The Super Mario Bros. have received a surprising amount of adaptations, though some are defintely stronger than others. For this essay, we'll be taking a walk down memory lane to showcase Mario's adventures through TV, Movies, and Comics. We're covering everything from the obscure to the beloved and everything in between! How many of these adaptations were you familiar with? Are you excited for the upcoming movie? considering Nintendo told Disney how Bowser would hold his coffee cup in Wreck-It-Ralph, I'm thinking this will be amazing. '93 was them believing their mascot was too big to fail. apparently they've been humbled and are more focused

Say what y'all want about the 1993 Mario movie. I loved it as a kid and would definitely watch it again. Its so bad its good and that's why i loved it. Plus, Bob Hoskins was one of my favorite actors mostly cuz of Who Framed Roger Rabbit. RIP Legend

It's funny how Universal and Nintendo went from being bitter rivals due to a court case in 1984 to working on multiple projects together over the years. And almost 40 years later, the two are working on bringing the Mario brand back to the silver screen. P.S.- Universal even unintentionally helped Nintendo by making audiences forget about the abysmal 1993 movie by releasing Jurassic Park a month later, too.

The one thing I long for is a Nintendo Cinematic Universe. The prominent Nintendo games getting their own movie before having a crossover with each other titled “Super Smash Bros.” Nintendo have a ton of IPs to make this work too: Super Mario Bros. Donkey Kong Legend of Zelda Pokemon Metroid Kirby Star Fox Kid Icarus (Though it would be weird with Mario playing it in-movie) Pac-Man Earthbound Fire Emblem Xenoblade Chronicles Splatoon And each of them have hundreds of characters to all bounce of each other to make a very successful cinematic universe.

Having ambition is all it takes to make a videogame adaptation work That's why most videogame adaptations in the past failed, because the studio hired people that didn't understand videogames or filmmaking That's why recent adaptations like "Detetive Pikachu", "Sonic The Hedgehog", "The Last of Us" and "Arcane" worked, because the people behind it understood the games and the media

Much of this is stuff I never new about. I knew about the OVA, DIC, Cartoons, live action film, and maybe a few one off commercials.But not the club or Bowser show. I hope everyone who has only played the Mario games or has only known Charles Martinet as his voice sees this video. Because it will open up a whole other side of the Italian Plumber's house they never knew.

I know The Super Mario Bros Movie is gonna prove Nintendo adaptations are still gonna work! I love Super Mario World and Pokémon (plus I am interested in seeing Pokémon: Detective Pikachu), so I am absolutely loving forward to this Mario movie! Definitely better than the live-action one! 😄 Oh, yeah, and I appreciate Wreck-It Ralph featuring cameos of Nintendo characters, even though Mario himself never got to appear. I'd like TV shows for Star Fox, F-Zero, Fire Emblem and Kirby, as well as a movie for Metroid! 😃 Edit: I'm all for spin-off movies of Donkey Kong and Luigi's Mansion! 😃

This movie wasn't bad it just wasn't Mario Bros or the Mario Bros we all know and love now, back then Mario literally was just a plumber in a strange world with powers, the movie filled in the rest of it considering that it never changed dramatically for the first 3 games, now it's super flushed out and somehow still the same thing 😂

Bob Hoskins was such a perfect choice to play a live-action Mario, and Leguizamo has shown over the years that he can be a very good actor. It's just a shame they got stuck with clueless directors whose sole claim to fame had been a music video, and who haven't worked in the industry since.

They also created Max Headroom which became super popular for it's time in the 80s and 90s. Having done one low budget movie before Mario, the two have since been thriving in the commercial industry.

Can you do, later this summer, Haunted Mansion Adaptations: Then Vs Now after the movie is out? The Haunted Mansion from 2003 with Eddie Murphy premiered to a lackluster response. I hope the new one with Rosario Dawson, Danny DeVito, Chase Dillon, Tiffany Haddish, LaKeith Stanfield, and Owen Wilson does so much better!

I remember playing the first mario game on my NES when i was 7 years old and immediately got hooked to it. 34 years later Im watching the movie with my kids who loved it as much as i did. I can't quite explain how it felt.

Having seen the animated movie & seeing that it's very entertaining, I would very much love a Luigi's Mansion movie. It would really work into what they built up for in the movie. I would also love an original Legend of Zelda movie & possibly a Metroid movie with Brie Larson as Samus [she's a HUGE Nintendo fan & about the right look to pull it off] There's a lot of potential in this that I'd love to see on screen after being satisfied with the Super Mario Bros movie

I saw the 1986 Mario film, the 1993 Mario film and the 2023 Mario film. I saw all 3 of the Mario films and I thought the 2023 Mario film was better because the graphics looked amazing, the personalities were colorful and the plot was actually pretty cool. I saw it with my brother in a virtually empty theater. It was fun. I felt like I was watching a Sonic film. I wouldn't mind if Sonic and Mario crossed over in the films. But that won't happen because of competition, artistic differences, it'll be too expensive to make the crossover film, I get it. But, I like "What if" cases, it's fun to imagine what the conversation would be like between Sonic and Mario. Since they crossed over in the games before. They have history.

So basically the producers were trying to get a Mario movie made for as cheap as possible, and had a more game accurate version movie in the works, but the director's previous film was poorly received and he was fired. They then found the creators of max headroom who wanted to do their own version of Mario which led to a great script and cast and fx team, but not enough money to make it, so disney bought the rights to finish production but only if the script was made more family friendly without input from the directors. This then led to the shitshow that was the production. So really, the producers shot themselves in the foot by making that decision and blamed it on everyone else.

I guess the Mario movie in the 90s didn't actually make a adaption to the original Mario series. That being say... I love when Nintendo make their own movies for their fans. Now this is the real thing and officially owned by Nintendo feat Illumination, Universal Studio.
