@@Nightshade_787B The only people I see raving about this sound have never heard one in real life. It was even louder than the F1 V10s but with none of the (rather limited) musical quality. Everyone has seen and heard it on RU-vid but it was a horrible, eardrum shattering screech.
from 3:35 to 4:30 that is the greatest short clip I've ever seen, 787b, chaparral LFA Nurburgring edition, then Horacio Pagani drives by in a huayra like wtf! all within a couple feet from each other. Incredible!
@@Manushinki_22 It wasn't fastest by any means. In its 21 starts, its win at Lemans was its only podium finish ever with the other 787s finishing 6th and 8th. 21 races, 0 poles, 0 fastest laps, 1 podium/win. It's a very interesting piece of history but it was by no means a dominant platform. In qualifying, the fastest 787 was over 12 seconds behind the pole Mercedes and about 8 seconds slower than 5th and 6th places if that puts it in perspective. Mazda ran 717, 727, 737, 757 and 767 cars before or along side the 787s...with the 767 beating 2 787s (one retiring for engine failure and the other to a fire) in 1990 but all of that is forgotten and the 787 became a legend despite its one win and one other 5th place finish. Were it not for that 1 win, Mazda's entire 7x7 racing history would be forgotten, which would be very unfortunate. The development of their cars and different things they tried is fascinating starting with a 13b, a couple 3 rotors and the final 26b we all know
It's funny, at the beginning all the newer sports cars & super cars were looking amazing & sounded cool but then the vintage race cars were like "let's show these youngins what it means to truly be bad ass." They stole the show. Every one of the legendary vintage cars looked incredible, sounded mean, & made the younger generation cars look like rather plain grocery getters 😂😂😂.
For me this is actually true, i was thinking "WOW LOOK AT THOSE PORSCHE! THEY ARE AMAZING!" Then arrived the older cars and I was totally shocked by them, their form is so cool to see!
WOW, what a PHENOMENAL collection of unique and original cars! I don't know what the price of admission to the Goodwood festival, but being spectator to just one or two of those cars would have made that ALL worth it. Thanks for the video! Good to see more people on RU-vid not ruining video's with music whilst the 'mechanical choir' is at work :D.
Bowler, maseratis, chaparral 2j, pagani, Porsche 918, Hennessy venom, e-types galore, and don't forget the epic Mazda 787b… and the 2 transits and a fiat. Heaven
5:16 The Covini C6W is an Italian 2-seat 2-door sports coupé with a removable roof section. Inspiration for the car was taken from the 1976 Tyrrell P34, which had two pairs of smaller front wheels, a principle applied to the C6W. The project was started in 1974, but abandoned shortly after, and left dormant into the 1980s due to the lack of availability of low-profile tires at the time.[1] In 2003, the project was revived and in 2004, the C6W was shown in prototype form ❤
That lot would exceed even Jay Leno's shopping list. Some of the most beautiful and exotic cars ever seen, all in the same parade. And a Fiat 500 as well. Maybe it was lost on the way to the carpark.
Much to the annoyance of my better half, I have a compulsion to name exotic cars I see. This video has sent me into an OCD meltdown, haha! Amazing cars and some properly rare stuff. It's nice to see Horacio driving his new baby at 4:12 too. ;-) Thanks for uploading the video as I was unable to attend this year. :-)
As a car guy, all i can say is that every car i saw was awesome, say what you like about the new doesn't mix with the old but i believe they truly do, old vs the new baby! :v
i just about had a trouser accident when that 787b went past, also sumo power GT-R sounds like a beast when its going full tilt, i had the pleasure of seeing it at snetterton a few year ago
@@grennickyt1396 The 2J because it was banned from motorsport since new rules were made where a car could only have 1 engine, so trying to race it is impossible, and group B replicas because it was outlawed completely.
