Congratulations 🍾🎉🎊🎈Brother 👍💥Those Shorty Q’s are a blast ! They will put a smile in anyone’s face even E-word guys and newbies will have a smile on there face when controlling one! Have a good one talk soon!
RC Maxx UK yes it is lol 😂! That’s why I used that Heavy duty skid plate from Rovan on the new chassis I had to install because mine snapped completely off separated in 2 parts . There a blast so much fun and funny as hell sometimes! Good luck 🍀👍 with yours . I’m going to beat mine up
The back part of the wheel wrench is not for carrying the tools but for unscrewing shock caps(it usually is anyway). I love the look of the baja but im kinda afraid of the fuel tank position i just hope its well made and will sustain the exh heat and some hits.
Correct on the Tool Buddy :-) It's used for holding the Top & Bottoms of the shocks during servicing them, Both for undoing the shock tops, and the shock shafts during build/rebuild :-)
Joel's 'Shock' obsession :-D The Yellow wheel tool, the top part of that is used to hold the shock ends during servicing :-) Not for holding tool's ;-) Have fun with it Bud :-)
hahahaha.... i just like smooth shocks!.... and hmmmm not a word i'd use to describe these for sure! ;) good to know what the tool is 4 ;) and something i should def look at using if i want a decent shock action hahahaha
@@RCmaxxUK I agree, ALL Baja shocks have never been that great, And these are the same as the rest, It would be nice for some 'super shocks' But you're unlikely to get that on a budget vehicle ;-) Yeah the 'Yellow' tool is used for holding the shock 'tops and bottoms', It allows you to hold them when unscrewing the shafts or tops :-)
Hi mate I have just received my shorty Q baja I also have the king motor 1/5 scale baja and a rovan 36cc LT360 truck 4wd ..now like you I’ve had HPI cars and Honestly IMO the king motor/rovan stuff is just as good 👍 rcmodelz have been fantastic in supplying them and there after sales is brilliant..I’ve subscribed to your channel as I like the way you come across to people like myself..keep up the great work ..cheers jase
Looks ok for the ££££ dude👍....agree on switchblade....never had an issues with one which roger didn't sort out 👍......looking forward to seeing this in action
i should look at the shocks for sure... if anything though mate they are already too stiff. i would be looking for a softer spring if anything...esp up front where there is zero weight
@@RCmaxxUK being a rovan they will losen up in no time at all. Definitely check for oil.. Same in the diff too and all the bolts are tight n thread locked where needed. I still have my hpi baja 26 after nearly 5years although it wasn't stock for long, I changed almost everything but the chassis and its still really good, I'll probably never part with it.
@@kevslife what your opinion on chassis strength? i was running it locally in a confined space.( running in) tapped a wall ( i thought lightly) and its bent the front chassis area a bit. My friend that runs baja only has bent 4 or 5 chassis himself and says its a big baja week point. i need a kick up/ front chassis plate for sure!
@@RCmaxxUK A nose plate on Any Baja is a MUST HAVE item, The front nose is the weak point for Any Baja, They'll bend, twist, and snap there, It's their design floor/quirk, And one that's always best to address sooner rather than later :-)
hi mate. I did have a std baja a cpl years ago... had a few issues with it though and went losi and tbh the quality feel of the losi's has kept me away from the baja platform. This short one though seems different enough to give the platform another go! fingers crossed its good!
@@RCmaxxUK same with me had the kit 5b and it such a let down for the money, it cost me about 800 and I still had to spend much more just to run a full tank but do think Rovan Baja with 200pound spent in it would be fine
JR RC Video's hi mate. The guy that owns it is very happy with it. However I think he bought it used for around £400 I think. Not sure what the new price is... so you have to take that into account. Be prepared that all these rtr km and hpi may well need some upgrades to strengthen them depending on your driving style and expectations. I for example bent the front kick up on my rovan shorty after what I felt was a fairly soft front hit. Just when I was running it in. A mate who’s baja savvy says a front kick up plate to strengthen that area is a must and was not surprised in the slightest that it had happened 😂
@@RCmaxxUK thanks for this mate coz want to get into petrol RC all of my RC is electric so been watching your videos coz don't really have any idea on petrol 😂😂 so been trying to do some research thanks for the reply mate
JR RC Video's no worries mate. Ask away. Happy to help if I can. I guess my advice would be to get the entry level baja model from rcmodelz. £380 I think it is. That way , it’s a new car... so u have some after sales and help if something is not right. It’s cheap so u are not too much £ down if you don’t enjoy it. It’s not been abused as it’s new so you are safe from buying someone’s used and abused junk that’s been tarted up. All models can be upgraded! So yes In an ideal world I’d buy a used fully upgraded model that’s been a shelf queen and is being sold at a bargain price! But they r hard to find and u can get stung big time. Good luck mate. 👍
This baja comes with a crappy quite pipe now. I wanted one with the dominator pipe. Now its gonna cost another 159 bucks! The new dual exhaust is too quite and a power killer.
Justin Hardy hi mate. Yes I do like it. I have managed 3 sessions with it now. Only 1 after doing a cpl of modifications. ( wider stance / different wheels and a chassis brace plate) still need to sort the tank breather. It’s a fun 1/5 and it’s small... which helps with storage / transport and just general ease of use. I do think I’ll be selling it soon though. Need to run it a bit more and get that on film for you all to see. 👍
@@Meyers2strokeRcgarage u r right tho, l have 2 baja's. One is full alu rovan and other one l bought it second hand original baja 5b. Both are really good. For me there is no performance difference etc. Also l like rovan tire's in this video too. l will order back pair. Also thinking to buy 3 speed transmission and this cnc metal pull start.I never got into losi or kraken etc.Just too expensive in my country. Baja's engine sound enough for me
