A rebirth for the most outrageously cosmic SUPERMAN story you never experienced. An Animated Series Created, Directed, and Animated by Paul B. Frieling Nicolas Cage as Superman www.lazydr01dstudio.com/ Instagram: / lazydroidstudio
an animated movie of a cancelled project, cool, oh! They should do that too other dc canceled projects like Justice League Mortal or Green Arrow Escape From The Supermax
I really appreciate how eccentric this styling of Superman is to Nicholas Cage & Tim Burton. Especially since they're known for doing out there and interesting films. Even if his approach to flying lines up haha. This deserves to be at least a one off animated film about his version of Superman.
That’s exactly what some people never fully understood. It’s different and it scares them, so they write it off. Luckily this has garnered a cult following over the years. Thank you for the support.
@@lazydroidstudio8757 You're welcome. And I think your right. Granted I understand how some would rather stick to the regular Superman. However there's always room to do much more than just that while not compromising. Just allow it to exist in its own timeline or something.
This is absolutely incredible. Great voice acting for Lex, music that sounds pretty much what I’d expect of the Superman theme of the Burtonverse, and crazy animation. I was never interested in Superman Lives, but now I need it. Please actually make a series out of this! Can we crowdfund??
Dude, if you did a kickstarter for this and managed to get Nic Cage for this, since he actually does indie projects... oh fuck this would be sick. I've always wished this movie got made.
This is looks so perfect. It may look weird or different, but the concept art for Superman Lives is so good that it deserved to at least be shown in all its splendor. Great job.
I highly recommend watching The Critical Drinker Production Hell Video for the Superman Lives, he goes into a lot of detail about why it never eventuated.
As a kid hearing all the rumors about Superman Lives I wanted nothing to do with that movie. As an adult, though, and seeing the documentary and all the other bits and pieces that have come out about the movie I kind of wish it would have come to fruition. I'm not sure if it would have been a good Superman movie, but I think it would have been pretty bonkers and might very well have turned into a cult classic. As for this short, it's very well done. If they took the script and turned it into an animated movie like this it would be the next best thing to the live action version.
This looks absolutely amazing and I support it 100%. I've always been fascinated by this project that nearly, but never happened. I love the documentary about it. While it might not have necessarily been a great film, it would have definitely been an entertaining one and a wild ride. So I would absolutely love to see this series get made. I am totally on board. This is great stuff. You guys did a fantastic job! I'd buy that for a dollar!
You should make the model of Superman's body bigger and a brighter suit like in the bts of the movie, with that bright blue suit, the regeneration suit and that look a like Kingdom Come suit
You made an incredible piece of animation. I have heard about this Superman movie and the fascinating history of how it was being made. I hope you can make more animations like this.
I just love how took the material from the unmade movie and made it into a solo project. Really good. Do you wish to make a full length animated movie about the "Superman lives"?
Jesus Christ died on the cross for the sins of the world to save mankind from death and hell and offer instead the gift of forgiveness and eternal life. He was buried for three days and rose from the dead on the third day according to the scriptures. Repent and believe on His name and you will be saved! God bless you and your family.
@@joelbizzell1386 It's not even allegorical.. just nonsense. From start to finish. The gospels - at least 4 (officially, anyway) conflicting accounts of an alleged historical figure and none even once mention the date or even which Caesar (just "Caesar"), so it can never really be accurately dated. According to the book of Matthew, Jesus was born in a house (yes, house -read for yourself) in Bethlehem, but in Luke's version (only) he was born in the famous stable. The gospels of Mark and John never state any association between Jesus and Bethlehem at all, only ever saying he is from Nazareth in Galilee. As historical documents go, the New Testament is a C- at best...🤣
I remember reading about the Nic Cage Superman movie in a magazine at BlockBuster in the 90s, I was so excited about it I told my little brother all about it, years later he asked me why it never came out.
This is a great teaser for what "could" have been. Which script are you using, the one written by Kevin Smith or a draft done by other writers once Tim Burton came on board?
Incredible!! I always thought about what would have happened if the movie had happened. People must appreciate his impeccable work in this teaser, with an aesthetic that is very reminiscent of Tim Burton's films. I hope Nicholas Cage knows about this series.
@@francescoardizzoni7498 The big difference between Burton and Villeneuve is Burton actually had a good run with a handful of decent movies for a decade or so before turning to crap .... Villeneuve has always made crap. One of the most pretentious directors making movies today. 😂
@@francescoardizzoni7498 I've watched Blade Runner 2049, Arrival, and Dune .. and I thought they were all dull as dirt, cold, contrived and extremely pretentious. 3 strikes and you're out for me ... I don't need to see any more of them. There's some beauty to his images, but the writing and humanity are lacking. Like standing in a giant expensive beautiful home but you can't touch anything. I don't like his movies. They're boring.
Yes, yes, yes, yes! Fantastic! Magnificent! If Nick Cage saw this, I'd bet he'd push for an animated creation-and-release of this film. Everyone who sees this HAS to share it! Share, share, share! Superman Lives!
Oh man, this is fucking gold. The hardwork you have put into this reimagining is unbelievable. It's the best thing I've seen since a long time. Now I really want nic Cage to see this and react 😂
I usually dont like when movies are casted with characters who dont look traditional, but I would support the heck out of this. Also, plot twist he could totally be bright burn as an adult
With the nature of studios taking elements from different scripts I can see why they don't just adapt old scripts for projects that aren't made but I wish they would. I would love a feature film length for this as well as an adaptation of ZSJL part 2 and 3. I love the tone of this.
If this was a single-shot cinematic animation, I would watch it at the movies. Streaming is nice but I think that something as time-resiliant as this should be seen at the big screen. Nice work. Got me thinking a lot about all this great stories that aren't told anymore.
I remember when this was announced and it sounded so interesting and new especially with Tom Burton directing and then the news WB cancelled it at the last minute. It has always been in the “what if” drawer now with this it looks like we can finally see what that film could’ve been. I applaud you for doing this. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Essa é uma animação que merecia toda atenção da warner porque o capricho e o designer estão impecável e aqui fica meus sinceros elogios pra esse pessoal que fez um trabalho perfeito 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Omg this movie was supposed to have a Micheal Keaton cameo. I wish they would get the fans to fund a series in Tim Burton's style for real. I'm sure lots of us would be VERY interested and the series would get funded.
Fantastic. Really spectacular. The opening plot was one of the best I've ever seen. In 1 minute already explained the arrival of Brainiac and established Luthor. Congratulations!
I actually did know they had originally planned a movie with Nicholas cage as the star. This version looks incredible. I would love to see a complete movie.
Oh I desperately want to see this Ever since I heard Cage was being considered for the role, I wanted to see it If this is/was-to-be an animated series, I'll watch it Just so long as Cage does the voice
I fully feel Superman Lives should be revived as an animated movie. Not as part of DC’s ever growing direct to video lineup, but a bigger budget theatrical film. It could be their own Spiderverse.
Fantastic work. I’ve been obsessed with this potential film for ages, was so pumped for it to come out in 1998. The reinvention to break away from the Donner curse that Superman needed. Finally, we would get to see the true Lex Luthor, and finally get to see Superman’s other best villain, Brainiac. With Doomsday to boot as added muscle, can’t wait to see you animate him. This looks utterly amazing, you even got the details right that superman wasn’t supposed to traditionally fly, but be able to leap far and tall distances, just like the original comic, and the Fleischer cartoon. Kevin Spacey, as Lex Luthor, Christopher Walken, as that creepy mechanical spider brainiac, Courteney, Cox, or Sandra Bullock in the late 90s as Lois Lane, Chris Rock as Jimmy Olsen, it’s a shame we never got this film. The only details that aren’t quite right, he wasn’t actually going to have that long stringy hair. he was going to have a more traditional haircut. With S curl in the movie actually wasn’t going to be called superman lives, that was a working title, Burton and Burton in his book, said the movie was going to be called the superman, or the superman but I can’t wait to see more of this. Can’t wait to see Nicolas Cage, his goofy looking, baggy suit coat, Mickey Mouse shirt, wearing Clark Kent , Nicolas Cage, as superman, and Michael Keaton, as Batman, is offbeat unconventional bliss, the grounds mythological characters in a more believable reality.
I love talking to people that have love and adoration for this project. It’s refreshing. I’m trying to get all the nuances right, but it has been challenging. Concerning the hair, I was always under the impression that Nic wanted it long, the 90’s Superman had long hair and Jon Peters was also exploring the potential of long hair (since that was a 90’s fashion). And Burton himself never completely decided because it didn’t quite get that far, therefore it was sort of left in limbo. Personally, I loved the idea of Superman having longer hair in a movie. My approach was long hair before his death, and perhaps a cleaner cut after his rebirth. And Yes! I’m glad you caught on to the Fleischer Bros. to his flight. Kill the floating supes and having him leaping, the original way. Classic. I always imagined this having a very retro sci/fi feel. Very untraditional to the modern Superman (new 52, Snyder’s version etc.) which has come to bore me. I feel like we lost an elemental understanding of the original character. He’s been rewritten for 85 years, and this project was sort of a reset button. Anyway, happy for your support. I’m really trying to make this a reality. I’m in touch with some obvious names, but would love to talk further with people that truly understand the grand potential of this project. Cheers my friend.
Thank you so much for your reply, you’ve got many of the details absolutely spot on, including brainiac, even looking like Christopher Walken. And you’re probably right about the hair pre-and post death in the movie. I love the Pixar level animation with slightly more realistic details. Are we going to be seeing more superman lives from you? Once again, thank you for the reply, merry Christmas, and keep up the fantastic work.
@@lazydroidstudio8757 I myself was open to the idea of Nick Cage as Superman. A lot of people back in 97 when word got out were not happy with the casting of Nick Cage as Superman. Had Batman and Robin did well in the box office in 97. The summer of 98 would have had The Superman. Damnit Batman and Robin. If I was in charge of WB back in the 90s I would still gone forward with Tim Burton Superman movie.
Ever since I first read about the crazy story of this cancelled Superman movie I been wanting Dc to make it an animated film, this is beautifully done and so close to what the movie could have been. ¿Is this just a concept trailer or the series is actually being made?
