Hopefully Magolor and Magolor Soul will be next if there will be a new Smash someday There's only a normal Magolor Spirit and not the transformed evil Magolor
In the Sakurai presents video on Sephiroth, he stated that Marx was going to be a bit more creepy in the original Kirby Super Star but was changed for obvious reasons. Granted Marx is no where as creepy a Zero Two, Dark Matter, his soul form, or Void Termina.
Both, @@marioman42069. They remedied that with Super Star Ultra having Marx Soul, and from what I've heard/read, Marx in SSBU had to be _toned down,_ since the game would have gotten a higher age rating if they hadn't.
@Ryan Pham They had to make changes to Marx battle because originally it would more scarier but Nintendo feared that original Marx battle alone could age up the rating so they had change a bit.
I love how Sakurai was just like “Hey, Hal.” “Yes lord sakurai?” “Remember how Marx was kinda scary?” “Yeah…?” “Well make him 10 times scarier in smash.”
Actually this attack was made for the very first Kirby game, which was way before the switch, and that switch sound is Marx's bones literally snapping as he opens a black hole, the sound was a revamped version.
@@radredguy5828 Super Star is not the very first kirby game. The very first was Kirby's Dreamland (GameBoy) and the final boss is Dedede (Marx appeared for the first time in Super Star)
If you put his death scene in slow motion and pause at the exact millisecond at 2:24 when Marx (true form) turns into normal marx, you can he’s smiling even when he was defeated.

So, fun fact, I just recently learned that my brother has a fear of Marx… I have no idea WHY he does, but apparently when he played Super Star Ultra and got to the final boss, Marx REALLY freaked him out. He even gasped in terror when he showed up in Ultimate, after almost completely forgetting him. So thanks game, I now have one fact that I can completely embarrass my brother with. Edit: Holy Cow, my brother actually has people he can relate too!!
@@lukecrawford7051 Don't worry, your brother should be fi- *remembers that Marx was originally intended to be creepier in Smash Ultimate* Actually, be grateful that he had to be toned down, and don't tell your brother about that little fact.
According to Sakurai himself during the Sephiroth Direct, some aspects of this fight were too creepy and had to be toned down. ...If this is the Smash Marx we got, what the hell was scrapped?!
@@Austar7 Even as a Kirby fan his new attacks caught me off-guard. Most likely, the developers put them in to surprise fans who thought they knew everything to expect.
And not only is Kirby assigned to fight him at the end of his classic mode route, but Inkling, Rosalina & Luma, and Sephiroth, too, although Sephiroth fights Marx in the middle of his classic mode route (which only contains bosses)
Beating his normal form in super star/super star ultra:he crashed in nova Beating his soul form in super star ultra:*demonic scream while he is split in half* Beating him in super smash bros ultimate: **LITERALLY BOUNCES AROUND THE SCREEN WHILE HIS WINGS GET SHATTERED**
@@ElFreakinCid i love how tame it looks, but the second you start getting into final boss territory, it rips off its mask and feeds you the most traumatizing things you could ever put in a kids game.
Something sad I realize about this now, imagine how this must feel for Kirby in-universe. In this scene, he's essentially been sent back to the very moment he fought Marx. From Marx's perspective, he just finished collecting all the star power in the universe and becoming God while Kirby was sucking everything up like a fat boy at a Golden Corral, but from Kirby's perspective, this is someone he already fought, someone he already defeated, someone whose act he already helped clean up, someone who may have even helped him defeat Void Termina... And now it's like none of that ever happened, and he has to re-defeat the past version of someone he now considers a friend, who doesn't know what Kirby knows about him and is somehow displaying even more frightening powers than the first time.
FOOOOOOLS!!! While you were freeing spirts awaking fighters and fighting ganon and Dracula I gathered all the star power in the universe and became GOOOOOOD!!!
Of all antagonists in Kirby, and this is how I see it: Marx is probably the only villain of Kirby who ALMOST has no redemption whatsoever, because of his history with Kirby just to continuously take over Popstar.
Nightmare, Dark Mind, Necrodeus, Yin-Yarn, and Star Dream don't strike me as the redemption type either. Hell, the entire Dark Matter race only got "redemption" recently because of what came up in Star Allies.
@@poifferfoshssocool rule 6 of Kirby lore: if a special mode has Galacta Knight in it then it's not canon unless he's in the actual campaign. I'm pretty sure he's in guest star allies.
"while you we're sucking everything up like a fat boy at a Golden Coral, i gathered all the star power in the universe and became GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!"
one thing to say about the marx scream: i don't find it especialy creepy but the marx soul one really Really REALLY freaks me out despite people saying it is the same one
Funny enough, in his original appearances I never found Marx to be that creepy, but this game made me see why people are creeped out by him. Especially with his new attacks.
Maybe its because Sakurai himself created Marx but he is probaly the only boss who is genuinely better in Smash than his original game. Its not even by a close amount either the improvement is so much greater.
Yuck! The sound effects they used are so gross. The cracking and snaping when Marx splits in half, the flesh noises when he sprouts those roots/veins (I think they were veins? Ew), the scraping noises with the pitless eyes! They really did a good job with this boss! Kirby bosses are so wondrously horrifying.
Unlike the other two Dark World bosses, Marx doesn't have a weak point. Attacking any part of his body will damage him. That said... he's much more mobile to compensate.
You can only attack his... head? Body? Torso? it's the only part of him that you can attack. Meaning that his hitbox is big for him, but small for you. He also has the smallest hitbox in the game.
I was never a fan of the background this fight. The moving background in the super star games enhanced the strange and ominous feeling of the character, while the one here just feels... standard
This boss along with Dracula actually had me shaking in my boots 😨 Marx is one... Seriously creepy and twisted boss😨😰😱 Edit: also 1:21 that attack made my skin crawl...
He should have come back after the true Ending as Marx Soul and absorb Darkhon and Galeem. One of his Wings could have changed to a Angel and the other to a Bat Wing while his Colorsheme changes to Black and White.
I can't believe they added my son in Smash Ultimate! (If you're gonna say things like "He's not you're child!", I know he's not my child!! That's just a figure of speech!! ...or whatever it's called!)
