Fun fact: If you threw a big block of ice into lava it would not sink and melt quickly it would actually melt very slowly because the heat from the lava creates a curtain of steam between it and the ice delaying the inevitable. This will last until the ice runs out of water.

Galaxy was my first Mario game, and I've completed it like 6 times with both Mario and Luigj because of how much I like coming back to it. I'll just take a few days to grab the same 120 stars for the pure hell of it this game is so good.

24:05 The developers intentionally shrunk Mario’s head just so his head wouldn’t pop out when he stuck his hand out. All to make it more terrifying. I like to think that the poison water shrunk his head too.

This game was and still is a joy for me, hecc the coolest thing I found out is (if I’m remembering correctly. On the tiny planet with the helmet goombas before the mechaleg fight if you position a triple just at JUUUUUST the right spot the gravity will yank you over to mechaleg away from the cutscene trigger so you can explore every part of it before the fight can even start and fixing it is as simple as going to the spot where the launch star drops you off

5:07 honestly never had an issue. Super easy to setup, plus it's more accurate than the switch's simulated cursor. You also don't need to re center it every 5 seconds.

Nintendo had a lot of nerve to release 3D All Stars in 2020, given all the somewhat creepy Covid/Pandemic references. Stuff like the...well....that at 11:29 in Galaxy, Corona Mountain in Sunshine, and the vacant town in Wet Dry Land in 64....it all adds up. Edit. Also the fact that Bowser Jr. wears a mask that goes up to the nose.

11:58 yeah, I’ve been noticing that as well, it’s weird. Want to know what’s even weirder? Super Mario 3D All-Stars was the first time that I actually beat Super Mario Galaxy, I played it before on the Wii but I could only play the festival part at the beginning because the disc was dirty, glad I got to really play this game, I’d say it’s in my top five favorite games

i remember playing the mario galaxy beta in a walmart before the game came out. then i got my wii for christmas, and played mario galaxy, and it quickly became my favorite mario game of all time. even still, galaxy is amazing. the game, the soundtrack, ough it's so good

I died so much in melty molten galaxy that I got 999 star bits, and the extra one ups I got from said star bits kept me from getting a game over... The Wii made me into the gamer I am today, and this was probably my favorite game of all time for a while. I still love it to this day, so thank you choctopus for reminding me of the beauty that is this game.

Galaxy is one of the best Mario games hands down of the late 2000s, not only for the fact it widened the frontiers on how Nintendo could reinterpret gameplay on the Wii, but gave us an ACTUAL STORY in terms of Rosalina's backstory(which hits home for ANYONE who's lost a parent as a young child) And the music is EPIC for the fact its a full ass ORCHESTRA doing the soundtrack for the game

Idk if there is a better glow up than from plumber to space explorer, but my brother went from unloading trucks three nights a week to working a UI/UX design and management position at a very big, important management/consulting company.
