SANIC BOOM Because running a full Pokemon game is one thing, and sharing levels online is another. Level sharing isn't as hard a task as you think. Upload level to server, recieve level from server. That's all to it.

Some Account ThatS actually not all. The 3DS has to interpret the actual files and put them so anyone can access them. Remember that most 3DSs shipped with a 2GB SD so sharing stages could also be a storage problem. Also remember that the 3DS has a very modest processor.

Important Question Here: How are the choices relevant? 1.) Roller Coaster vs Haunted Mansion: the stage has boos in it, just change the background to haunted mansion, and voila! If something was new I missed it, too, so I don't see how the fan choice mattered. 2.) Outrageous vs Peaceful: We picked outrageous, right? I was confused since, well somehow, there's peaceful birds and a bird ambient background which I think are the peaceful features you were going to add anyway. Don't really see how the choice mattered, again. 3.) Solo vs Friend: Where is the friend? Don't tell me it was the enemy you abused to pass the stage because that would make no sense. Friend would be something akin to Yoshi, a second player, or online sharing capabilities, which you know, the community has repeatedly asked for. How is this for the fans? WTF am I missing here? *End rant. Peace my peeps.

Hopefully in an update they add online sharing. I wouldn't even mind if it was a paid DLC. Would make lots of sense. (If they just opened Online Sharing for everyone in the 3DS version, the servers would *overflow* with levels. Actually, another smart idea to avoid this is to create platform specific servers. Wii U version has it's servers, 3DS version has it's servers. THINK Nintendo. THINK.

Major Agent 3 Guy and Squid Sisters So? I'm pretty sure the Wii U 100 Mario Challenge had plenty of levels the day after. If they separate the servers, and wait a little, the 3DS 100MC will have plenty of levels the day after. I've thought about it a lot. And I haven't found any flaws with my idea... ... except for the fact that Nintendo will most likely never implement it.

Why is everyone hating on the "no sharing online thing?" I think the game is still better than all the other Mario games, because there's an infinite amount of levels to play (for $40, when the WiiU adds 20$ for sharing online and costumes in one out of four graphics.) You can still share with your friends and via. Streetpass, and in 2017, they might find a way to have 3DS Super Mario Maker share online. And they should add amiibos in 2017 probably before or with sharing.

I just realized something: Mario vs Donkey, Miniland mayhem (a puzzle game spin-off for the original DS) had a level editor. And even though that editor was far more limited and archaic than Mario Maker... it still had slopes. (it also had vertically scrolling levels and like 10 different level themes, but that's less important)

This game isn't bad, it has 18 worth with about 4-7 levels in each one, the graphics aren't that bad from what they look like in the trailers. You can download levels from online and can take them to go and much more. Not bad but I'm not that type of guy that builds and shares online tho it would be an awesome feature! If you don't have the game for the Wii U, then I prefer it for the 3ds!

I HAVE AN IDEA. Since the new mario for the switch "Super Mario Odyssey" is an open world kinda game with different landscapes and cities, Nintendo should make a kind of mario maker that lets you build your own little city and its own obstacles and stuff like that in it for Mario to explore in 3D.

Dear Nintendo, I recently got Mario Maker 3DS and I was severely disappointed. There was no search feature, no online sharing, all items were obtained through the 10 mario challenge (some levels are outrageous), and other minor "features" on it. Who else thought that Luigi was gonna be a playable character and not just a Mystery Mushroom costume? ("Mario's day off" gave me the thought of that before I watched the video)
