An original a-cappella arrangement of Delfino Plaza from Super Mario Sunshine.
I first heard this song at a friends house right after the game came out. It was late summer and I vividly remember seeing the bright sunny gameplay, the water, and hearing this song play along to it. For any of you who've played the game, you know that the game does have some darker areas that contrast with Delfino Plaza, but I'll always have that bright & sunny first impression of Super Mario Sunshine. What a great memory :D

I hate Sunshine so much. I just got so sick of running around with a hose and dying A THOUSAND TIMES on the Secret Stages. I like Galaxy better for the gravity mechanics and nice atmosphere.

If you ask me, it's much easier to die from enemies or fall to your death in the abyss of space in Mario Galaxy than it was to die in Sunshine. And whenever you return to playing Sunshine, it kind of feels like you're going back home or to a vacation spot that you spend a long time at since there were actually Shine Sprites at the actual resort and not just in the levels themselves. Galaxy didn't that have that home-y feeling.

The secret levels were great! They challenged you by not letting you use F.L.U.D.D and the Mario theme in acapella made it even better. And the secret levels were a very SMALL percentage of the game, anyway.

I really did like Mario Sunshine overall. Granted, it's not one of my favorite Mario games mainly because the game does have its bullshit moments such as the infamous pachinko stage, those god awful blue coins & that horribly designed Serina Beach hotel mission with Yoshi, but aside from those issues, I always have a fairly good time with the game. I find the game to be pretty fun overall. And unlike the newer Mario games where they *constantly* rehash elements from Mario 3, Sunshine at least tried to be different compare to other Mario games & didn't rely heavily on playing the Mario 3 nostalgia card & I can appreciate Sunshine for taking such a huge risk for the series by doing something drastically different from other Mario titles, something that I really wish the newer Mario games would do...

It was alright, but it was hard to follow up Super Mario 64, which was revolutionary at the time. That jump from Super Mario World to Super Mario 64 was huge. This was more of an evolution of the 3D series. More like Nintendo experimenting, which was good because the best levels in this game are the ones without FLUDD -- and those inspired Super Mario Galaxy.
