Regarding the infinite 1-up part, I never knew it was doable with the middle koopa. I always did it with the first one to the left, since the space it had to walk was shorter
Haedox Yeah it was ok, but i was running the software that's designed for PC on Mac, which wasn't ideal, but it's all i can do till my PC comes back from repairs. Hopefully the next 3DS game will be a 60FPS episode.
The extra lives thing has definitely become a feature, these days. It's in 3D World too and you'd probably need it to get up to the max life count of 1110, shown as three crowns.
A+Start You're doing something with Syckoh? My glitch sense is tingling that this is going to be amazing...and that perhaps you could do some Xbox games, as they have lots of potential, as well as bugs and secrets
Great to see the capture card coming to good use already! Much better quality watching from mobile too, curse Nintendo and their low resolutions... Never played the game but some great glitches, A+... (Start)
A+Start Having a copy of Super Mario 3d land(And completed it 100 percent) I'm surprised at the amount of glitches that are still in this, I think I'll try a couple of these sometime, thanks.
Nearly every mario game has multiple infinite 1 up areas, they put them in purposefully or at least make it so its possible on purpose, its not a glitch
SteveDoidoUltimate Super Mario 64 has an exploit in thwomp tower stage where you get the Super Mushroom and when it ends, jump off the stage and repeat until you have 100 lives.
Not sure if if it hadn't been discovered when this video was being made or if it was just skipped over, but there's another glitch for this game: If you long jump perpendicular to the direction you want to go from a high point (such as the secret Luigi platform in world 2-3) then move towards your destination, you can get a lot of speed.
Way late on this, but some games implement a custom draw range feature that allows you to set the distance at which something loads in manually. It could explain that disappearing Goomba bug.
Actually, the glitch at 3:36 occurs even when you aren't sliding down a wall. When you are in midair, your shadow goes through any platforms beneath you. It's just a lot more obvious when you're wall sliding.
1:40 it's not and has never been a Glitch, it's just a game exploit existing since the first super Mario Bros. There's even an easter egg : when you manage to have 1000 1up, the life count shows a crown with two number (1000 lives + the number of lives above) when you have 1100 1up there are two crowns with a number (110 lives+ the number of lives above) And when you have 1110 lives, the screen shows three crowns(1110 lives is the max)
I performed a glitch where regular Mario/Luigi isn't wearing a hat and the small Mario/Luigi is. T perform it you first need 2/3 crowns you get when collecting enough lives. Go to world 1-2 and perform the infinite lives glitch until you have all three crowns. Once you have 3/3 crowns, pause the game and select "To Course Seletion". Once you're at the map selection screen, Mario/Luigi will either have a cap or no cap depending if you're Mario/Luigi before or after getting a mushroom.
for the glitch in 2:34 minute you can't do it if you complete the final boss of the normal worlds, since from that point all help powerups won't appear
I don't know if this is really a glitch or not, but it's probably not supposed to happen. In W7-1 at the very beginning of the stage if you long jump just at the right spot, you can get across the water you need to fall in to do the level and can beat the level extremely fast, I got it in 9 and my brother in 7!
With the infinite 1up exploit/glitch its a lot faster to use the first koopa, just stand on the question block, face the wall, and jump on it while its somewhat in the middle. Its really helpful becuase you can do it until the timer runs out, and when it does you'll just spawn at the checkpoint so thats pretty neat
1:37 Well, I know from my Wii hacking days that koopas in New Super Mario Bros. Wii have a flag on them indicating wether the 1-up glitch is possible or not... so, yeah! Seems like Nintendo's aware of this and keeps it in each Mario game as an Easter egg! :)
2:33 I know this is pretty late but this also happens in Mario Odyssey, in Metro Kingdom, go to the area with the letters that spell Mario, if the camera is facing the pedestal of the letters, tilt around 135° to the right and you will see a man on the edge of a map cheering on nothing, but if you get closer to him, he'll disappear.
In world 7-1 you can use the tanuki suit to skip the entire stage by simply fluttering across the water, it was so easy to find I wasn't even looking for glitches I just had a tanuki suit and wondered if I could flutter across, I could
I found another glitch! Go to any checkpoint flag. Run into it and just as you get the checkpoint, do a long jump. Mario will jump but make absolutely no noise at all when long jumping.
I'm amazed people still call the Infinite 1UP trick a glitch I mean, yeah, in the first game, it actually was, but ever since, it's basically become a standard in Mario games to have at least one, usually in the same way as it's always been [Koopa on a staircase, at least in the 2D games]
I found a similar glitch like the one in 6:22, it happened in the last stage, I was playing as Luigi, when I reached the first bridge with the falling floor behind it, I released a Tanooki leaf on a blue falling block, grabbed it, wall jumped from the falling platform on the left, and landed on the bridge. Bowser kept reapearing at the end of the bridge and jumping backwards. Then I pressed the button to destroy the bridge, Bowser appeared at the end of the bridge, but he moved backwards, then reached a point where there was no floor; the bridge never fell and Bowser was just floating in place
on World 7-1, take a Tanooki Suit and fly over the beginning platform to where the ending flag is, and then you'll be at the end. I best that level in 7 secs because of that ;)
in world 7 dash 1 you can use the tanuki to get past the whole level, just jump at the beginning of the stage to pass the water and then glide, after you start gliding you can jump on the wall which will give you more height and then you could glide farther, then reach the end in seconds
0:35 if luigi uses the rolling jump in the right corner of the big yellow block, sometimes he runs faster than that (sorry if i said it wrong, i don't know a lot of english)
I accidently did the final boss coaster glitch thing today and I was freaking out and I watched this video and of course it had already been discovered
Hey Andy! I love your videos, and since you got a 3DS Capture Card, I was wondering if you could ever do New Super Mario Bros 2. That's just a suggestion, btw.
I found another glitch in 2-4 while I was trying to do your glitch. If you go to the baddie box and use Luigi and then jump on a goomba on the ground and then jump on a goomba in the air, you gain extra hight than a normal Luigi goomba jump.
Easier version of the infinite lifes tech: Go to the first koopa after the checkpoint and position yourself at the 3rd brick floor and look up or down and jump on the koopa
I found my own glitch. In 7-4(The tree one) on the very first note block. If you jump off the rope bellow it and than ground pound on the edge of the coin block(the edge closets to you) you can walk left and right and not bounce on the platform. But, not back and forth or else you'll be bouncing.
I actually tried the glitch at 4:44. It didn't play as it did in the video, but I still think it's a glitch. I did the trick exactly as you said, but instead of Mario freezing, the camera froze as the transition from cloud to land was happening, making the screen white. Then I lost a life. It's a glitch, but not exactly the one I was looking for.
I knew about the s4-1 glitch a long time ago but if you go as far on the ledge as you can go and if you do this right the only enemies that will appear will be the magikoopas. P.S did you see my comment on your super mario galaxy video.
I know I am watching this almost 6 years later but I was bored and thought to myself: hey why not try those super mario 3d land glitches? Then I grabbed my 3ds and begun. I tried out the stuck in the air glitch 4:43 then I saw it worked. I remembered that w5-3 had this special room as well, so I tried it there and what happened is that the screen would get white and you will die out of nowhere. Whoever is reading this and has super mario 3d land, please give it a try:)
infinite lives is an EXPLOIT on the fact that if you kill/stun enemies after doing it to the point where you get 8000 points in any game it gives a life. it's only a glitch in mario 64
Did you know you can beat 7-1 in less than 10 seconds? Here is how you do it.And make sure Mario has a leaf.Start running southeast untill your in front of the flag than hold up on the control stick so Mario is runing towards the flag than when your at the edge hold A or B until you get back on a platform get the flag than boom! You did it. Trust me this really works.
The infinite lives is easier on the left koopa, just wait until it comes to the edge of the question mark block and step off the block, causing you to bounce infinitely
I feel like Nintendo is putting infinite 1-up glitches as Easter eggs. The reason I think so is because on New Super Mario Bros Wii, in Peach's Castle you can watch super skill videos. One of those videos is the 1-up glitch in NSMBW
