i like how his ultra hits like 1000 times on animation but the hit counter only shows 2 hits...it's like he hits SO fast that not even the counter could actually count how much hits he landed during his buttrape ultra.

His demise can be attributed to old age and leukaemia; not to a lack of fighting ability. Remember, he was one of the three people alongside oro and gouken, who akuma felt was worthy enough to fight him.

I am so glad this is how Gen's theme turned out. Like, they took his old SFA2 theme, extended it, added some traditional instruments but maintained the synthetic feel that you got from the SNES. If only they did that Ryu's theme. HIs SF2 theme sounds MORE Japanese than his SF4 one....

Gen is definitely one of the most proficient fighters in Street Fighter, but you seem to have a few things mixed up. Gen and Akuma fought twice. The first time was during "SFA2". Akuma realized Gen was sick and he abandoned the fight. The second time they fought was during "SFA3". Everyone assumed Akuma won this fight because Gen wasn't mentioned at all until "SFIV", so everyone's assumption NOW is that the fight ended in a draw. Ryu defeated Gen in "SF".

Also Gouken defeated Akuma the first time they fought and Akuma's battle with Oro came to an unknown conclusion, and since Oro is still alive it is possible that Akuma lost.

@iPotatos Akuma was about to finish him but forfeited when he realized he was ill. However, Gen survived the Shin Goku Satsui. Only person who could do that was Gouken and he still ended up in a coma. Gen could counter that attack unscathed. Story-wise he can defeat nearly the entire SF cast. That is true.

***** well in the old days, Gen was the conquer of the underworld. He was so powerful he even defeated death itself. Then all of a sudden he caught some sort of deadly illness. Rumour has it, death gave him the sickness, in an act of revenge. He was supposed to be dead a long time ago, but he kept going. He only wants to die by the hands of someone worthy. Since death wasn't enough for him. When he fought akuma, Gen demanded that akuma gave all he had. But during the fight akuma realised that gen was ill, even though gen had the upper hand, akuma would not allow the fight to continue. Now, gen wants to stay alive, to protect chun-li until she is ready.

I read in the forums that one time.......someone fought Gen in a online Match.. Last thing he heard was... "You cannot hit what you cannot see" Never heard from the guy again. =(

@GanonAkumaFan He trained Chun-Li due to being friends with her father, and if I remember Yun and Yang are his nephews (I know their related to Lee, Gen's friend and the other original Chinese SF1 character). His affiliation though, who knows.

I've never read the Udon comics, but according to Capcom, Ryu sought out Gouken after succumbing to the Satsui no Hadou during his fight with Sagat. Of course, he came to realize that his master was "slain" by Akuma. I guess talking to Gen about the matter seems plausible since he can nullify the Shun Goku Satsu, but I doubt it's canon since Capcom already established that Ryu wanted answers from Gouken after defeating Sagat.

@PikminExpert Yeah, it ended in a draw. But, he did survive a Raging Demon. The only person to do that is Gouken, and I think he ended up in a coma. That makes Gen the ultimate badass.

@almost human I will leave you with the way you word your statement. But it stated that after ryu beat sagat he copied ryu style in a attempt to beat him. In other words he did not use tiger or tiger uppercut, which is not muai tai, till after he was beat.

Do you prefer this theme? Or his Street Fighter Alpha 2 theme? If you don't like either one that's fine, but I'm interested in wether or not you like street fighter 4's music as opposed to the older games.
