I recently got a 1:26:36 that I wasn't too happy with, and then I beat it with another 1:26:36. Never PB by too much right? I liked this one more though so posting it, and also the prior PB VOD is behind the splits so it's two runs in one. Also this run got west ocean speedball!
The prior PB had a great first half; I expected to be in the red most of the way. However, as it often happens after more runs against a "great" segment, it wasn't that great. It was very good, but I had pulled ahead of it at Wrecked Ship E-Tank on this run despite botching moat (did get bailed out by Phantoon). Then I botched the next segment, but pulled even with it again after hitting full halfie. This run was also +15 at early supers, so three rough stretches and still able to keep up with the first half. Unfortunately draygon fight wasn't clean and then it took four tries to ice clip into springball, and then had a couple rough splits after that. Still even at +1:06 at aqueduct supers, I knew this run could PB, and in fact I had caught up by Blue Brinstar. Unfortunately I lost the lead at MB2 and entered the escape one second behind but running against a gold. I was able to keep up until the final room, where the game mercifully kept the steam away so I could gold the last split by over second, just edging out the other 1:26:36.
