My God how Supertramp can lift your spirits when you’re a bit down. Thank goodness I was able to see them back in the 80’s. Just absolutely LOVE the Tramp!!!
This is an absolute work of art. It's funny how music nowadays lacks that finesse, that concise, yet melodic precision. Now it's just kathunk kathunk and kathunk.
This track is outstanding as with so many supertramp songs! Absolute magic we are devoid of today, replaced by crap from a fucked up music industry who dictate thru contracts. Supertramp werevtrer like others in a past timeline.
@@josephgonnelli7990 I would love to hear of a band like Supertramp - or the Beatles, or the Stones, or Genesis, etc. There is some good music around, but just nothing that makes me feel like these bands do. Can you suggest something you think is on a par with the above, please?
Ft. Hood Texas 1978, was the 1st time I heard this song. I immediately went and bought the album. Really ticked off the twin brothers in our room, who were devout Dead Heads. It only took a few days of us blaring this album for the rest of the guys to come around & start jamming to it with us. I remember how we talked about how different the music was. I wouldn't trade my Military experience for anything, nor would I trade all of the music I experienced from rooming & working daily with very good men from all parts of the U.S. as well as some other countries. Please pray for & remember those service people & first responders alive & those who gave all & all of the homeless Veterans on the street & suffering. May God Bless America.
@@MrNickelbrille I was stationed overseas for 1 year in 77. All we got back then was Armed forces Radio, at least I think that's what it was called. All I know is that they didn't have American stations there.
@@benborn2luvmusicnely510 So you mean only BFBS British Forces broadcasting service? Back in 1981 I had a year in England and had my 1st DJ-Job 😁 That was at Radio Atlantis Portsmouth. Lucky me I could play over the air what hardly any DJ could play. Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin Supertramp...... Man did I have a good time. I came back to Germany after f*.* Skinheads tried to kill me. There is hate everywere. After that I became a Heavy metal DJ. No more radio, that is no fun. I could play anything too,but nobody really listened as long as they had drinks 🙄
You are correct. Most young people will not listen to an entire album .it used to be hit and miss years ago listening to your favourite band or a referral but that was before internet and smart phones. . we definitely have a shorter span of attention now .
Epic song - Says Hodgson: "History recalls how great the fall can be, while everybody's sleeping, the boats put out to sea. I say: C'mon peoples of the world, wake up don't let these bastards, cabal, rule the world. Now is the time to stand on our sacred ground.
First listend to super tramp at 19years of age I the army I Germany. God they were amazing then ad they are now I'm now 63 years old but still the best band ever for me.
Somebody took all the musical influences and lifes up and downs to create such a work of art for us to submerge ourselves in. Amazing what some people can create,.
Even in the Quietest Moments. Tempos maravillosos y grandes recuerdo
Como suena el piano. Se me ponen los pelos de punta. Que grandeza de cancion. Que voz tan limpia. Que obra maestra. Llevo oyendo a SUPERTRAMP 40 años y cada dia me gusta mas. Señores, sientan como yo esta cancion
Exactly, people don't realize what's happening in the world today is the same road followed that gave rise to Hitler....and it's on purpose, it's being orchestrated by the WEF & China imo. Scary days ahead especially for the youth...terrifying.
British, American Imperialsm just like so many before these two have always fallen by the wayside eventually.!!! Hopefully these two will fall by the wayside before i move on.!!!
The orchestral and concert band instruments add so many neat parts to this piece, just a gift from the band. I worked with a guy who mentioned one time that he was a fan of Supertramp so naturally I started bringing up some of their gems and he was not familiar with this gem, School, Hide In Your Shell etc... I learned that he was really only familiar with B in America and sighted Child Of Vision as his favorite. Good track but obviously not a hardcore fan of their catalog. The worst part of it was that I would periodically ask him if he had listened to these select tracks and he never did. What can you do? Lead a horse to water blah blah blah...
Fantastic song, text and melody. The young ones today, should really take in what this is about. Luckily Rodger knew how to put words to how we saved the human way of living together. Unfortunately many good men lost their lives to save us.
I have to thank Joe Elliot for re introducing me to this song on Planet Rock. Most days I can be seen in my car driving singing along with it much to the amusement of other road users. Still if you cant sing in your car to your favourite songs when can you-its not a crime. Well not yet anyway.
