The story in this comic may be a little weird but i truly loved the art of Jim Lee. In my mind this is what Superman should be like. No Clark Kent personna, no kryptonite, no cats saving from trees and such stuff. Superman in this comic is serious, philosophic and badass. He is not the classic scout boy we have seen in numerous comics, cartoons and in the older movies. In my opinion, in this comic there is the best Superman i have ever seen and i really love his personality and the way he is drawn. I can say the same words for the comic Batman Hush. In this comic and in Rocksteadys arkham series there is the perfect batman( In my opinion always).
Being a new reader of Superman I was actually kind of let down by this version of him. Only because I was thinking through all of this sadness and guilt he would be the light shinning through it all, but even till the end he seemed always a bit depressed. Maybe I just need to read more or that this is the only story where he’s like this- either way I just thought he was too gloomy(but definitely still badass against Zod).
I just read For Tomorrow for the first time the other day, having deliberately avoided hearing anything. Like you said, it's constantly said to be a priority in Superman books to read, so I was interested. Having read it, absolutely everything you say in this video is SO TRUE! The story was SO confusing, mostly because of it being told in a weird order. Even after I thought it through IN order, it still is a bit nonsensical and not in a good way. The art really is beautiful though. In the future I'll likely just flick through it to look at the pretty picture.
i think for me i would love to see ( Superman For Tomorrow ) in life action big screen , since my favorite Actor Henry Cavill already choose this comic for a Script tease . Rumors at summer sucks but i glad Henry Cavill is still superman i would love to see people get lost , and Superman and Supergirl try to figure it out what to do before they fight at Brainiac and CyborgSuperman . For me in life action and animated movie could be , much better would love to see ( Superman: For Tomorrow ) on the big screen .
I agree I think it would make a good movie. Two good villains and plenty of action for a good summer movie. I don't think it would have to be in continuity either. For the DC movie universe or whatever they call it now. Generally I would like to see standalone movies for DC stuff. I think it suits the stories better. Not sure who they would get to play Supergirl though?
Yeah I thought there was a better arc that could have been he for Father Leone and Superman because I felt like once it ended it was all still very dower. I wanted for Superman to have been happy because he would realize he doesn’t have to move heaven and earth to fulfill a destiny he just needs to live a noble life like his father’s. Also selfishly I would have liked for him to have some sort of come to Jesus moment with the priest, I thought it would be cool if ultimately Superman’s doubts be calmed by him gaining faith in Christ because it was faith in people that saved everyone from Zod’s destruction. I also think there needed to be something with the people of metropia that showed that, though they will always need Superman’s help to save them, they could learn to fight for themselves if need be. I don’t know how you could make an arc for that but I feel like there were so many questions in Superman’s mind regarding whether it was right or wrong and what Superman was thinking regarding his actions. But yeah I think you nailed it on the head lots of plot threads not a lot of things tied up at the end.
One of the worst superman books. It is confusing, the dialogues are horrible. Superman wants to be badass, but he's just a jerk, like Batman, and these two characters have one of the worst conversations ever. I didn't understand the roles of the priest, equus, general zod and why the people of Metropolis were in another dimension. I won't be reading this series again. It's awful.
