I still remember finally beating bowser and listening to this track in disbelief. It took me so long to beat this game, back then there was no youtube, no guides online, just pure exploration of this masterpiece game
the original Mario 64 is better than the DS is the worst mario remaker I've already played it and the controls are horrible and even though you can play with more characters but the remaker is BAD even the original is better and it's been 25 years and it's still the legend and while the DS FORGOTTEN even the PC remaker of super mario 64 is better
@@alexisfisher4457 True. It's impossible to catch all the stars, the controllers are bad and you need to lose your time changing characters and wearing hats to get some of the stars. The level design was changed to the worst too...

Late reply. That’s what I love about this remake. Bowser didn’t stop at just capturing the princess. He also captured Mario and his friends. If it wasn’t for Yoshi, Bowser would have won.
When I was a kid I got stuck on this final fight. My brother deleted my saved file before I could finally complete it. Watching this gave me so much satisfaction but also so much sadness that I couldn't do it myself :(

I love love LOVE that they brought in Luigi and especially Wario into this game. It's odd seeing Wario show Peach respect and not show hostility towards Mario at all this game, but to say the least it shows us a different side to him. I hope he's in future Super Mario titles in the future, whether it is as a hero or as the main villain (a game long overdue).
I love how Peach notices Yoshi first rather than Mario. I mean, considering the fact you start with Yoshi, they might as well have called this Super Yoshi 64.

I love how they contained the magic of the original cutscene, while still making it a bit modern. It captures the entire vibe of this game. It tries to preserve what makes the original good while also adding modern things. Which is why Mario's voice in this sounds like the original, but is also still a bit different.
Man, I never noticed that they brought back the OG 64 Peach voice to redub peach again and not the current one during that time. This game is such a masterpiece.

Why didn't they wait until the 3DS was out to remake Super Mario 64? The graphics could have been even better, and music clear as day, and there could have been full, smooth 8-direction movement with the circle pad.
It might be my personal bias for the DS and its games but I honestly believe this version of the game is superior to the original. The original might have levels of nostalgia for many many people, but this game also has nostalgia for a lot of people who grew up with the DS. Not to mention better graphics(at the time), more stars, characters, content... even multiplayer. The DS version was a well needed remake, and I kinda hope they remake Mario 64 again for the 3DS or even the NX. It'd be something I'd love to see.

I really like the attention to detail that despite Mario not being the only one who saved the day Peach doesn't kiss anyone other than him. It shows that she truly is in love with him and only him just like was established in the previous N64 and GC Mario RPG games.

Damn I remember acing this game as a kid getting all the stars then i got to the final bowswer fight and I must have tried 30 times or more to beat it. I finally beat it and my N64 overheated and crashed. Now I'm getting to relive it all without that hassle!
