My thoughts on this game are explained in my last video which is a review. But if your a tl;dw kinda guy, basically I think Super Mario Land is decent, but worth playing to see the oddities it has. Song List:
0:10 something about this tune. it sounds so motivational for me. idk why. it just sounds so majestic. and for a pixelated track, it flows very smoothly
This was the real first game I ever played (starts to cry). My older sister had it and VERY rarely let me play, but when I did it got me hooked to video games right away. I actually beat this game one time (as a young kid) and she was like wtf...cause she could never get past the Egypt levels. Good times!
Awesome :D my older sister had it too and she said: here I don't need this anymore and gave me this game, it was not my first one... I think but it was awesome... I never beat the 3 last levels ^^ No one has ever beaten the game in my family :D
TheNattak My older sister is who showed me this game, too! :D I'm going to remind her of this ASAP. I just re-beat it using the VisualBoyAdvance emulator - it's awesome!
So sad that people know these songs and don't even know where they came from... It's a classic game, for God's sake, pick up a gameboy once in a while!
Oh wow, I'd almost forgotten about this game. It was the first game I ever played, I got so many memories just now! I almost cried at the last one. It put me on such a nostalgia trip. Thank you; thank you!
I’m pretty sure this is the first video game I ever played. Addicting, infuriating (well it was to 7 year old me), and catchy. Some of these songs get me grooving, others get me really mad haha
This game reminds me of my childhood. (Even though it was 2011 when I got it) sure, my life was very sad and full of many family deaths and nightmares, but sitting down and playing Super MarioLand always seemed to help. Its kinda ere because it also reminds me of the bad memories as well as the good ones. I've had this game for 7 years now. (My birthday was 2 days ago) And I still love it up to this day.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ this game brings me so much joy... it reminds me of getting this game from my uncle al... I got this and a bowling game and a Gameboy from uncle al... I must have been a really good kid to get this game... I still don't know what I did for my uncle al to get this game back in the day... but thanks uncle al for the blessing... I am glad I didn't have to steal this game... I actually got it as a gift... I would always be thankful to uncle Al for actually giving me this game... I must have deserved it
So classy and funny music in this game, very uplifting and adventurous. Listen to the bass line from the Chai kingdom and the sky level ^^ The star theme is the best of all Mario games. Bonus game could very well be a great ringtone! Boss theme is scary as all hell. Last boss theme is game boy heavy metal ^^ 8:43 Never felt such a good feeling from video game music before, extremely well composed. They don't make'em like this anymore.
OMG how many hours I spent in 1993 playing with my game boy as a child? All the musics still give me the same feelings (even of anxiety) that I felt back then...
Esta musica me recuerda a mi primo que falleció este año, jugágamos este juego juntos. Descanza en paz Felipe (1982-2016) This music reminds me my cousin who died this year, we play this game together. Rest In Peace Felipe (1982-2016)
Why the bloody hell is everyone talking about how nostalgic is all this but no one bloody mentions that middle-east looking fella [6:00] standing in cave surrounded by ruins and bricks??? What the bloody hell?! Was that in the game too?! Am I just being weird?! Why does he look so menacing with that musuc in background?!?! I've so many black-pissing questions!!!
@knockoutnorko7500 I am Sort of late to answer this, so I have no idea if you found an answer to that yet. Eitherway, I was confused too. At first, I wanted to search that exact track, since it's also in super Mario land 2, but the only name I could find for it is "Pipe room", as it's the music that plays when you enter a pipe, obviously... About the picture though, It was relatively easy to find. Apparently, while U.S troops were looking for the Al Qaeda leader (Osama), they found what might have been his last refuge. Now, speaking about the actual photo, it's one of the caves in the Afganistan region of Tora Bora. I took this information from the first website I could find, neither do I know much about the incident, but I'll just paste here the exact text that goes with the image in that website. [ Afghan and coalition forces are concerned that caves in Tora Bora, like this one discovered in 2001, are still home to Al-Qaeda and other fighters (AFP) ] www.refworld.org/docid/46c95d5bc.html Yes, it's very weird seeing this random photo in such an old video, and what makes It even creepier is the fact that if you have witnessed it, since so much time has passed, you wont be able to reach out to whoever made this video and ask him about It. Eitherway, I hope you can get to read the reply after one year. It's these types of things that tend to stick around your head just because they bring curiosity to the table, so finding the truth is always relieving.
@@thekirbyguy2030 Oh wow. To be honest since then I’ve completely forgot about this whole thing but aye, it’s nice to have a closures on things like these so I’m real bloody grateful for the very informative answer of yours. It’s not everyday ye encounter a photo of an Al-Qaeda bunker in a Mario soundtrack video XD
I am not a full-blood nerd. But tonight I got my nerd on washing dishes. These SML Soundtracks are way better than the ones from the rest of Super Mario Game franchise!
Very nostalgic memories...very very very.....funny story but as a kid I was really afraid of Tatanaga a little bit. Also the sound at his fight was scary in a way.
I'm not sure if what I think is traditional Chinese music is actually just what Japanese composers thought Chinese music stereotypically sounded like......
9:00 Pov: your 7 and your dad just speedruned this game and now u can enjoy the Endsong on ur Headphones. Thanks to all dads that played Supermarioland back than👌
