Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS - Medal Challenges 

Jaegar White At this point the 3D gimmick has run it's course. It worked great in Kid Icarus, Smash Bros, Mario 3D Land, and some more games, but now that Nintendo is moving on to the Switch I feel they just wanna be done with the 3DS.

I'm aware of all that I just find it funny that Nintendo is dropping their main gimmick for their system.

Nobody ever really even used the 3d, they just used it because it had superior power to the ds.

Nintendo did say for the people who miss out on all the wii u and 3ds games they A it back word compatible B all the games that were on wii u and 3ds are gonna be re released on switch like mario kart or splatoon pokemon I'm not sure

They still are. "Hyrule Warriors", "Super Mario Maker" and "Yoshi's Woolly World" aren't on the 3DS. However, "Hyrule Warriors Legends", "Super Mario for the Nintendo 3DS" and "Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World" are/will be on the 3DS. So, therefore the games you mentioned are still exclusive to Wii U.

Not really, I just find it funny how the Wii U's slight failure and the 3DS's huge success has caused Nintendo to recreate a lot of Wii U games on the 3DS.

Might be recreating a lot of games because people didnt buy a wii u. So, theyre porting the good things and moving on to the switch.

You can still play most of other people's levels from the wii u version. Plus theres 100 levels made by nintendo. If you want to share your levels then play the wii u version.

Super Kooper Josh If you have it for Wii U, then the only reason to have it on 3DS is just for on-the-go gaming. You can't upload any levels made on this except local. It does have 100-man online play though. If it didn't, then it would not sell at all. In short, Nintendo ported this and didn't care to make it the best possible choice and if the Switch gets Mario Maker in March, then buying this is completely pointless.

+Comical Chris You didn't mention you can also play user created stuff from the wii u. Some wont be available due to the console limitations. But theres 100s of great levels to play on top of the 100 made by nintendo.

If you don't care about the cons of this game, I'd say go for it. It looks neat. But if you're a hardcore Mario Maker fan, I'd say wait til it gets a few updates. if they on't please you, stick with Wii U version (if you have it) :)

Second off, there's a huge difference between this and Mario Vs donkey kong, if it was online, they would have to use the same servers, which would be way too much to handle. There's already millions of levels so far, adding millions more on the 3ds would just be too much. Second off, the 3ds is portable, you won't have internet when you are out and about. Streetpass is the way to go. When at home, you would likely use the wii u. (If you don't have a wii u, well I don’t know.

I am very sad that there's no online, but you have to think this properly. Super Smash brothers for 3ds lags badly. How much more would this lag? Millions of levels, on top of all the wii u ones (Or most of them) would literally destroy the game. (Not literally, but woukd likley crash with all the data and stuff) I'm no expert wirh all this, but I know that the 3ds is very limited. Also, yes the NSMBU is not very good on 3ds, but do remember it is a port, therefore they have to copy the wii u one all the way. You may thjnk theg don't do it because they are 'lazy' or whatnot, but I can likely assure you, it's a whole different story inside the company. I am very sure there are loads of reasons why they didn't use NSMB2. Also, it doesn't look THAT bad. It's not only playable, but we get the propeller on handheld! I'm just grateful we even GOT Super Mario Maker for 3DS. Of course, if it came just for New 3ds, they could improve NSMBU, but I'm not complaining.

No, they had that for a while before the Switch was announced.

It was made back in the summer, for the new 3DS motto "There's no play like it" in which they claim that their games are awesome. And their not lying.

Plus, the joy cons have round edges on their non-connecting sides. The "joy con" is a rectangle with PLAY and ABXY buttons in it.

That would be awesome but I doubt they will add this feature.

Don't lose all your hopes yet. Nintendo may start releasing periodic software updates for Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS after it comes out. Maybe one of the updates will bring most, if not all, of the features from the Wii U version (online sharing, course ID, Amiibo functionality, etc.) to the 3DS version.

DrScaphandre true, but it's been like 4 months since something new has been added... idk why there's an extra row in the tool pallet if they are going to wait forever to add another element... personally, I just wish there were a way to categorize levels in releasing them. You either need to have constant levels pumping out and people adding you to their favorites or a youtube channel that could boost popularity, otherwise, your levels won't get played no matter how good or bad they are.
