@@bubbythebear6891 For me, the debate between Ken and Guile for best theme is similar to the debate between Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI for the greatest RPG. Guile's there is more epic, but Ken's theme is more fun. That's how I see it anyway.
I wasn't even born until the 2000's and yet the music from SF2 makes me nostalgic. To be fair, Street Fighter IV is something I am genuinely very nostalgic over.
"has no lyrics" It's good mostly BECAUSE it has no lyrics. I hate almost all songs because of their lyrics. Most of my favourite tracks have no lyrics in them, like this deeply inspirational track of Guile's theme. Guile's theme really DOES go with everything.
As you will come to learn, music is the real reason many things are good. VIdeo games, movies, and tv would be a lot more boring without music. Songs are the unsung hero.
@@Rishi123456789 Lyrics can be most poetic, depends on the songwriter obviously. And also the melodies/harmonies in the vocals are another, well, voice in a mix. But instrumental stuff is just as powerful or often more, so I get you.
Still slaps. Back in the day this was one of the stages you wanted to land on in the arcades cause it was just so freaking dope. The atmosphere at the arcade cabinet was intense, with folk juggling that control console like ballerinas jockeying to start that massive combo on their foe. Complete madness! Sad those days are long gone but man when I hear this tune it all just takes me back. It really made you feel like you entered a slicker new world. The pixel art holds up like mad still. Just amazing.
I was only born in 98 but I really wish I could have experienced the arcade era, specifically the era of SF2. It's sad to know that due to online gaming arcades will never be a thing again and I'll never experience that.
Guile’s Theme is by far one of the coolest video game music tracks ever! It just carries an aura of strength and power that can get anyone pumped, I love this song so much!
This song really embodies the American ethos during that period and how other country’s viewed the United States. Yoko Shimomura did a wonderful job of putting that patriotism, machismo, optimism, and a never give up attitude on display. Unforgettable track and among the best in video game history.
@@christosmalamas7526 It dosen't need to be exact to be infringement. With the Airforce setting, bleach blonde fighter, and the original theme they wanted to use (ken's) sounding almost identical to the chorus medley from Mighty Wings by Cheap Trick which is on the Top Gun Soundtrack. Give it a listen sometime, the resemblence is uncanny.
A little over a month ago, my friend and I turned in our very last papers of our respective college careers. The moment it was done, he suggested that we turn this on. And what do you know? It really does go with everything! Coming back to it now, I gotta say: couldn't have asked for a better friend or a better way to end our time at college
translators forgetting about Chun li they probably thought no one would pick her anyway cause the gaming demographic was mostly men , It also happen in sor 1 . In the Japanese version of sf 2 he says go home to your family
americans hear soviet anthem, they became russians russians hear guile theme, they became americans *russians-americans and american-russians point to each other as old spiderman
Before I knew about Street Fighters story I just thought this theme was just epicness incarnate. Still is. But the moment I learned about Guiles partner, Charlie and what happened. I know now that this song has more sorrow and determination in it than I realized.
Funnily enough, Guile's character and stage is based on Top Gun, and Cheap Trick did a song for the soundtrack of that motion picture. The composer of Street Fighter 2 created what became Ken's theme from that song in the movie.
When I was a child, as an Italian, after seeing Top Gun and playing SF 2, when I thought of the United States this is the image that came to mind.... Marines, a jet fighter, a badass sergeant.... Is there anything more American?😂
I will sometimes sneak this song in on rotation in the kitchen at work when we are really in the weeds, and without even noticing it you can tell all the other line cooks pick up the pace and start knocking out tickets as fast as they are coming out of the printer, plating absolute dimes like ballet dancers performing their most beautiful dance at the gates of hell. Puts a smile on my face every time
The fact that i had to seek out this song all over the internet till i found it proves beyond reasonable doubt that my generation millenials had an awesome childhood.....THANK YOU CAPCOM
This should be our National Anthem. I’d sign the petition twice with tears streaming down my face and red, white and blue fireworks going up as a screeching Bald Eagle (that sound is really a hawk) flies over and an electric guitar riff playing out of nowhere.
