The original Eagles from Space 1999 are probably my choice for flying machines, and for a ground vehicle, I'd go for the Terrahawk Overlander. Both craft have modular design, making them capable of carrying different payloads. I also liked the look of Sam Loover's saloon from Joe 90, which wouldn't look out of place on today's roads.
Fireball XL5 and Stingray are a tie for 1st place. The Space 1999 Eagle is a worthy 2nd place. However, rules be damned, nothing - NOTHING I say! - will ever reach the acme of perfection that is Thunderbird 2. Some people may feel differently, but they're wrong.
It's joy to watch all these tec talks. And for me this one was perfect! Though I do have a question. Was Professor Maclean involved in the development of S.I.D? I can see from General Stryker's reaction. It might have been hard to keep the Professor on track 😄🤭🙂. Well, a 62 old fan was just curious. Keep up the great work, I look forward to seeing everyone again especially General Stryker. That aside, I met Ed Bishop at a convention in Saint Louis Missouri many years ago. I hadn't realized he'd been ill. The first thing I did was welcome him home again. And we talked for what seemed hours. A fine man I wouldn't have minded keeping in touch with. He had leukemia and I have lung cancer. Please pass this to my fellow Cancer/Leukemia Warriors and Survivors. Keep fighting! Let others know what we know. That you lose only when you QUIT fighting. DON'T QUIT, no matter what stage you are at.( I'm stage 3.) This is a LIFE SENTENCE not a death sentence. It it a rough road, but with and groups to boast us up. And don't be afraid of mental health counselors who can help too. Oops... I'm little off track here. Keep up the good work. Cheers!
This brings back many fond memories. I used to watch these shows from Supercar onwards. Don't remember their earlier "country and western" show Space patrol was on around that time, however NOT a gerry and sylvia Anderson production.
"SUPERCAR" was the first TV series Gerry Anderson produced for Associated Television and its subsidiary ITC Entertainment. (The last was "SPACE: 1999".)
I like;Ufo,but,I’m too young to remember:Supercar,or,the Stingray show.Also,it took me awhile to see;Captain Scarlet.Those vehicle’s were amazing!I would say;the vehicle’s in;Ufo and Thunderbird’s were 😊 lovely!
I've forgotten the amazing names the had on the early shows . . Yes . Am that old. Remember he had a show called space station something. Before x-ball 5. Anyway, good show👍😊
The only Anderson sci-fi series before Fireball XL5 was Supercar. Could you be thinking of Space Patrol, a series by Roberta Leigh, fearuring the Galatosphere?
I'd go for any of the Fireballs. Probably not XL5 if I had to have that lazoon come with it. Does the Eagle count or does the Supermarionation universe exclude the live action series? Can Rocky be regarded as part of the universe or is that too way out either as non-supermarionation or as a non-vehicular mode of transport? I ask, of course, purely to be awkward. It has to be a Fireball XL.
I would say;the vans from;Ufo.But,I also like those;vehicle’s that have an international camera,or,a van to help recover a Ufo,unless,it get’s blasted by one of the cannon’s on the van.
did the Russians get their inspiration to make jet fighters from washing machines from Gerry Anderson making the supercar control room from cooker parts ?
