This reminds me when I had to move from Florida, to Oklahoma. And I had to say goodbye to my friend Mike for the final time. And I never saw him again. Until 11 years later, I reunited with him on Discord! And it feels just like old times!
That hits hard. This song reminds me a lot to my uncle. He was the one who beat the game with 120 stars when I was a kid. We used to play videogames a lot but then he got to leave my country and I don't see him like for more than 20 years. I'm almost 30 this year and I still think that he is the most coolest person and friend I ever had.
“These are my boys!” -Mario & Luigi’s Father, The Super Mario Bros Movie (2023) The final line Charles Martinet recorded for a Mario project before the announcement of his retirement. Thank you for the 28 years of fun and excitement. Thank you so much for letting us play your games. Thank you Charles, for everything.
Thank you Charles. To me, Mario doesn’t just feel like a nostalgic fictional character, but like one of my oldest, most consistent childhood friends. The downright happy voice you gave him was a huge part of that. Charles Martinet, you’re a legend.
Man, this song always gets me so emotional... the way Mario looks up at the camera before running into the castle as to say thank you to the player after a long journey together. Thank YOU, Charles Martinet; you'll always be Mario to us ❤
This must be life's end credits theme. It's so nostalgic and happy, yet you can feel the heavy grief of something finally concluding. But what gives, that's what we were striving for when we began and what we got when we finished. It was worth it.
Yo I literally seached up this video just because I thought of that. It's cool that other's also got this emotional over this OST, thought I was the only one.
i can imagine a hearbreaking, yet still heartwarming scene of Mario reuniting with Luigi after he's been absent for 24 years with this playing in the background
SPOILERS Literally dude, first time I finished this after trying to Backwards Long Jump the endless stair, and beat bowser, I didn't know what to expect I wasn't really serious about thinking to finish Mario 64, I thought hey why not, it's quite easy This hits harder than Ocarina of Time, probably because I never finished it because I am just too, unwilling to see the cutscene where they took part, but for real I didn't expect at all Mario 64 to hit that hard on my feelings, the theme itself is already touching me the first time I went through it after finishing the game
1:12 (Lyrics by Juno Songs) Charles Martinet, you're a legend Hold the torch up high, We celebrate your career! And even though an era comes to an end, All the hearts your voice has touched Will still give a hearty cheer!
This song already brought to me tears before, but now I can't help but cry even more. Charles; you kicked butt. You'll forever remain as my favorite voice of Mario, Wario, and Waluigi.
Didn’t realise it was possible to feel nostalgic for a game I never played, at least not when it came out. I wasn’t fortunate enough to live in the age of the N64, but I did play 3D all stars and the Wii U virtual console release. There’s always such a range of emotions from hearing this. Truly a masterpiece.
@@jytvreal yeah to a lot of Nintendo fans, it’s not just years. People will gatekeep the N64 and GameCube era from anyone younger than those systems, which is a shame honestly.
@@lugnut59 who gatekeeps GameCube? And those were important years to us Nintendo fans but to say you wasn’t fortunate enough to live then is just too much
This song was already beautiful when it first came out, but it really hits different now that Charles Martinet is no longer the voice of Mario. He wasn’t the first Mario, but he’s definitely the definitive Mario, and the energy, warmth, and heart he brought to the role have become an amazing, indispensable part of the franchise. It’s sad that he won’t be in the franchise full time anymore, but I’m still glad he got to be Mario. Just as he’s thanked us for playing his games every game since 1996, I just wanted to say, on behalf of Mario fans everywhere: Thank you so much for being our Mario. We love you Charles. ❤️
In honor of Charles Martinet’s official retirement as the voice of Mario. Thank you for everything good sir. You earned your rest. Enjoy your new role as Mario Ambassador and we will miss you.
Thank you so much, Charles Martinet for giving us much childhood. We will miss you❤ "These are my boys!" Charles Martinet in Super Mario Bros Movie as Mario and Luigi's dad 🥺
This song popped into my head after hearing the news that Charles Martinet is stepping down as the voice of Mario. Although 64 wasn't my first Martinet Mario game (that would be Sunshine!), I feel like there couldn't be a more fitting song to listen to. Thank you Charles for so many years of entertainment, from my childhood to adulthood
This is so beautiful and impactful, mario was such a big part of my life and childhood, growing up with disabilities i felt like Mario was my only friend, and this brings me right back to the good ole days, i cried at the end, those harmonies work together to show the legacy of a legend. Thank you so much for making our childhoods incredible Mr Martinet you will always be numba one in our hearts❤
Crazy how a simple character can be so impactful. I definitely remember this song bringing tears to my eyes at one time. Hope you are doing well with any disabilities you may have. I for one am doing the best I can with mine 👍🏻
Coming back to this after hearing the news of Charles Martinet retiring from voicing Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi Thank you so much for playing his games
Well, this is it. Today is my 15th birthday which is when my freshman year of high school starts. (by the time I wrote this) I completed the first game I’ve ever played which was New Super Mario Bros. Wii, something I’d never thought I’d accomplish. Not to mention the fact that Super Mario Bros. Wonder, my most anticipated game is close to being released. Not only that, but I’ve joined the Sonic and Kirby fandoms, as well as my interest being caught in some indie games like Pizza Tower and AntonBlast. And finally, Charles Martinet’s retirement from being Mario’s VA. It truly feels like a brand new phase of my whole life and I can’t be more thankful to everyone I love and everything I love for that, but for now, it’s time for me to *Jump Up In The Air* and enter this *New World* with *Endless Possibilities*
Listening to this after hearing Charles Martinet is retiring as the voice of Mario, Luigi, and a bunch of other characters. Thank you for being my Mario, Mr. Martinet!
Looklikes i am not only one who come to listen to this just because Our legendary voice actor for Mario, Luigi, Wario, Waluigi...etc decide to retires from his voice acting. Lets hope we get someone to voice them now like Charles Martinet did
Listening to this right when Charles Martinet is retired for voicing Mario makes me sad, I can’t be the only one who’s crying a lot right now, he was my favorite actor of voicing Mario, I’ve played Mario since Super Mario Bros Wii to Mario Party Superstar (2011-2021) a decade I’ve been playing Mario games, The Super Mario Bros Movie was his last role of voicing of the Mario Franchise Thank you so much Charles Martinet for my childhood I’ll always remember ya P.S Thank you so much for playing my game 😭❤️
“Thank you so much for playing my game!” Thank you so much Charles for giving me a childhood I will forever treasure ❤ enjoy your retirement and new role as the Mario Ambassador.
"Well, this is the end beautiful friends. After 35 years, this is Mario’s final goodbye. It's been a lot of fun, and we'd like to thank each and every one of you who made this journey with us. Nintendo wouldn't have been anything without you. Hopefully we've left you with some good memories. So, until we meet again, stay gold! Bang
This song is-a dedicated to Charles Martinet, who's-a been the voice of-a Super Mario for over thirty years now! we love you-a, and appreciate everything you've-a done!
Back then, the credit sequence was a reminder that yes, we finished a masterpiece and its time to move on. Now, this sequence is a farewell message that Charles Martinet is retiring, after being the voice of Mario for over 30 years. Thank you, Charles Martinet, for introducing me to Nintendo and the entirety of the Mario franchise. And one more thing: Thanks. For. Everything. 😞😞😞❤❤❤
I am still so amazed that it turned out to be true all these years later. A little sad that Nintendo worked so hard on Luigi just to scrap him in the final game
There's something about this song that makes it unmatched by any other ending song. Even if I think the Super Mario World ending theme is a masterpiece there's just a feeling this one captures that no other could. I grew up in the nintendo wii era but a lot of the youtubers I watched were brought up in the n64 era so these games have a lot of significance for me. This song is somehow so cheerful yet sad at the same time and perfectly sums up the feeling of nostalgia. It's truly beautiful. Basically if this song doesn't play at my funeral I'm not coming
Yeah this song is really great It make me remember my best Primary school friend move to other country when I was a primary 3 student And then I never saw him next year until now😢 Btw I am a people from Nintendo DS’s era
If this song isn't played at my funeral, I'm not coming either. Maybe towards the end as pictures of my life with credits listing my friends scroll across a screen.
Im in tears, this song hits different now. Thank you for give a voice to my favourite characters, you literally voice my childhood. The Mushroom Kingdom will not be the same without you Charles Martinet. ❤💚💛💜
"Thank you so much-a for to playing my game!" His adventure as a voice actor may be over, but his new one is just the beginning. Enjoy your new adventure as a Mario Ambassador, Charles. We'll never forget you. You are, and will always be, "numba one" in our hearts. From all of us and from the people of Nintendo, thank you so much. For everything. 🥲❤👋
This hits me more than ever now. Mario has been for the very longest time my favorite video game franchise, the one I hold my closest to. Hearing the news of Charles stepping down but at least moving on as “Mario Ambassador” was so jerking to hear about, and I could not help but make my tribute starting here. Charles Martinet, I met you back in 2019 while cosplaying Mario at a random pop-up event. You have to still be one of the sweetest souls to ever be known all across the planet, especially since you were the voice of a-many generations for gamers old and new. And absolutely the biggest legend in video game history. May we all remember you and your performances as we wish you the best on your retirement. Sincerely, ChosenMii
Goodbye Charles, you were the best VA that could have been chosen. May you go on to live a fulfilling life, wherever you go, here's to our new Mario Ambassador.
Thank you, Charles Martinet. You are and always will be Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi to me. This is a hard mushroom for me to swallow, but regardless, I'm glad you were Mario at all. I still find the Mario Teaches Typing 1&2 clips to be funny. Here's hoping the future is bright, and that the rest of your life is nice. I am very grateful that I played your games, and I had a lot of fun playing them. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Tomorrow I leave for college in the place where I used to live, living where I do now hasn’t always been the best but when I think about all the memories and how they’ve shaped me to who I am today I think of this song, thank you koji kondo for this song and thank you Georgia for making me who I am
Listening to this song again today almost made me cry. Mario was my childhood, and Martinet, being the voice of Mario, Luigi, Waluigi, and Wario, played a big part in it all. Thank you for everything, Charles Martinet.
