Nice set up man! I have a similar one, but this is the route I want to go! I have a 2019 F350 with 20” Fuel Cleavers and Nitto Trail Grapplers! Also have an 2020 Eagle Cap 1165. And.... a 5000watt inverter run to island to run coffee maker and satellite box. I’ve watched your other solar/inverter videos. Totally cool!!!
I'll be looking at 41s soon, thanks for the details. I'll be on an F-550, do have to make sure aluminum can handle the weight but better braking distance would be huge. Enjoy
I have stock aluminum mrap wheels to. Did you use the Hutchison bead lock bands inside the tires to pinch the bead of the tire up against the wheel so it holds air? Was told I have to do that or have the wheel lip machined down to fit the bead of a 335/80r20 since mrap wheels are made for a 395/85r20 that has a taller bead.
@@free_lance_living yes, the wheels need to be remachined or you need bead locks. DBL Design does this to all of the wheels they do so beadlocks aren't needed. Even without them, the wheels and tires perform very very well
How are the Perelli P22s performance on the road - descent tread life? Did they measure a true 41" x 12.5"? I am thinking about putting them on my truck. Any info would be appreciated. Thx
Are you running any lift ? I understand that both Buckshot & DBL run 2 - 3” of lift. Looking to build similar when I retire in a couple of years time. Thanks
Happy for you! One downside, I would not like the excessive tire noise on the highway yet I suspect you could use ear plugs for some peace and quiet. Great rig!
Not really that bad. Yes louder than 19.5 tires. but for most driving its really not that big a deal. Most local driving isn't bad and long distance you have windows closed and radio on. After the 3 drive around, you don't even notice.
Can stazworks build these in 8 lug for a 350? I want to convert my F-350 dully to super singles on 40's. Not really concerned with the weight capacity so much as the off road capabilities. My flatbed/camper setup will likely be a pop-up.
Hey. Why does everyone swap to singles? I was hoping to level kit my f 550 and put some semi aggressive 35's on it. Truck camper on the flat deck. 4x4 yes, off road capable, yes. Not extreme though. Even video on here has singles. Why? Thank you. Ian.
Thanks for sharing The Good Bad and Ugly 👍 I am waiting on my IBSP permit and am looking into a VIAIR compressor. I have an F-250 with 265/75R16 E tires at 85psi and was wondering if you still use the same VIAIR? I want to deflate to 15psi and air up to 70 and think an onboard setup to get it done in a reasonable amount of time is the only way.
Actually, I try not to use the VIAIR system. It’s a fantastic back up, but takes a long time going to the filling station works vastly better particularly if you get two people one on each side filling at the same time. Still not a bad idea to have it.
Great video, Questions 1) what are you airing down to on soft beach sand ? 2) in the video 1 person lifted & put the MPTs onto the hubs...how much does the wheel & MPT combo weigh ?
wow super nice. i love these tires. i got a 1999 f350 dually that i wanna do a single conversion to. did you have to use any special adapters or wheel hub?
I have a 1965 F500 NAPCO 4x4 with a GVW of 20k. I'm seriously looking to ditch the original 20" widowmaker wheels and go military 6x8.75x20 with these tires.
How many lbs can those rear tires carry each? It's insane you can carry an *Eagle Cap* on a _SRW_ truck! Is the truck gas or diesel? I know you want off-road capability but isn't a dually safer for a camper that *huge?*
You should down load the Conti specs which tells you what speeds you should not go over with these tires. The Conti spec will also tell you what psi to set the tires are based on for the weight you’re carrying per axle for your safety and life of the tire. FYI I have 20k on my tires and I have been cross country twice
Idk if their specs can be trusted or not, but I know for a fact that the MPT81 335/80R20 continentals can safely travel above 100mph. I don't remember at what load you'd enter into the dangerous zone with those speeds, but they can do 100mph.
what's the point of hauling around the spare tire? I noticed on the PT 1 video, you still had it mounted. that would seem like a no brainer, chuck the spare it is literally dead weight. you're not able to use it, and you can't put a 41" tire up there so idk, to me it seemed like a candidate for weight reduction. nice setup! :)
The thought is that in an emergency. IE. get out of the woods. Down a fire lane to main road etc. It would be very unbalanced, but likely better than nothing.
Camper fits like a glove, everything looks just right!! Watched another video and that set up looked horrible, camper did not fit that newer f450....19.5 looked whimpy also..
I think it can fluxuate from state to state. And even truck to truck. The wheels and tires cost money, but it can be all the upgrades and modifications to make it work that are equally expensive. I would expect to pay somewhere from 9k to 17k.
Any vehicle that drives on the beach is subject to inspection. Mostly on weekends. But I never seen them measure tires. They usually look for the required equipment
They can do over 100mph. NJRE is right. They're rated at load Put it this way: what tires does the Devel 60 use? Pretty sure they don't change them to different tires when they hit up the drag strip...
The frames in these trucks are not big enough to support the weight. Ford got really cheap with frames in the last 15 years. keep an eye on it for cracks right behind the cab. Inspect with high intensity light once a month.
If you have a problem somewhere, who could possibly fix these? If you are not going off road then why not save all that money and drive with the 19.5's? Lost of folks do it. I don't understand this.
Can't air down 19.5, We go on beach all the time. They handle better, truck rides better, looks better. If you have a problem, which is very rare since it sort of a military set up yes, you need to call a truck service to bring out new tire. It's a vacation truck, not rushing to appointments and schedules.
