The only reason it's looked so down upon is because it's less 'competitive' than Melee due to balance changes, change of pace, new characters and new features. Personally, I love both, Brawl definitely has a more casual feel compared to Melee which is fine with me because not everyone wants to play competitive.
@@darthgamer6080 exactly, brawl is by far the best Smash, just hear at that Sound Track, the solo mode with an amazing history, they put so much work with this, the game art was about serius fights not cartoon fights like the last two smash.
@@erickgabriel3603 Preach bro! Melee is my childhood and will always hold that special place, but older me enjoys Brawl more and it is highly underrated in my opinion, also the intro music is so much more powerful and makes me so much more hyped to play and kick ass
This game was so cool. From the character designs, to the music, to the story. It was so cool seeing the stitching on Mario's overalls and also looking like real denim jean overalls, then tell me you don't get chills everytime you hear the intro, and the story was like Avengers for gamers.
Fuck. 😭 I don't care what anyone says, THIS was the best smash bros opening. I remember the first day I sat down, put the disc in and my jaw hit the floor at how far videogames had come. This grandiose song was the perfect hype train. 2008 was so full of hope.
I remember when this game came out back in 08, my brother and I were beyond excited to play this game and we would listen to this theme song religiously when ever we booted up the game. Now that it's been over ten years, listening to this makes me cry in the best way possible, thank you Nintendo for giving my brother, friends, and I the best memories a kid can ask for.
@@eloygarcia9221 ultimate actually helped. It got people to see the lacking story from the recent two while making the wiiu/3ds less relevant while getting people to move on from melee
Ppl saying brawl was bad, they just never played this game or they are just saying that because Ultimate had less characters, but no matter how many characters there are, this will always be the best
I think it has a lot to do with game valence. Bc from what I’ve seen and heard of competitive brawl meta knight and Icies are both extremely overpowered.
0:18 probably my favorite shot in the intro simply due to seeing my favorite Nintendo character portrayed in such an epic fashion brings so much joy to me. Plus, it syncs really well with the song.
Words cant describe how excited i was when i bore witness to sonic speeding across green hill in this game for the the first time The moment i realized to of my favorite characters mario and sonic finally throwing hands
Ahhh the memories from 2008 and ‘09. I was much more lighthearted and innocent. Not to say I’m not lighthearted or innocent these days. It’s just that the past few years have been challenging. The only struggle I had when this game first came out was homework from school. This game always has a special place in my heart. I even remember that before I completed the subspace emissary, I was trying to complete the Great Maze for so long. There were a few times when I thought the maze was just a goose chase or something. But one day I finally finished reviving all the fighters and went through the right door. And my prayer was answered that day. I finally unlocked Sonic as a playable character in the story and defeated Tabuu. And then the final cinematics played and I couldn’t believe that the sub space emissary was over. I still get emotional to this day. I hope there will a Super Smash Bros movie one day…. A Nintendo Cinematic Universe
I love intros that scream in your face! Its the best feeling and it gets you hyped! And I’ll always remember seeing Ness, Marth, Sonic and Snake in the intro, but then open the game and they’re not there. (This was before i knew what unlockable characters were)
It seems that only the first scene where all of the characters are shown and the title screen are in 60 FPS :( It makes sense that it’s not - the game’s cutscenes used up a ton of space on the disc - but I wish the whole intro was in 60 FPS.
the only part that is in hd is the part where the characters are shown on the cliff and the title screen itself. they are live rendered on the wii. the cutscenes are videos. the characters on the cliff are actually 2d sprites that billboard towards the camera.
this has been and will always be my favorite Smash Bros. the amount of nostalgia and memories i have with this game is wild, it will always remind me of when I was in Middle School and I would just play it for hours on end with my friends after school. sometimes after school, my grandma would take me to get snacks and i would come home with a bag of Andy Capps hot-fries and Dr. Pepper with some Skittles in a slice of pizza, sometimes we'd get McDonald's or Culver's, and my friends would all stay really late and we'd all take turns on the absolutely insane custom stages me and my brother built. (my favorite was a map i made comprised of with straight line of falling platforms called EVIL, where my favorite song Butter Building played) a particularly fond memory i have of this game was when i was in 7th grade, around my birthday in December, i had a particularly weird first semester because of surgery that i had during the summer for scoliosis, and for my birthday a bunch of my friends came over and we got pizza from Pizza Hut and spent the entire night playing the game having just the craziest time. i don't speak to any of them anymore and that was the last time i saw some of them. the last time i played this game was when i was still in high school at the end of my freshman year, one of my friends with moving and me and my ex had just started dating, and we spent the entire day playing the game and i showed them all of my old maps and screenshots id collected over the years. i do like the newer games, and maybe it's because im older and it's been almost 12 years since then. time flies i guess. but there's a general flow and magic this game had that the newer ones lack, and the older ones just don't have for me. thanks, Sakurai.
Starting from 1:07 brings tears to my eyes. I miss the old times playing this game for hours after I was done doing my homework. This was THE smash game that I've poured so much hours, love and time into. I keep checking how many hours I have in Ultamite. Just a mere 130-ish hours. Compared to BRAWL, which I KNOW I had over 3000 hours. The story mode I'd complete in every difficulty I could do. The custom stages, the amount of time I've just booted up this game for it to be my personal Spotify and just listen to music as I do my homework or something else. I truly love this game and I dont care of how hated it is because its not "viably competitive"
I Remember So Much Of How I Would Listen To This Intro Instead Of Skipping Because, This Intro Is Legit One Of The Most Nostalgic Intros I've Heard In 9 Years
I'm pretty certain I'm the only one who did this, but whenever I watched this intro as a kid, I would actually mute the TV and put on the Crush 40 version of "His World." To me, it matched so well and was rad as all get out!
Brawl might be bad as a competitive game, but it has the best intro, the best story mode, and every song here slaps, meta knight might have been broken but tbh, as a kid who just played the game for fun and with friends, no one ever noticed, I picked it cause I just love meta knight
To many years had pass from the last time I play this game but it doesnt mean that I forgot those stories and this intro only gives me good memories of those times
I heard a tale, regarding of a man Who faced his enemies and brought his country to freedom I heard a tale, regarding of a man Who walks among the land and scorches all into ashes I heard a tale of that warrior I heard a tale of that warrior Worshipped by everyone, I also worship him Dreaded by everyone as I do And now, he’s by my side And now, he’s by my side And now, I am not alone Friends with my heroes Along with their foes of their narrative Then everytime we fight, enter a time When our spirits will strongly shine!
It just hit me that the cliff in Ultimate where they face Galeem is the same cliff in Brawl during that intro part. Also, the only reason I even got this game was because I couldn't remember the name of a Smash fangame, and my mom thought this was it. (I only had Melee at the time, and the fangame I played was Super Smash Flash 1.)
My childhood. I was born in 2010 but my family had brawl, I was someone who ate stuff like disks so this was no different. I never beaten the story mode, got to Zero Suit Samus + Pikachu part. Like if there’s 3 levels with them like the 2nd level.
