@Martin TaylorNo I'm not. ;) Eternity is human definition, which is probably used by other species as well, but if there are no people here anymore, there is no eternity anymore, no music, nothing. No definition at all. The world just exist in our heads. Ask Buddha.. ;)
@Martin Taylor Okay the problem is deeper, before you try to think about eternity and its definition, you should start learning read. ;) I did not write that other species are people, I write that other species probably, as well as people (humans), have a definition like eternity. Eternity might be not be a single definition, only by humans. But the world you are live in, is a definition of your brain, surely invented from outside from culture from the language you use, from the environment you grown up and live in. But it's only a definition of your Brain. You can see it on the fact that you only receive information by visual light, sound, taste and feel. you don't see radio waves or radiation. You cannot feel the action of quantum fields. You are living in this world, in this slight layer, so to speak, you don't know what is happening in your body with Hormons, the chemical reactions in your cells and deeper in the world of Atoms. And you don't know what in the big world of stars, black holes and Galaxyis is really happening. You even don't know, why this universe is or how it will ends. By the way, if someone told you, this is because God made it, and you believe it, you're sucked. ;) That means your whole definition, which is, in big parts, a common definition of the culture, environment, family ,community you live in, is only a definition. You as a human don't know anything about the real nature of reality. So when your mind is gone, this complete definition is gone. Face it, it helps to live lucky and relaxed. Believe me, I have seen eternity.. ;)
Being a child of the sixties, my absolutely favorite bands of all times! 2 tours in Nam, 2 purple hearts, listening to them always took me to a different place... Forever grateful for their music...
SOLID STEADY BEATS, WITH PERFECTLY PLACED N TIMED FILLS. EXACTLY WHERE THEYRE SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE SONG. DRUM POETRY IN MOTION. PURE ARTISTRY. I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO WITNESS THIS BRILLIANT MASTERPIECE IN OTTAWA WHEN THIS ALBUM CAME. THE SOUND WAS EVERYWHERE, CRYSTAL CLEAR EVERY INSTRUMENT. AN EPIC, UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE. 👏 BROVO SUPERTRAMP..!!!! 👊🖖
Supertramp had such a rich, heavy sound. The fact that they had two fantastic, completely different lead singers made them a fantastic and versatile band! Rock On!
I love Supertramp. I use to listen to this Album in the 70’s. When I was around 15 or so. These guys were awesome. Still love this album at 63 years old. Female.
Was absolutely privileged to see supertramp twice in London. Born to perform and way before their time. Their music was just mystical and I absolutely love them. Still play there albums 40 years on.💙💖
One of the best ever I’ll never forget them. I listen to them still to this day! They make my heart cry they make a kid happy they make me feel things I’ve never felt they have a gift that they share with everyone and forever.❤
The greatest legacy of my dad was all of this amazing music we got to hear as kids while on road trips and vacations. Now I'm 47 and I get to share it with my own son. 😊
I am 64 years old, I grieve because I never had my father listen to it. He was a big band Era type of guy. I think this would blown his shoes off. The song just builds and builds but so smooth and soft but very intense
DidYouReadEULA well he gets some of it right but his timing is a bit off . What we all enjoy is that punch of the individual drum strikes but the sequence is not always timed correctly
@@markanderson8119 exactly what I was thinking...but it'not always easy to keep the timing right in a live performance. Sometimes it's hard to hear on stage. But for a band like this it shouldn't happen.
Roger moved to the same town as I lived in, he played at a bar one night with a local band, we got to dance with him, talk with him, it was pretty cool, a long time ago and a great memory to last a lifetime.

I completely agree. I grew up in Toronto and I remembered rocking to all those bands. Oh and I have to say this song was the BEST STONER song to listen to with a pair of head phones on.
I saw Supertramp in concert in 1977 . It remains my favourite concert - and I have attended many other bands' and solo artists ' concerts during the years .
The album when released stood head and shoulders above all others, Pure masterpiece of music perfection, How times have changed, Came across a original vinyl LP in pristine condition at a car-boot sale, I bought it for £2 pound, Crime of the Century,
My very first concert in 1975. I was 15 years old and had only heard Bloody Well Right. Instant fan. And as much as I love both Rick and Rodger, I hate the fact that they couldn't get along and it robbed the world of Supertramp.
Great track, watched them at Leeds University at that time where the electric failed but the keyboard player walked on with light bulbs around him and played A your adorable etc on the piano until it was repaired.. Great show. This track is great if you want to show your speakers off.
Ive been listening to Crime of the Century since i was 7 yrs old in the 70s and the headphones were bigger than my head. Lol i will never tire of this album.
Einfach unschlagbare Musik!!!
Robert Layne Siebenberg (real name) was improperly credited as Bob C. Benberg (not real name) "resulting from a bizarre work permit situation in his youth."
Saw This Stellar Band 2 Nites in a row At The Fabulous Forum In LA!!! Simply Stellar!!! Then At The LA Sports Arena all In The 70s!!!i Incredible!!!! Then Went To See Roger Hodgson as a Solo Artist and his Band in 1998 and Saw and met him in The Parking Lot at The Galaxy Concert Theater!!! In Santa Ana Cal , turned around after getting out of My Car and there he was all by himself walking thru the parking Lot, I yelled out Roger and scared him! And said Hi !! It was Me and My Wife!! And I said I saw Supertramp at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium!! Then he walked over to Us!!! He was so Nice and Shook Our Hands and said ThankYou!!!! Will never forget how Nice He was After I sacred Heckout Of Him, And Then He Thanked Us for coming to see him! A Way Cool Guy!!!
Rodger Hodgson is a writer and can play all instruments on his solo album eye of the storm . Shout out for the timings of his drummer on this one . awsome!
@balazsernhaft8337 Why do you have such a distaste for Roger, They are both great song writers and musicians. According to you everything Roger does to you is crap and everything Rick is great. The things you accuse Roger fans of doing, you do for all of Rick's music. Here is from wikipedia about COTC "Asylum", "Rudy" and "Bloody Well Right" were written by Davies, "Dreamer", "If Everyone Was Listening", and "Hide in Your Shell" were written by Hodgson, and both "School" and "Crime of the Century" are Davies/Hodgson collaborations.[10]
@balazsernhaft8337 I think the difference between us is i'm a Supertramp fan and your a Rick fan. You don't comment on songs by Supertramp before 1983, just one after and it's the great Rick Davies not the great Supertramp. I've never commented under any Supertramp videos with negative comments about any member of the band (except Mark Hart that's only because he doesn't sound good on Roger songs, I thinks Rick should have sung them in his voice.) You say Roger hasn't been heard from since 2020, He had concert July 2021 in the Netherlands and a football (soccer) venue, not much after that. I'm glad Rick is doing better in his health, like I said I also liked Rick and Roger before and after 1983. I know his health probably limits him, but his 2022 performances were in a bar in a 40 foot by 40 foot room shot at the bar Stephen Talkhouse , long Island , New York.
The sound on Paris is not as good as this unfortunately, it was never as good as what they sounded like live in person back then. I saw them in 1983 and when I bought Paris hoping to revel in the glorious sound they had live it was a disappointment in comparison. It is still a good album but this sounds much closer to the real power they had live. That show stands as one of the greatest shows I ever saw.
Always my favorite song of Supertramp. The majesty power and glory of which is unsurpassed in the annals of rock history. The power this band had live was more intense than Pink Floyd. You really had to experience this live to understand the power they had.
