I still own my 99 Accord V6 Coupe and remember dreaming of installing a CT Supercharger on it back in the day! If memory serves they were $4600 and that was just for the kit. To then install and tune it was another $1500 on top of that! I was way to poor at the time so that dream died. But I still have her... 278k miles on the odom. I'd love to rip her apart and completely refresh. And with her being 20 years old I don't have to worry about emissions to pass inspection. Skies the limit! Awesome little build sir. Thank you for sharing! Trying to learn as much as I can.
@@jay7264 I'm in North Carolina, so it's 20 for us. I'm trying to sell my old turbo kit that was for my Genesis turbo. If I can't sell it I might just slap it on the Accord for fun. lol
Hands down one of the gnarliest Honda engine swaps I've ever seen. It's so obnoxious and I love it. I'm sure it will be wild to drive down the strip. That is if you can see the tree. Lol
This is so awesome! I absolutely love the j series honda motor so much that I actually make custom harnesses and axles for these swaps into 90s hondas. Love seeing them get popular, hasport mounts are king for the swap as well!!
The throttle body will be your biggest/cheapest power adder on this setup. Too small a TB really hurts power on these blowers, so a big radiased wntry is tour friend. Can't wait to see it!
Pretty damn wild! So nice to see Brian still doing it…. And doing it well. I used to sell to them a bit here and there way up from Vegas (Acura) back in the day. Mainly linkages since those were hard to source. Brian had me test on of his solid rear mounts on my EM SI coupe and it was amazing. Good people to work with.
I dont think thats a 07-08 tl base 3.2 motor. Looks like the slightly newer 3.5 motors just looking at the valve cover design and the pcd design as well. Likely a j35z engine. Those engines make solid power until about 6200rpm and then die out
I can’t believe the insight crash was already 10 years ago. My coworker wants to supercharge his Ridgeline and this is going to really motivate him since he’s looking at the CT kit as well.
Wow after you mentioned your crash I had to go see it. Glad you are doing great. Just got my EGK5 Mounts last week love em other than having to modify the passenger side mount since there was no room to tighten the bolt without grinding down part of the mount
@@VTECAcademy ya those j series got some good flowing heads. well all Hondas hahha..I always wanted to do a Rotax j series ... a Rotax b series now that would be some fun hahah.
Suggestions: For the aero for the supercharger I suggest a cowl a simple 7 bend sheet metal that attaches to the hood. You can either weld it on and that would eliminate 3 bends. Next is a inner cooler. and last but not least complete the build on my Nissan 200 SX. I'm disabled and can't work on it anymore. It has a one off body kit that I installed. Gutted cat with 1 to 4 exhaust. It's a 95 model that has great sentimental value to me. It Came right before my daughter did. She's the reason for the car. I can't find a shop that will build it with all parts supplied by Sponsors. There are so many car give aways I don't understand why a You Tube shop won't do this for the content. Any help with my dilemma would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Id love to see you do a 6 speed manual pilot keeping the awd and keeping it looking stock.my wife loves her pilot but dreads the day the auto takes a dump.
I think J would be way more popular if people could make them AWD also, as far as I know only some Acura J had AWD. AWD J swapped RD1 CRV would be a killer winter beater, and super reliable.
@@TrackSol I think you misunderstood the ?? Wich would be better a j swap ot k swap, me I think a J makes more power stock, so I feel it's the better swap but we will see as he makes more videos💪
