Superman IV The Quest For Peace New Recreated Opening Credits 

I don't care what anyone says: I loved "Superman IV" and always will. With all of its faults, it has the biggest heart of all four original films.

Someone has to hire you for a remaster of this film. This movie deserves it.

You can actually read the credits, unlike the same effect they tried to emulate on Superman Returns. Nice work. The people depicted in these credits worked hard on this film and they were proud of it.

A massive improvement over the $1.98 opening for the original film. Nice work.

This is quality work as always! Very nicely done. Now the "S" Symbol doesn't look like a fruit snack anymore and the credits don't look like cards from a solitaire game anymore either.

This in one word was Epic. The intro into the score was brilliant.

Great stuff man, I enjoyed this a lot. I apologetically love Superman IV. If the Snyder Cut can see the light of day I don't know why this wouldn't be an option too.

Was just a little kid way back in 87... Every time Reeve was up and did his Superman thing - simple scene at the UN, gave me chills. Effortless acting. I like what you did here. The space station rescue is our intro, credits, I imagine the next scene is Lex at the quarry prison. If Donner would had just been given free rain, he would have knocked it out of the park. And there wasnt any other competition in the late 80s for this stuff. Only other was Star Trek. Jedi was long over back in 83. Donner would have racked em up, saved the studio's bacon.

Imagine he gets all the Superman 4 deleted scenes as well, I wanna see what he can do putting it all together in the story Christopher Reeve would've had it

Thank you for doing this and this looks amazing! With all the talk surrounding the "Snyder Cut" for Justice League, the "Ayer Cut" for Suicide Squad, and even the "Schumacher Cut" for Batman Forever, I was thinking why not doing something for Superman IV - The Quest For Peace? That $70 million dollars they spent on finishing the Snyder Cut (which adds to the $300 million budget for the theatrical release), would've been better spent on Superman IV! Jon Cryer, who played Lenny Luthor in the movie, said in interviews that the Quest For Peace was basically unfinished when it came out in 1987 due to Cannon Films slashing the budget by more than half! I would love to see them DC and Warner Bros. make things right and honor Christopher Reeve's legacy. I'm sure many are wondering, "Why bother? The movie came out more than 30 years ago!". If they allowed Richard Donner (R.I.P.) to finish Superman II decades after the fact, then they can do the same thing here.

Bravo!! I know there isn’t much footage that is worth re-using particularly unfinished flying effects and fight sequences but IF someone could re-edit and salvage this film there is a possibility that it could be made to look on par with the previous films. It’s a shame they won’t do it as it was Christopher Reeves last cinematic appearance as Superman.

I loved the Superman costume color restoration at 0:06 -0:09. If only were like that on the actual movie; really loved your recreation of the opening credits, and the new 3D earth rotation blends really well.

The entire Superman 4 movie needs a complete new CGI restoration you need to send your work to the people of Warner Bros

This had been recommended to me and I consistently ignored it, today I finally watched it and enjoyed every moment, thanks for sharing!!!! I am a big Superman fan and one of the few who loved IV when I was a kid and find it has some charm even as an adult so I definitely enjoyed these new credits

This opening is simply magnificent! It actually gave me chills. This is the care and attention that this movie should’ve gotten in the first place. It is the last remaining legacy of Chris Reeves performance as Superman. Warner Bros. needs to finally put together and release the 134 minute cut of this with significantly improved special effects. Let’s make this happen.

this film was my childhood I had all the Superman 50s show with George Reeves and all 4 of the Christopher Reeve films on dvd as well along with Superman Returns, when I finished my homework I would watch these films and episodes non-stop

Brilliant my friend. This was seriously well done and well deserved. There has always needed to be a proper re edit to pretty much the whole film. So many good things chopped up and sold for cheap. There was some great dynamics in the film and performances that unfortunately got blindsided. This is a great start to righting the wrong done.

The way you have retained Superman IV’s credits yellow/red aesthetic while bringing back the 78 crystalline design is awesome - best of both worlds.

The whole movie needs to be remastered with color blends, sounds, effects and additional scenes. It has potential if it had a care.

Aaron, you have done well. Your opening credits for Superman IV the Quest for Peace are an improvement Overall. I am a big Superman fan so I am really able to appreciate the work you put into it. Even with no cost the opening titles are much better with your visual effects. 1. The Superman IV title logo being Crystalized looks visually stunning. 2. The zooming in flying credits are amazing compared to the Original Theatrical Credits. 3. The background with the earth and stars looks more current. Good Job.

Now is the time to honour Christopher Reeve's memory and remaster this film. You're the guy to do it, man. I hope you do it anyway, even without WB's blessing.

Overall I think you did an incredible job re-imagining the main titles! Adding the booming sound effects really made it feel like it belonged right alongside the first two movies. I also really like how you added Chris Reeve flying off and having him be a segue into the credits instead of the movie version, which jarringly plops the viewer right into the sequence. Very creative! And yes, having the Alexander Courage music fully remastered really added to the epic tone you were going for in this remake. In terms of nitpicks, I understand how you wanted to match the original sequence in terms of the visuals and updating them. Speaking as a fan, I think it would have been nice to maybe add a little more motion in the BG as we're flying over the Earth so that it's not just a somewhat-static image. What made the Superman credits so cool was not just the credits -- having the audience soaring through space at top speed really gets the adrenaline rushing. Maybe throughout the credits, we could go from orbiting around the Earth to flying through clouds and ending in Kansas where the story begins! But again, I'm nitpicking. It's a stylistic choice. This was a nice remaster, and it makes me wish we could see a version of Superman IV with improved effects like this. Well done!

Really appreciate the research you did, like restoring what was supposed to be a pre title sequence that leads directly to the titles. Even including Clive Mantle. As if your title sequence was made for a version of SUPERMAN IV that should have been.

The only thing missing from Sup IV was Ned Beatty. Rest in Peace Ned. Fly high with Chris!

This is awesome and brings up a lot of nostalgic memories. I wonder if you considered retaining the ONLY thing I liked about the original was the variety of the credits swooping in different directions behind the Earth ? I think the combination of what you did with that would make for something even more visually interesting. But this is great and makes us long for a re-mastered, re-done version of what Cannon criminally funded on this film!

480p output from a Quantel Paintbox would've greatly surpassed what the film gave us; this is, however, *exceptional* work. Kudos!

I just gotta say once again. This is very impressive. A few months ago, I tried this using JUST After Effects, (I tried a Superman/Supergirl title swoosh) After many hours, It came out okay. But your end product is FAR superior to mine. So knowing the amount of time & effort that goes into this, you have my upmost respect. I strive to be as good as you, Sir. Please everybody that watches this; Give this man your absolute respect. Because this ain't easy.

Great work. I think if Warner Bros ever get the film re-edited the astronauts scene should come before the opening credits.

This video is better than all original Superman openings combined. Superman (1978) and Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut did well on openings. But Superman III (1983) and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987) were terrible and lacked on the original openings. What you've done is extraordinary and i'm with you.

One thing Superman 4 really does have going for it. The soundtrack. It may have been composed by Alexander Courage, hemce the slight tweak in the sound, but this was all arranged by John Williams, the Maestro himself
