I've got 37,300 miles on mine as I write this sitting in it. Had it for over a year now , bought at 17k. Smiles per gallon bro! check if your fuse box itself has internal grounds in addition to the main ground to the panel itself. Each fuse connects to a circuit with an internal ground for added safety in some cars, if you keep blowing fuses i would definitely look up if that is the case in your car.

I think you should add on the collection of mustangs. Just my opinion.

Before doing the suspension, I think you should take smurf out onto an autocross. It would teach you a lot more about the car, and what really needs to be improved suspension wise.

Hey David. It's amazing how far your car and channel have come. Welcome to the 100,000 mile club. I'm at 131,000 miles on my 06 gt that i bought brand new in 2006. I'm almost ready to retire my baby. Transmissions going out, ac actuator motor is making noise, intake manifold is leaking coolant, paint is fading but I've had amazing memories with it. I'm about to move on to a 2015 5.0 and will put a roush blower on it. Have a great day!

My dad owned a 68 and 64 1/2 mustangs. I've always loved the new classic look of the mustangs they are timeless and iconic cars. I love smurf. I love ford and what they done to showcase their talent and creativeness. Smurf will go down in history of the most popular mustangs ever.

Check the connecting assembly for lights. By the passenger foot panel. To the right. Just big white clips. It shorted out my running lights too. Took me 6 months and around $1000 worth of troubleshooting to find it myself lol. I hope you see my post dude.

My 2011 5.0 is a 127,000 and somewhat modified and still running strong! Accept that my AC also went out on me at about 100,000 it cost about 2,000 to fix but luckily it was still under warranty

Ive got my car the same year as yours,and ive done 124k miles on it.. And ive been following the smurf since 2012.. Gotta love the procharger.. 💪💪

HOW TO FIX YOUR LIGHTS: Regarding your lighting issue. Had a friend with this same problem on his 2014 5.0. The issue with his turned out to be that his passenger front wheel actually starting grinding into the wiring harness. Worth a quick check.

David, I know it’s time consuming and you might end up using a lot of fuses, but here’s a way you can check for a short in your wiring harness. Find a wiring diagram for your running lights and print it out. Locate the junction connectors and highlight each one of them so they are easily found on the printout. Install a new fuse, start at the back of the car and unplug the furthest connector from the fuse box. (Including the tail light connectors!) Then turn your lights on. If the fuse blows, you have eliminated that section of wiring behind the connector you disconnected and there is most likely not a problem with that section of wiring, and the problem could be further up the harness. Leave that connector unplugged and cross it off of your diagram. Now move on to the next furthest connector from the fuse box. Repeat the same procedure until the fuse stops blowing. Then, once the fuse stops blowing, you have isolated the wiring issue to a smaller section of wiring where you can take apart the harness to examine for any short to ground or short to power wiring issues. Look for any frayed wiring or corrosion - they can cause electrical nightmares. Also, check the rubber harness insulation that runs between your trunk lid and the body (open your trunk and you should see it) I have seen numerous electrical issues on many different types cars from frayed wiring in this area. That is a common spot where the wiring gets moved back and forth from opening and closing the trunk to where it eventually rubs through the insulation and shorts out. Also, look at the diagram and see what else is controlled by that fuse. If there are other components that also get power from the tail light fuse, an internal short in another component could cause the fuse to blow for that entire circuit. Wish I could help you man but I’m up here in Ohio. I hope that helps!

I've got a similar problem with the running lights, it's likely a bad socket, you'll have to figure out which bulb keeps poping the fuse and replace that bulbs socket, worked for me

That turned my world upside down. And that insert also came out of my 05 GT, around 30K miles. I'll get a ford racing short shifter down the line for it. It will be my first mod. Always said that if something breaks I'll replace it with something better. That will be the first thing.

David, The headlights are an easy fix just get rgbw boards from diode dynamics to replace the old led boards and all you have to do is just turn them on when you get in Smurf. Also the ability to have rgb would be pretty cool aswell I think. Food for thought!

a nolathane/urethane bush kit for the entire car will do wonders for handling also. makes such a big difference!

I understand the relationship between a guy and his car. There is a special bond. How many miles on it now? I've driven several cars over 200 & 300k miles. I have a couple of Mustangs now. My'13 had a problem with the center fog lights blowing fuses. It had to go back to the dealership to fix it, but I still have a weird electrical issue (I believe). My car occasionally will just shut off when downshifting and slowing down to make a stop. It cranks right back up or typically I just pop the clutch and basically roll it off. My car has 47k miles now and I expect to keep it and drive it over 200k. It is my everyday driver and I drive allot, many times long trips of 8 hours and in the late night and early morning thru remote areas. I have complete confidence in this car. A concern for me driving in Florida is feeling stable in heaven rain. This car feel so planted and confident in all road conditions. The main thing is to know when to respect and restrain on releasing the power on hand; to remain safe.

For the knob use Permatex Ultra black. Water/high temp resist. The running lights have an open circuit that's likely grounding out. No other way except to trace. Get a schematic for the lights. And one by one find the short. 😐

Well i have 3V 4.6. You r right about how weak the 4.6 valve is. My engine is stock. Suspension totally worked up but not the engine. I just hit 125K miles. The car is tracked regularly... and it still runs like new. But i must say, i have to redline the car just to "keep up" with others on track. Yikes! But damn...its fun to drive!!
