Season 1 episode 1 with Captain Luthor coming from another Earth and testing Clark Kent's powers brought back to Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman when John Shea's Lex Luthor wanted to test Superman's response time as to how quickly he can save someone or prevent a natural disaster.
As someone with a special needs son, between Jordan and the rest of it I had WAY more tears in the first 15 mins than I was expecting from a CW superhero show. Man.
I work on the show as a grip. Tyler is one of the nicest actors I've ever worked with. Definitely deserves the positive reviews from you guys. Way to go
@@jasonlang9074 yeah, typically a full season of a CW superhero show is 22-23 episodes. Superman & Lois was originally 13 episodes I believe & they bumped it for a couple more. So technically it’s still a shorter season.
I watched it with my dad. That’s how much the Superman character means to not just me but him. Superman has been around for decades. And my dad and I watching this pilot with the family and farm really was something special because he was a Superman fan as a kid. They did this character justice. It was like watching a movie because of the hbo team. I hope hbo can stick with this show since they are making a green lantern show
@@mikenjenn72 that's what I don't get either he was confused about the twins at first but for the intro of the show he talks about the day they were born like how tf you remember the day the twins were born but not that you had twins?
I honestly prefer Tyler Hoechlin’s portrayal of Clark Kent/Superman, as he presents this more realistic, human feel to the character, a take on the hero that we haven’t really seen since Smallville. Clark may not be human, but he’s still a person with realistic priorities like:family, normalcy, and the importance of the bond between father and son. I find that Tyler Hoechlin nailed the role perfectly
exactly. he even says they have history on "his world". just like how super girl and flash all exist on the same world after crisis, now that lex (different from the one superman knows from his earth) exists there too.
I loved everything about this show, Superman, the kids, all the drama and great storytelling, and for me this is one of my favorite versions of Lois lane, the actress is great in this role and the character is written super well too. Love it all
I hate him so much already in a good way 😂😂 reminded me of when lex almost killed superman in superman return still hard for me to watch superman almost get killed even by a human
@@Juan_x_Pedro it's more cinematic than the first season of Arrow, and the graphics of Superman and Lois are far better than most shows in the Arrow verse.
@@AJ-jv1wh Only in visuals. This show perfectly represents the hopeful uplifting optimistic and finally the real superman. Unlike in the mos garbage of snyder. I'm so glad that garbage snyder and his trash Injustice man is removed from dc for ever. James gunn can finally give us a comic accurate superman like this series
I got a problem with General Lane's, "Superman doesn't get to have a normal life." Superman is an individual, who gets to choose what kind of life he wants to lead. People are lucky he chooses to give as much time as he does.
@@laramiaizz a comic series turned into a tv series on Amazon prime. That just finished season 1 with the best eight episodes of 2021 and has already been booked for two more seasons.
The implication is that this is Luthor from a destroyed crisis earth :) as the showrunners confirmed that although the pilot can stand alone but there will be a lot more heavy references to the extended arrowverse (including characters from arrow and flash slated to appear) to keep it vague enough but to know that it will tie into the larger universe :)
MY understanding was this show was made in partnership with HBO max like stargirl is and thats where its budget is coming from compared to the other arrowverse shows
So glad you guys are reacting to this series. Here's some fun facts you should know 1) it has a big budget: the same visual effects studio (rodeo FX) which worked on Zack Snyder's justice league cut, wandavision, falcon and winter soldier is ALSO doing the VFX of this show. 2) hbo max co financing this show with cw 3) the flash S1 writers are writing this show that's why it's so good 4) it's renewed for S2 already 5) diggle and jon cryer will appear
Idk why I'm just now watching this show!!! I should of watched it first came out cause I'm loving the first episode.. The visuals are crazy for a show and its already made me cry and I'm not even done with the episode! 🔥 Edit: Holy crap finished the first episode! I'm gonna love this!!
Who is looking for a ship at a farm in the middle of nowhere? Obviously, no one has found it or even thought to look and since they didn't live there, the kids weren't interested. If the kids found out they had powers in metropolis, they wouldn't think " let's go to the farm to see if we can figure this out." I get what you are saying, but it was literally hidden for years, so what would moving it do?
Superman freezing the water to put out a fire is a reference to Superman III. Which makes that the second time CW has referenced that movie, first being when this Superman fought Brandon Routh and Brandon said this isn’t the first time I went crazy and fought myself.
Definitely was surprisingly enjoyable and maybe it’s because it’s a very different look on Superman with classic beats from the comics with a little CW drama which not always enjoyable but hey I’m excited to see where this goes
The drama isnt trash tho, the kids stuff was actually interesting when they were talking about how everyone in the town is getting a random depression, and the kids seen like real good actors
@@ThePandaaa Its a separate thing now but the first season or just the pass two season was closely to the arrowverse since they had John Diggle and Jenna Dewan as Lucy from Supergirl.
Wait a minute, you all waited until the second episode is coming out, to react to the first one? Okay then. Reacting to the second one? Pretty please?😅
Lex in the fight with Superman here says something along the lines of my home was destroyed so i think hes a alternate earth lex who built the suit to take down superman but also keep him from dying from being out of place as was seen in Batwoman
Superman can literally make diamonds, his access to means to make quick cash is something I never got why the writers never explored. Instead, he needs Bruce to buy back his family's farm. There are literal asteroids in our solar system that are made of gold yet he is broke?
Superman & Lois is best TV superman stuff since Smallville. Reminds me of 2016 Superman Rebirth comic by Peter J Tomasi. It shows the "real" Superman, not like the disaster we've been watching from last few movies.
@@siddharth_0771 true, I love Superman, even if he's not as epic and badass as Thor or Batman (whom I love as well), he is what he was first made and meant to be, the best humanity and its hope put together. But sadly people who watch superhero movies or shows just for epic fights and CGI will never understand these deep characters like Captain America and Superman. They will always be seen as "boring" because they are good.
“Laser him Clark. Show him some manners” I loved the episode but that is exactly what I thought. I hope it doesn’t take 3+ seasons to mature. The rest is great.
I was so hesitant to watch, because I wasn't wowed when they showed up on the crossovers, but they both killed it in the Pilot. I am definitely on board. I just hope it stays at this quality. I hate to say how much I have started to watch The Flash out of loyalty and not the storylines. And I loved that show so much, just like the first 6 seasons of Smallville.
I think that's Alex Luthor from another Earth, another survivor of Crisis, maybe the reason he's not vanishing is because maybe he has something that prevents him from vanishing out of existence. Because we alresdy tackle this before in Batwoman and Supergirl after the events of Crisis when it comes to dopplegangers.
I'm so glad I don't have to be up to date with the Arrowverse for this show! It made me worried to start at first and goodness is this a leap away from the usual quality of other CW shows. I'm glad this and Stargirl are getting some of that HBO help! I missed your guy's reactions :)
It's kind of a Bizarro (Ha!) Smallville. Instead of Clark in Smallville before he became Superman, it's Clark after he's been Superman for a while, now moving back to Smallville with a family. Who knew that the way to make Superman relevant to today's generation was to make him older? But I'm here for it. Also, am I the only one who caught that Jonathan bullies his brother a bit? That might that might intensify as he just got taken away from all the kids who made him popular in the first place, and with Jordan suddenly receiving a lot more attention.
Maybe because henry superman been in twi movies both were bad things happened to him like the comics the world turned on him yet he still died from them plus anyway I love both
@@bhughessr20 Henry's Clark is not this charming and lovable and Lois too. The Lois here has more characteristics not just being a boring Journalist. The opening of Superman saving the kid is so good. I want Superman to be a relatable person even though he has powers.
Glad you gave it a chance after all. When you asked on twitter, I was sure you would get a lot of comments similar to mine about that its watchable without full Arrowverse knowledge, but I get a lot of people being sceptical of that since its characters that we originally saw in the Arrowverse.
I'm so excited for this show - i honestly didn't know what to expect from it but I absolutely fell in love with it. And I really do love Tyler's Superman, I was low key freaking out about him the entire time haha
from that first scene Lois didn't really seem that into him until he said that he was Superman and then all of a sudden she was Head Over Heels omg makes so much sense
This was a funny reaction guys. I send you a HUGE high five for that Master Chief reference because basically you're the only reactors who mentioned him.👊BTW the show is amazing I've seen 3 episode because I'm translating it in my country and if this is gonna be the new standard for CW DC shows I'm happy and this show is pretty good to start this whole Arrowverse after Crisis because it's pretty much a reboot.
Love the new series, I hope it has a long life like Smallville. It seemed more grounded in reality with family issues, when compared with Supergirl. But still maintains great action. I think the opening scene with Superman and the reactor was way better than Superman III.
