As a casual SM player who always saves the animals, I love that you've incorporated that into SMI. I recall hearing talk about creating a category where saving the animals is mandatory, and I appreciate that you've personally decided to make it this one. But at the same time if it's WR or the animals, let em' cook and get that record. XD
To see the favorite game of my childhood still so actively played is truly amazing 😁 Love watching your runs man Congratulations , and greetings from Croatia 😊👍
Well, they gonna have to change this name to "Super Metroid really really really difficult" seeing how Zoast just toasted the shit out of it. Well played sir, always inspired by your content.
My idea of sm impossible was more along the lines of just being stuck in the first room in ceres getting smacked around by Ridley but you’d probably find a way to beat that as well. Gg zoast, see you next mission.
Wahnsinn...Was für ein Run! Die paar Fehler, die etwas Zeit gekostet haben, kann man an nur einer Hand abzählen. Echt beeindruckend. Der WR ist wahrlich mehr als verdient. Glückwunsch!!!
Going from barely sub 2hr to now sub 1 57 in only a month, so impressive to see that much time saved. But then again it's Zoast vs a Metroid game. We know the outcome is always eventually gona be a WR. Congrats!
Zoasty, you are a machine! Beautiful new run. Something about the whole moon-dance sequence break had me puzzled for a while, but I think I figured it out. So in the moon-dance/Dachora room, you shoot the Reos within one hit of their death, but you don't kill them-and you can't kill the Zeelas yet. So after you take a hit from the Zeela and do the moon-dance, you kill the Reos, and I'm guessing that's so you can farm the health from them. 'Cause you take an even 90 damage down in the Beetom spike room (just before you get the PBs), 3 spike d-boosts. So you needed the full health for that, I presume.
correct! it makes the beetom room comfier and faster to be able to take 3 hits, although there is a strat to do it with taking 2 hits as well if the drops don't pan out.
Awesome video and game play! Wish I knew of all these tips and tricks when I first played this game. This by far is my favorite SNES game. Thanks for sharing!
@@mangodotexe Yes, sometimes I take my time getting these public on youtube. This is the final vod i have for SMI 100% though. I'm done with the category for the forseeable future. I do make my more important videos available early on patreon, hence the early comment.
@@franciscojimenez1573 Since it wasn't answered, this is preparation for a floor clip at around 9:29. I don't know the specifics but it causes you to just zip through the floor and to the bottom.
Yeah he's stacking fall speed. I think he uses the frame rate of the SNES to his advantage so one frame he's over the floor and the next he's under it, avoiding collision detection.
Stacking fall speed so he can clip through the floor on the next room. It's also used in the reverse boss order category if you want to look for more information about this bug exploit.
If you think about it this map is set up to be speed run. Play the original game. Get the screw attack before the space jump, then you know how good you really are.
It's the same underlying gameplay as OG Super Metroid, but with a lot of changes to monster stats, item placement and room layout to make it fiendishly harder. If you are really, really good at the original game (not Zoast level, but
It's a romhack, but basically yeah it's heavily based on the original game, just tweak for extreme difficulty. It's an old romhack made by an old TAS author.
It's a bug exploit. He's stacking fall speed to be able to clip through the floor on the next screen. A trick that is also used in the RBO speedrun category if you want to look it up. I think this is to use a route that's faster than the intended one. Or maybe it's just the normal route in this ROM hack.
yeah, it sucks, connection breaks on it sometimes. someone pointed it out at 1:14:48 and I got it fixed at 1:19:10 when I was able (during elevator transition + item fanfare)
Try on Super Nintendo. Thats what im going to do later. This is Not on Super Nintendo. Plus he has a Good Controller. All mine are gummy from being used over the years.
you act like im hiding something... im just playing a romhack, if you dont like romhacks thats fine but no need to accuse me of stuff just b/c of your ignorance
romhacks are common, the name of this romhack is called super metroid impossible not sure if these comments are serious or not b/c you logic here would not make sense to speedrunners
