Saw them a few years ago in Galway performing John Williams' pieces, they was absolutely glorious! This theme will always be THE Superman theme, Williams summed up the superhero theme perfectly.
If you ever get a chance to see the RTE concert orchestra grab it with both hands. I was there once to hear the music of John Williams. Lord but it was good.
Listen to the "Superman main theme" conducted by Spanish composer Diego Navarro and performed by the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra. Let me know what do you think.
This is a very good version of this theme. Many others I've viewed play the opening fanfare too slow and/or the march too fast. Being a smaller orchestra, they can't quite do the piece justice; they'd need two more cellos and a stronger woodwind section.
This is one of the greatest themes ever. Zimmer or whoever, nobody will even come close. No disrespect to Zimmer who is still one of the best nowadays.
Try listening to a track composed by Hans Zimmer and then listen to another track composed by him.Now Try singing the first one. That is REALLY hard to do, because you will find out there is little difference between the first and the second track.
you say this but..... that doesn't mean Hans Zimmer ( who produced the music for POTC) doesn't use pretty much exactly he same stuff twice..... /watch?v=0pUMErk9ung
This music, although good, is so 20th century... Zimmer music reminds more of the world we're living in - harsh, sometimes dark, but very complex, and the music is challenging enough to make Man of Steel appear real, living in this world, not in a comix book...
