Tom Poston could have gotten buzzed for his picture-taking gesture when giving clues for Camera. SOmetimes they buzzed for gestures, sometimes they didn't. This show was always inconsistent on judging, except for the fact that they didn't allow a contestant to get credit for a bonus round word if they said it after the celeb said PASS.
You're definitely right about the judging inconsistency. I mean, I'm glad Debra won the money, but Tom's motion was clearly too direct. If Florence Halop couldn't get away with an unconscious finger twirl for "spiral" (see Janet/Wendy 2/3 on bjp20's channel), then this definitely shouldn't have flown. This was aired only a few months after that, too - if I were the contestant in the clip I mentioned and I saw this episode air, I'd have my lawyer on the phone so fast...
I think it depends on the contestant... her eyes weren’t on his hands but just forward. This is also why one of the $55,000 wins were wins despite what the celebrity did could’ve been considered an illegal clue.
