Beautifully and accurately said! I can also recommend Gothamista's channel on Korean beauty products - she is like an Asian-American Lisa, very calming and knowledgable about skincare.
Yes, Gothamista is one of my favorites too. I recommend also +BARE (Stephanee/StyleByBare) she is go-to for K-beauty for oily/deeper skin tones. They're both amazing.
It's so rare these days in beauty on RU-vid. I like full on looks but they are everywhere, all highlight and contour. Lisa just exudes sheer class and skill
I love your videos! I work with troubled teenage girls (felons) and I am always trying to teach them to find the beauty in themselves, naturally when it comes to makeup. It has worked because over time they have learned to master the natural, 'french' look that I find in your videos. Teenagers really don't have someone in their life that can show them about makeup. Knowing how to use makeup properly really lifts their self-esteem so that they want to finish their education and move on to proper jobs! Thank you!
Dear Lisa, amazing tutorial as always! Here's how to pronounce Kjaer Weis: Kjaer is roughly pronounced like the english word 'care', but with a soft j in it. Kind of like you pronounce the letter Q, so: 'qare'. Haha. And Weis is pronounced like the english word 'vice'. Love, Thea from Denmark.
I was just about to write a comment like this :b I have been thinking about it since the Organic Burgundy Look - and I think the easiest way to say Kjær is: K-yeah (: I love these videos where it is a mix of conversation and memories and make-up (: The perfect way to use my Friday morning (:
I almost cried when you were telling the story of when Yasmin had helped you. We all have those moments where an act of kindness stays with us. That's why I always try my hardest to be good to others... you absolutely never know when you might accidentally change someone's life by going out of your way to do a good deed.
perfect example of why people should relax about all these creams and products and procedures...it is DNA...either you are born with it or you aren't. no need to fret.
Yes, but she also said she's looked after it a lot because its only one time, you mess it up once and its done! When she was talking about teaching her kids not to use wipes and look after their skin.
Aneesa Shah no, i don't forget she is a model...that is the entire point. She doesn't go above and beyond to take care of it or do anything extraordinary...she has damaged it in the past etc and still looks like this. that is GENETICS...not products. products just temporarily change the look of your skin...they don't do anything to improve the elasticity, wrinkles, plumpness, etc
Thank you, thank you, thank you for doing makeup on a "mid-life" model. So much of the time it's either on girls or mature skin with wrinkles. There needs to be more for women who are a young 50.
excuse me? congratulations! you managed with one sentence to show exactly what i was trying to say. i was not referring to the women in my life, but about the ones that are so publicized today on every means of media.
Let me just say that Lisa's comment section is one of the nicest out there! This just proves that positivity attracts more positivity. You guys are great!
I really enjoyed this video. I became a model straight out of high school '79. The model agency taught us how to apply makeup as well as nails and of course how to walk. I had quite a lot of work, I loved it (runway was my fav). Eventually the agency owners split & I decided I had enough. I loved Yasmin's stories brought back lots of fun memories. I watch via Apple TV so I don't get to comment regularly but this one I had to go on computer to make a comment lol Love you Lisa! xOx Janet @felinesxhugsx on twitters
I don't know how old you are Yasmin, but you look absolutely gorgeous!! You're such an amazing person! Great sense of humor and your inner beauty really shows! Thank you for having Lisa film you and hope you come back for another one!! Cheers lovely! 😍😍😍😍
I see why you adore her....she seems so down to earth and fun. Someone you call up to say..."meet for drinks I need to vent" and she would be right there! Great video--I learn at least 5 things each video.
Nick! Nick! Nick!!! I feel like he wears a ton more than Simon, especially back in the 80's, PLEASE HAVE ONE OF THEM ON! Especially while they're not touring right now!
I had to pause the video so I could make a cup of tea because this is like sitting in the living room with you two! I'm Yasmin's age and adored her back in the day - she's still so beautiful and funny and charming. Thank you Lisa for such a lovely video.
I love how she talks, in terms of sharing stories. She also looks at you (the audience) as if it was a group conversation, like you were there with her and Lisa 😊. I agree that she is so beautiful and skin is perfect!
Oh myyyy... She is 51?! Is she a vampire or something? Lol. Seriously, she is absolutely gorgeous and seems like a very down-to-earth and lovely person. Just like you, Lisa. I loved this chatty video and the look is beautiful. Thank you! x
DNA aside....being married to Simon would definitely give me a 24 hour glow! thank you Lisa for Yasmin! She's one of a kind and a powerhouse of a beauty! #90ssupermodelrules
I read the title, so I knew you had a guest, Lisa, but I got completely shocked that it wasn't you on that thumbnail!! I was so certain, I just thought you had a different style makeup on! Wow! What a resemblance! Excellent tutorial as always, and Yasmin is lovely!
The story in the end of the video got tears on my eyes.. I am quite hormonal currently. But it is soooo sweet and I really know the feeling. I had experienced the feeling of being alone in an airport in a foreign country, and found that I lost my passport and boarding pass, and I was alone there! It was also my first trip ever to another country ever. So I can really relate to that feeling of helplessness. If there had been someone who helped me at that time, I would have been forever grateful to them. So I am so touched both of you have built your relationship in a very good way.
Yes it was Nairobi airport, it was hot and crazy busy and I honestly couldnt imagine what I would do if I hadnt got on the flight. Yasmin was a big deal and could have just looked after herself and went off on her way to New York (many would), I always remembered her kindness and caring nature, above everything else x
Yasmin is such a natural beauty who really needs little done to look stunning - always has - and it is refreshing to see beauty without having to put lots of makeup on. Fresh faced.
I don't usually comment but Yasmin was such a pleasure to watch and listen to! She had such a lovely sense of humor and, of course, a stunning face. Please bring her back for another video! And as always, Lisa your work is stunning.
Please do get Simon, or better yet Nick on here for a beauty chat like this!!!! That would literally make my LIFE!!!! And how can Yasmin be so darn pretty?!?!?!?!?!?
The end of this video was so touching. When you recalled the airport incident and Yasmin had tears in her eyes as you expressed your gratitude. How beautiful.
Oh my God, she's SUCH a lovely person! Being American and the age where I was a teenager in the 80's, I was in awe of these supermodels who bagged rockstars. I tried to copy their personal style thinking maybe I could find a rocker of my own (but my jobs as art student and part-time shirt presser were not nearly as glamorous, lol!) But I've often wondered about their personalities. Obviously time and being a parent mellows us all out, but Yas is just a doll.
Yasmin was absolutely perfect! Very down to earth and speaking directly into the camera I felt like she was talking directly to me! I am 53 and this is my ultimate Lisa Eldridge video! Love, love, love
What a stunning woman Yasmin is! I've been following her on the magazines and the web since the 80ies... also because I was a Duran Duran fan. She is one of the model queens on that time and despite the 3 children and the years, she has changed very very VERY little.
Does someone knows what she eats?! If she is perhaps a vegan or perhaps she eats a lot of fish. Something she must be doing that is keeping her looking SOOOOO YOUNG at 51.
It's not genetics. She's saying that to be humble. I study medicine - ageing of your skin is mostly lifestyle and environment. There are many twin studies that prove this.
Yes a 25 ish min vid from Lisa and it has Yasmin le Bon yay!! She hasn't ages she stunning and her husbands woohoo!! Love the wild boys omg you should try and get Nick Rhodes on a vid talking about the products looks he did he like the original l love him and New Romantics are the best I'm like so happy for this vid thanks Lisa!!
Lisa, Thank you Thank you for doing this gorgeous tutorial with the Legendary Yasmin Le Bon. Ahhh i was a Duran Duran fan haha and have always admired Yasmin. I grew up in London and am the same age, so i have have watched her grow. I love the conversations you have with your 'clients'. You are so easy going Lisa. This is my favorite. Please consider one of your subscribers for a chance to come to your studio and have a makeover....or me even ha ha ...i'm actually not too far from you :)
Such a treat to get a glimpse of Yasmin's personality. She's so delightful. Loved the chit chat between you two. She looks so fantastic for her age. also, thank you for featuring a more mature model. her commentary on facial wipes struck a cord with me i've gotten lazy and use those every day and dont always do a proper cleanse. I will from now on! xo
This is the first time I hear you (Lisa) laughs out loud so much ever in a guest episode!!! She truly is one hella funny and wise and charming lady! And I'm so moved by the story at the end, who would have thought the strong/expert/professional/empowering Lisa eldridge herself had a time when she panicked in a newbee moment in her early career! It just reminds me that everyone will overcome fear and embarrassments and challenges and one day we can all become a professional of something like Lisa! Thanks for sharing your story Lisa, I love this video!!!
I wonder who's that model they mentioned when it came to contouring... also, I loved the part where Kevyn Aucoin was mentioned. History and life experience, thanks for this video
Such a warm person. Thank you for bringing her to us and thank you Yasmin for coming. I am too young to have been living through the 90's models era and I didn't know her, but I will sure never forget her. She is beautiful. I love these kind of videos, where you bring guests and talk to them through the makup-applying-process, Lisa. Thank you so much.
Oh, Lisa! Thank you so much for this. I remember when Yasmin and Simon started dating. I was a huge Duranie. I used to take her photos out of Vogue etc. I collected photos of Renee Simonsen as well because I loved John Taylor! LOL. I've always felt Yasmin was so down to earth and lovely, and now I know that to be true. What a fabulous rapport the two of you have.
I can't believe this woman is in her 50's! Time (and gravity) has been very very kind to her. She is still such a natural beauty. Don't need much on that face, for sure!
It must have been a blessing to have clients who are not only famous, or interesting, but also kind-hearted and genuinely good person. I love that you share some of your best clients with us! It puts them in more of a personal context than just someone "out there."
I've always loved her and now I love her even more. She is beautiful and so obviously has chosen not to (surgically) mess with her face. She is a thin lipped woman who has enough sense to realize that NOT everyone is supposed to have ridiculous collagen filled lips. Her lips are perfect for her face. Thank you Yasmin for not being a kardashadroid!
This is one of the best things I've seen in a long time on RU-vid ! You two are absolutely lovely, I felt like I was in the room with you, listening to the conversation whilst drinking a cup of tea... Perfect ! Thank you for this lovely moment x
Am I the only who thinks they could be sisters? Love watching your videos, Lisa. So grateful for the wealth of knowledge you share in each and every video
Wow she reminds me so much of you! And darker hair would look really good on her too :)) She's beautiful and seems so on the inside as well. Can't wait for the next look!
