'Super Mario Land - Birabuto Kingdom Theme' as played by Tom Brier. Link to original performance: • Super Mario Land - Bir... Sheet music: www.keeper1st.c... (by Ron O'Dell) MIDI: drive.google.c...
I used to listen to this song on my game boy for so long. It’s a very short song made to fit on a small game, but there’s so much depth to it. Tom Brier was able extract that depth. I always love the ripping triplets that he puts inbetween bars on two occasions. A masterpiece.
+Keeper1st Thank you! Guess I must slow down a bit :p But yeah, I'm planning to work on Tom's '6 Golden Coins Ending' too in near future. Anyway, send me a mail when you find time to write this one down.
+Czarek7711 Hmm, what'll you do about Tom's mistake in the beginning where he played it in two-step rhythm for a few bars? Anyway, go ahead and send me the MIDI of this one so I have it to do when I find time.
+Keeper1st I was thinking of something like this: db.tt/rLmsN3vf (I created it in 10 mins, just to show the idea). I'm not sure yet, but I don't want to cut anything.
+Czarek7711 So basically, include his mistake... He created a nice segue into the correct rhythm, after all! BTW, I'm glad you did the one in this video. When I gave him the simple sheet music, I actually asked him not to flesh it out right away, but to build it up slowly, to show people how such a simple tune can be fleshed out. Getting this into sheet music will be ideal. (Did you send the MIDI file? I haven't seen it yet.)
A lot of people would not have discovered what this song was called without SMG4, and thus would forever have unknown the glory of Tom Brier's version So I'm honestly thankful for both, even though I owned super mario land so I found it without him
Wow I thought People forgot about that video. It's what originally made me pick up piano again after a five year hiatus. This is incredible. Thanks for your work!
Tom brier, he is in my top 3 favourite youtubers. I love all his covers and its absolutely horrible with what is going on with him. You did great remaking it, i love it.
M8 I took me 5 months to learn half of this song... and then I gave up and realized I made the worlds greatest mistake yet here I am talking to you and yet here YOU are reading the comment wait you still reading? Dude! Get learnin’!
Ah, yes. I remember Tom Brier. He was a genetically modified super human born with 4 times the normal number of brain cells and twice the number of arms.
This sounds like a Wild Western Pianist, but good job though. Like If you came from SMG4. Edit: Wow, this is the most likes I've ever gotten, thanks guys!
Hopefully I'll get a chance to visit the hospice care center again sometime this spring or summer. Apparently he's doing a bit better now, and starting to be able to make sounds. Maybe speech is not far away.
Tom Briers version!? This is amazing, and i tried to find the tutorial for the original theme, just after seeing his video with the birabuto theme. its not more than a minute, since i leaved his video. Please keep him in your mind folks. Tom Brier is still in the hospital. apperently, he is making progress, and he can kind'a talk, but still not really understandable. we dont know if he will be able to play this tune, or anything else, again!
This transciption is meant to be, for the most part, exact to what Tom plays. If there's any notes missing from the original game version, it's because they weren't put onto the sheets Tom played from.
