I've always wondered what happens when an angel that's possessing a vessel has their grace stolen. Does this create a human soul for the angel, as they do indeed become human, and if so, what happens to the soul of the actual vessel?

@@Da1337Man With Cas, he became human because there was no one else inside of his body. But this does bring up an interesting thought. We know that when a Demon or Angel possess a human the stronger individual takes over. We've seen this with Bobby taking back control while a demon is inside him and Sam with Lucifer. Of course, the Sam example is with an Archangel and Sam was supercharged with Demon blood, but we keep seeing this later on. My best guess is that when a Grace is stolen, the Angel is still stronger than the human so, they are still in control, but do the Angel's have souls? We know that the Angels are made of light seperate from their Grace. There are perfect examples in spoiler territory seasons, _but_ we have seen this in season 4 with Anna who was born as a human despite being a fallen Angel. Good question.

@@Da1337Man Well, at the end of S8 when Metatron was monologuing to Castiel, after he'd taken his Grace, he told him he was going to send him down to earth, and that Cas should live a long full life, and when he eventually died and his soul came up to Heaven, Metatron wanted to hear his story. (This was before Metatron decided Castiel was his literary arch-nemesis.) So, with him being the Scribe of Heaven and all that, I'm assuming that he knows a bit more than your average angel. So, if we take him at his word, then that would mean that when all his Grace was removed, Castiel gained a soul. At least for that time while he was purely human. But it makes me wonder what happened to it once he took some Grace back to regain his angelic status. (Also makes me wonder about Anna, back from Seasons 4 and 5. She was born as a human, without any angelic Grace. So, she would have had a soul, right? But then she took her Grace back. Did her soul burn away? And why did she seem to have some extra abilities when "just a human" when Castiel didn't? Like, Anna could see Demons' true faces, and she even had some minor telekinesis.) As for the soul of a human if they were still present? I don't know what would happen. I would imagine they would still be in there somewhere, but with the Angel being completely unable to leave the vessel now, my best guess would be that the human would forever be trapped. Unless some battle of wills happened between them. *LOL* So far, we've never seen an angel loose their Grace while inhabiting a vessel that had a living human in it still.
