Take your legs out of the overhead press with these two kettlebell pressing variations. Kettlebells Chair presses and Zydrunas Press with barbells are great as well.

Awesome advice! Only one thing missing... Big Z must be given his due!!! Second exercise is the Z-PRESS! ALL HAIL ZAVICKAS, history's strongest presser.

i respect that!!! what more would you like to see?

I would like to see TGU but with focus on the transition from the ground position to the position right before you stand up. This is the part I struggle with. I believe there are also variations where you stand up from a squat like position (two legs) versus the more common lunge or single leg version. Great job as always with your vids Joe! :)

wouldn't it be better to do Turkish get-ups instead? I mean for shoulder stabilization
@kettlebellmusclegain
@kettlebellmusclegain 8 лет назад
turkish getups are in my top 3 exercises . they are wonderful but this is for Pressing Strength . getups arent pressing as the elbow is never next to the body. but yes they are on of the best for shoulder stabilization.

Watching your right hand press I thought 'man his hand almost goes straight up, compared to mine which travels out a little' then when you did your left press I thought 'yeah that's looks more like mine'. Is there something tight there creating that movement?
@kettlebellmusclegain
@kettlebellmusclegain 7 лет назад
yes. tight and injuries. nothing wrong with that just always strive for better movement. mine changes as i get better or have more mountain bike crashes lol.

So I'm clear it was more a question of my form than a critique of yours. I had a look at other channel and some such as these curve round, probably more like mine. should I strive for a straighter movement. I'm going to have a go at your 2 reps/30 seconds for 40 rounds.

Another of your videos probably has just shown me the difference in out forms ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OWcD0QoaoQw.html Something to look into (but just did your interval press, so maybe for another day)

That's a great idea. Was thinking of ways to challenge myself with only lighter kettle bells and weights
@tricepsish

Would you recommend hypertrophy rep ranges for this as well?
@kettlebellmusclegain
@kettlebellmusclegain 8 лет назад
+tricepsish yes. That mindset is paramount for longevity in training. And life, so good for nervous system

How much do you train with barbells, dumbbells and other training modalities? All those kettlebell guys I see don't usually look as muscle bound as you.
@kettlebellmusclegain
@kettlebellmusclegain 7 лет назад
the beauty is that i use kettlebells i am not Muscle bound. just have lots of muscle tissue that is flexible and not tight.

SwingThis Kettlebell and Strength Well, you look like you lift. But you still have not answered my initial question ;) You do any barbell movements, or is it mostly kettlebells?
@kettlebellmusclegain
@kettlebellmusclegain 7 лет назад
yes I deadlift, once per week front squat every two and occasionally bench just for fun. BUt most of this mass is from the way i train with kettlebells.

Great content on your channel Joe , I recently got into using a kettlebell any tips for incorporating the kettlebell into an existing weight training program? I do a 3 total body split with compound exercises and some assistance work would like to use the bells weekly but don't want to overtrain.
@kettlebellmusclegain
@kettlebellmusclegain 8 лет назад
thank you!! its been going for a while. i would just pick 1 or two exercises to add or replace as assistances . example. on a deadlift day, perhaps do kettlebell swings instead of romanian dead. on a Pressing day, try pressing kettlebells first then barbells second. or vice versa. on a pulling day add cleans

Thanks Joe! Will try to work them in , was doing them on my off days I underestimated how taxing it is on the whole body and was hurting recovery , looks like I have to take my bells to my powerlifting gym and get some "wtf are you doing with those" remarks haha looking to start Jim Wendler's 5/3/1 next year and he recommended them for assistance work already feel the bells helping with the main lifts. Thanks again for the advice Joe it's good coaches like you that will help people not be so linear and live and die by barbells and Dumbbells. Much support and will share your videos best of luck on your way to hundreds of thousands of subscribers.

Heck yeah they are wonderful for helping strength lifts. in many ways. 4 or more years ago i asked wendler if he liked kettlebells for improving lifts. he told me straight up he didn't believe in them. Now he does and Ive seen him use them in videos etc. . I have a hilarious message string to prove it. Happy to help, here is another video you may like. below

Would enjoy seeing that convo I find his writing style entertaining strikes me as a no bullshit tell ya like it is dude. I've viewed that video before and those are def some moves I will try in the future but right now I'm still struggling with my 44lb bells , steep learning curve I find myself muscling the kettle bells instead of flowing through the movements curling the bells during cleans , turning snatches into presses etc no good instruction for them where I live so I rely on channels like yours to learn the movements but they are definitely staying in my program
