That red crystal was interesting I don't know if in the full episode they explain it but maybe it gives Clark the option to take away his powers and maybe that's how they will take away the half Kryptonian mutants powers

I remember a certain Superman comic when Clark leaves smallville to go to to metropolis on a train and Martha wonders why as he has faster means of travel. His response was that he wanted to really feel the weight and experience of what leaving meant. And I think that was subtly implied in that scene

Yeah while watching it I never felt like “why is he not super speeding over there”. I thought he doesn’t want to leave but he knows he has a responsibility to the world and he needs to go on that journey now and he isn’t going to speed his way through this journey. And that first step is leaving

Kyle does have a spanish background, he called Sara "mi hija"(= my daughter) in episode 2 when he was wainting for her in his car after her psy appointment, and in this episode, right after he finishes singing that song to her (which is definitely spanish), he says to her "i will be right behind you mi hijita"(=my little girl). So yeah spanish, not armenian lol

We usually get CW shows a few months after but it's strange how we still haven't had a date yet! ... oh I'll be watching it when it arrives ... it looks like the best mash up of Man of Steel/the old Supeeman and Lois and Smallville with actual real world problems ... 👌

No, that's not the right word. Jonathan was being illogical and once he sobered up and calmed down, he'll come to that realization himself. At that young age, every little thing that happens often seems like earthshaking life-altering events.

I think that's what the writers were intending. To us and Clark, Jonathan was the one who convinced his father to let Jordan play football. To Jonathan (at least in that moment), he was venting and took his anger out on both Jordan and Clark. To him, those two people took something away from him and he wanted to let Clark know.

That Kryptonian-like villain kinda reminds me of the eradicator at the beginning of the superman comics in rebirth. though it has been a while I read the comic, it was a villain that kept saying WE to superman as if it had the souls of all the dead Kryptonians. Derek said WE are already dead before dying so it could be a reference to that villain but I would have to read the comic again to know more.

There’s a episode in Adventures of Superman cartoon where Lois goes into another dimension where Superman is working with Lex due to his Lois being killed. So maybe the writers went a different direction with this series.

I think the machine that Leslie Larr uses gives one power at a time and in this case Derek Powell got Flight as the second ability but couldn't contain heat vision and Flight simultaneously leading to his body burning out from the inside out. The X-Kryptonite is not stable with human DNA unless Morgan Edge has some sort stabilizing agent like a Kryptonian DNA to keep his subjects whole.

I think he may be an alcoholic. Lana seemed upset that he was drinking and the daughter overreacted to Jonathon’s drinking. They seemed to be in a good place last week. If he does have a drinking problem, I can see where Lana just shuts down.

@@joebond545 As someone who has a family member who had a severe problem with drinking I can say that Lana's reaction makes total sense for someone that may have had to go thru either drunken rage or, even more terrifying, finding him passed out but unable to wake him as there have been cases of people drinking themselves into a psuedo coma. Not to mention if it gets bad enough and he ends up going to a call while drunk he could get himself or others killed. She probably does get that he's hurting and extremely upset but you cant let alcoholics use that as an excuse otherwise they'll just get worse and worse.

It's very likely Sarah friendzonedJordan because she was attracted to Jonathan. Weird Oedipus complex stuff. After seeing Jonathan's drunk antics, it probably reminded her of her dad. Her yelling at him could be a way to let out her sexual frustration. I wouldn't be surprised if Jonathan and Sarah end up together.

I actually agree. Took forever for me to start this show because I saw that CW made it. If you are interested though, it's nothing like any other CW show. Surprisingly great quality and writing.
