The Lions advanced to this year’s #SuperRugby Final against the Hurricanes on Saturday 6 August after claiming a deserved 42-30 victory over the Highlanders in Johannesburg
Congrats and well deserved Lions, as a Kiwi you guys have proved to the rest of the world that RSA can adapt and prosper against our amazing NZ rugby style. Showing flare, speed and continuity along with strength and power, the bread and butter of RSA rugby. I'm just hoping our mighty Hurricanes can put a stop to your barn storming ways. Good luck in the final but not too much aye lol.
Wow looks like the Lions will really push us next week. whoever wins will have deserved it, both the Canes and the Lions are undoubtedly the two best teams of this year... and we will have a brand new champion... the only thing that could perfect next week's match if we were playing the Lions in their impressive stadium at full capacity, that would have been a spectacle.
agreed.. these two teams are definitely both deserving and the top teams of this year's competition. im actually looking forward to the lions playing in wellington, the stadium isn't the the biggest but its one of the hardest places to win and i think this will be an intense game with two teams that can score from all over the park... good luck hurricanes* and lions* despite who wins or loses im sure this will be a game that both countries can be PROUD OF.
@@Juicy_slut21111 Utter bullshit. Firstly, Siya is better than him on current form, being the leading line breaking forward of any top 10 nation in internationals this year. Say what you want about him, he has played well enough to justify his inclusion. As for Oupa... selected in one game this year, which was essentially a B Team playing against Wales in the US. It was injury that took Kriel out of the Bok team, followed by a move to the UK at a time when he knew that would mean he was not eligible for selection. That was HIS choice, not a colour issue at all, so please take your hatred elsewhere.
Finally, a team outside NZ that is a force to be reckoned with. I'll be cheering for the Canes but all the best for the mighty Lions!! Let the best team win!
''That's racist'' what that dumb ministry of sports fella needs to know is that we pick on merit not skin colour if it was up to me that team would have 4 black men in it elton, skournal , lionel mapoe and either the beast or lions number 23 also damian would go for rohan
This is a reverse apartheid bet you in the next 20 years south africa will be full of blacks sad and I have nothing against black people just goverment ruined a great country
Ah man, a few years we had a great Lions team to watch! Man I hope coach Ackermann comes back and start a LONG term Lions resurgence. What a great team this was.
Would like thank both teams they played wonderful rugby.looking back at lions 3-5 years ago, they didn't do well In super rugby franchise and compared to we have just witnessed thier,,all credits to them.to the highlanders' rugby,it didn't went according to plan but yet again..we we loose a game.. It teach us a lot. Now competition is getting very hot now days cause underdogs team are doing the talks In rugby field. Once again thank you super rugby..just a little comment from here in Fiji islands .
You know um looking at the comets for the past 2 matches and pipol be like lions won't beat this and they beat it and then they move to another club and claim lions won't pass, what are u gonna say when they beat them all and win the cup? are you gonna say they wouldn't beat New Zealand?
Poor defence by the Highlanders. Couple of soft tries let in. Naholo needs to learn to come up and take out / tackle the ball carrier instead of running backwards. Dixon needs to learn to tackle hard. Good win by the Lions but through a couple of soft tries due to substandard defence by the Highlanders.
Good for you... You are going to look like the biggest idiot if the Hurricanes lose XD... At least the Lions aren't treating the game like it has already been won. Every game is different and if the Lions turn up on the day, they will win and visa versa. Last time i checked, the Lions knocked 2 NZ teams out of the comp in a row, so don't bring this sh*t about the conferences because you know the Hurricanes played the Kings, Jaguares, Force, the Reds and the Rebels who combined make up 5 of the bottom 7 teams. The Australian conference was much easier in comparison... Btw, i'm not claiming that the Lions are gonna win, just that you are being stupid if you think its a done deal and that the Lions had it easy getting to were they have gotten
+Rabbits310 1st game of the season with a totally new midfield and 2 new locks would do that. The hurricanes wiped their ass with the Lions 10 weeks into the season with a healthy squad.
Looks like its Lions v Hurricanes 2016. It's good to see these two teams make it to the finals. Will be a first championship to either winner. GL to both teams,,let's goooo Hurricanes!!!
What they've shown is that RSA rugby can move into the new era along with NZ a lot sooner than we would have liked, however it's up to the rest of SA to adopt the Lions mentality, I say mentality because obviously as already demonstrated by the Lions is that the skill set is already there.
I think we play it better than new zealand does and maybe i'm been a bit patriotic but if you've seen these fellas play it's like the all blacks danger always
