You knew exactly where Sam and Dean were, they never let you go on hunts with them, you were left to stay in the bunker anxiously waiting. Well now you had enough and you had followed them to the haunted apartment building they had gone to.
You knocked on the door you knew the Winchesters were staying at and waited for them. Dean opened the door, before you could even say anything he asked you what you were doing there.
You told them you were tired of not doing being able to hunt and they should give you chance, Dean shook his head and told you weren’t ready and how this life wasn’t for you. You stand your ground and refuse to leave, Dean turns to look at Sam as though asking for backup but Sam puts his head and continues looking at whatever was on his laptop but you noticed the slight smile on Sam’s face as you ignored his brother’s demand for you to go back to the bunker and you sit on the table opposite Sam.
After the Winchesters reluctantly filled you in on the case, you decide to explore the building and look for any sign of the spirit , Dean says that you and him will take the top two floors but you protest saying it would make more sense to split up but Dean doesn’t listen he hands you an EMF meter and stands at the door waiting for you to follow.
You both walk the first floor in complete silence, you know he’s angry at you but you just wish he wasn’t so stubborn and would let you go on a hunt, as you reach the second floor he tells you that you’re the spirits type and you begin to realise that Dean’s anger and worry wasn’t just because you had never hunted before but also because the spirit could take you. You continue walking when Dean stops and you he starts sniffing, you look confused and then you smell it too, it smelled like a gas leak or something, he shakes his head saying its not that. Suddenly your EMF meter goes off and Dean jokingly congratulates you before standing near the wall that your EMF meter went off at, he notices a small opening and puts his hand in and takes something out, you both look at each other and Dean makes his way in, you following closely after.
It slowly starts to become too narrow and Dean tells you that you can’t go any further but you know you can fit in so you can carry on much to Dean’s protest, Once he can’t hear you he calls your phone and you tell him where you’re going, you’re terrified but it’s your chance to prove that you can do this. The path behind the walls ends and you see Dean waiting for you and he asks if you find anything to which you shake your head he helps you out so you’re back in the corridors and you return back to the apartment.
As you wait for Sam to come back you decide to have a power nap but the sound of Sam and Dean talking wakes you up and worry washes over you as you hear them discussing you as bait. You couldn’t believe a few hours ago Dean didn’t even want you on the hunt and now he wants to use as bait?
You wake up and they look over at you and Dean slowly walks over to you and Sam sits at the table with his head in his hands. Dean tells you they can kill it but they need your help to do it. You look at him with worry but you trust them and you know they’d do anything and everything to keep you safe so you slowly nod your head.
You all quickly begin making preparations for the trap and Dean sits next to you and explains what will happen, he speaks softly and you can tell he doesn’t want to do this but you have no choice, this is the only way to get the spirit to come. Dean leaves the room and all of a sudden you’re alone in the room and you feel your heartbeat get louder and quicker as you see the spirit appear in the room, you keep looking at the door waiting for Sam and Dean to show up. Suddenly the door was kicked open and the Winchester’s started opening fire, you dived under the bed and once the shooting was over you stood up, and that’s when you realise you weren’t quick to get under the bed and you’d been shot, they rushed over to your side and helped to patch you up, luckily it wasn’t life threatening, but it was enough for Sam and Dean to worry. They helped you into the car and you all drove back to the bunker.
Once you arrived at the bunker you went into your room and just sat there, you realised that you weren’t ready to hunt, Sam and Dean were right. You saw Dean out of the corner of your eye, you could tell he’d been crying he apologised for you getting hurt. Guilt came over you, it wasn’t his fault you shouldn’t have ever been there in the first place, you pulled him into a hug and for the first time in a while you felt safe.
