A part of me wants to keep listening to his songs, but it’s hard when so many of the lyrics are reflections of his disgusting behavior and self awareness to it.

The one RU-vidr I thought I could completely trust, I always went back to his channel for the old social experiment videos when I was feeling sad or nostalgic. I knew Wilbur before any of the other Minecraft RU-vidrs. I’m sorry to rant I’m just really upset about this, so glad I was too broke to spend money on his merch

Guys, so many of you say that his music saved you, helped you…. ( I am one of them ). I really hope that after some time, we all will be together as a community, we will have fun times etc. I hope that everything eventually goes to normal ( even though we won’t totally forget this situation)

i remember when YCGMA and MSR with rain came out, I'd just got off school and had an argument with my dad when i got back, i came up into my room and put youtube on, i put the vid on and fell asleep to it, woke up at the very end, ever since that day, if i wanted Wilbur and rain that has been my go to video, i love these, so sad they're stopping but all good things must come to an end eventually ❤❤

I never watched his streams, I only ever listened to his music, but it still hurts. His music was what got me through quarantine, helped me through an ED (I also started listening to Lovejoy at that time), and helped me cope with a bad break up. I used to cry to his songs and sleep to them, but now I can't bring myself to after this. Hope everyone here is healthy and well, much love to all

Im not crying, someone's just cutting onions next to me. :) But seriously, all of my playlists were filled with lovejoy and wilbur, more specifically songs like these. Loosing wilbur (aka choosing to cut him off because he's scum) is me entering a new era I don't want to go to. But alas, at the end of the day, i will ALWAYS support victims.

Wilbur and his community was my safe place for YEARS. I always turned to vids with him to feel better. The news has me feeling betrayed. I loved being in the community and being a part of his streams, band and everything else… but with everything that’s happened I can’t in good conscience be a part of any of it any longer… I don’t only feel betrayed, but just an immense feeling of disappointment and emptiness too… I know this news has destroyed a lot of us- please take care of yourselves ❤ remember that there is help if you need it, and that people care about you.

Im literally crying i had such a strong connection to his music and so many alters based off his personas (they all fused with me in august of 2023) and i cant help but feel like im capable of doing the things hes done bc of it. Im just struggling with processing all of this. Im going to go through EMDR with a psychiatrist soon to work out the trauma i had from a bad relationship i associate with his music.. Shelby is an amazing and kind person #Shelbysupport ❤

i hope everyone in the comments knows they’re justified in feeling hurt. you probably spent years of your life attached to the person you believed him to be, and it’s not easy to realise it was all a lie, and letting it go can take a while. but you don’t have to let go of the memories you made with the fandom over the years. don’t let him take that joy and comfort away from you. you don’t need to punish yourself for his actions. i hope soon you can look back at this time and not be hurt by it. and remember it might feel like he helped you through a tough time, but ultimately it was you who helped yourself by choosing to seek out content that made you happy, and sticking around if even “just” for that. you did that. and you will find something else to do the same with after this. there’s love waiting all around you. support shelby always. i admire her so much for her strength and for doing so much to protect others. wishing her nothing but love and healing ❤️‍🩹

I honestly know I ain't that special, but I have to say that this man had saved me at my lowest, but now that I'm much better, finding out that the man who I thought was like no other turned out to be just like every other white man had left me disappointed. I never trusted anyone, knowing that they'll disappoint me later on, but I ignored Wil's red flags. Hopefully he'll fix himself and NOT join the 27s club as others say. I am afraid of that becoming true. Anyways, my support fully goes to Shubble. She never deserved such thing.

Honestly, I can't tell whether I feel more disgusted and betrayed, or hopeless and empty. I feel like hearing his music before and after has made me realize that half his songs were most likely talking about the awful things he had done. It makes it even worse knowing that he only admitted to doing so after being exposed. I want to say that I couldn't see this coming, but almost every youtuber/streamer/general content creator or famous person seems to be absolutely horrid nowadays. I wish I never found out about this, but at the same time I know that if I hadn't, and no one else did, Shelby would never had gotten the support and attention she needed. And that she still needs. I love Wilbur Soots music, but I ALWAYS support victims. SHELBY SUPPORT!!!!!!!

i stayed out of Lovejoy and wilbur until August last year, so it didnt hurt as bad as some other people but i got attached so easy. ycgma means so much to me because i listened to those at my lowest in 2021ish and his music has just been an escape. ive been watching shelby for way longer so it was easy to take her side, no questions asked. im still sad about it a month later, and i doubt I'll ever be fully over it. i just wanted to write this for closure. thank you for this video

His music makes me feel so much, I don't even know how to explain it. I'm so upset about this whole thing, because I could never listen to his music without feeling guilty again.

I see so many people be like “Oh I knew the whole time he was bad or oh someone with that massive of a following mainly from younger people could never have been a good person” I think they miss the point and the situation entirely. Wilbur’s rise to mainstream fame came at a time of massive social isolation and political change there were so many people and so many young teens who had no idea what was going on or who they were anymore I bet my last dime that everyone at least knows one person or were that person who changed whether that be in terms of sexuality or personality. And here comes Wilbur in all of this who’s a nice looking guy who appeals to the insecurities you face as a teen with a comforting accent and personality to boot. He was going to blow up it only was a matter of time and people genuinely felt moved by his songs and I did to, I loved Perfume and I still do I felt like it appeals to me as someone who’s AroAce and feels forced to find someone in the society we live in. And I think it’s really a dumb thing to make all the “I knew all along” statements because there are people who trusted him and thought he had their best interests at heart and hearing all those comments could make them feel bad like they were an idiot to trust him. And I’ll just say that if you liked Wilbur Soot you’re not dumb or wrong or an idiot there are so many people on this platform that people trust and turn out to be terrible people and he never gave off the impression that he was awful even Shubble said that it was only till after leaving that relationship did it click in her mind that it was abuse So you are more than allowed to feel all sort of emotions right now because this was a man so many of trusted as teens and believe me one day it will be different. - °•| Eliza |•°

i’m just disappointed. i really liked wilbur’s music, and lovejoy. all the songs have a new meaning to them, knowing what he’s done. everything makes so much more sense, now. i was planning to sing iaf iap at an open mic but i’m not going to just support and promote an abuser’s music, so i’ll have to find another. if anyone wants any other music recommendations: • the smiths • the cure • james marriott • weezer • bibio (he’s criminally underrated) if anyone has any more id be happy to give them a listen :)

It's crazy how his music saved me from the toughest times of my depression, especially when I wanted to end it all. My only question is, who do I have to trust now? I'm tired of feeling betrayed, and he just had to add to that list of betrayal. I'm tired of feeling like I can't trust no one. I can't even trust music to save myself from serious actions from depression as such. Why did I ever let myself get so attached, to a fricking abuser? Support Shelby please. Stay away from all of the drama. As much as you want to go back into it, even if it's for a second, don't. If he makes you depressed or angry, it's not worth feeling all of the stress again. If he still makes you happy, I have nothing against that. I hate him but I haven't gotten to the point of entirely stopping listening to his music yet. Support victims always. Do not spread hate!

Omg thank you so much for this. I wanted to listen to him and Lovejoy one final time to say goodbye, but I couldn’t stand hearing his voice so close to me after everything he’s done, so this was really helpful just to hear it fading away from me, my life, and who I am. Wilbur Soot meant so much to me-his music, his content, everything all felt so personal. I hate that he ended up being a horrible person all along. It feels like betrayal, even though I never really knew him. Support victims always.

Wilbur may have messed up, but I can't just forget those nights where I'd be up at 2 a.m. sobbing my guts out to Jubilee Line because those lyrics felt like the closest thing I'd get to someone finally understanding what I was going through.

I wanted to listen to him one more time again and I’m crying so hard rn. I can’t deal with this! He saved me and his music. I can’t get over this :( 😭 I wish this NEVER happened. I wanted to learn the guitar and now I feel like I shouldn’t. I have an electric guitar that I want to learn and wanted to play love joy but now i can’t. I wish everything was normal

Wilbur felt like a safe place for me to go to when I was upset, I even started to learn how to play the guitar, but it feels so so wrong to start to play it once again, knowing how he is as a person. I used to believe that he was actually trying to get better but everything coming out shows that he hasn’t. I can’t see myself supporting him anymore, support Shelby.

This is frustrating, I always loved his music, his videos, I cosplayed him, did everything...and now it's gone, I'm an victim of harassment and it just hurts... literally I started doing music, playing ukulele, singing and streaming because of him...this sucks because I feel like a terrible person.

As with all victims of abuse, support Shelby 🩵🩵 If you continue to support Wilbur (I doubt that anyone here does, but still), at least acknowledge the validity of Shelby's experience and feelings. She obviously went through things, regardless of whether you believe her, and sharing these things publicly against someone with so much support and popularity is obviously going to come with consequences for one or both parties. When I discovered YCGMA in 2020, I wasn't a good person. In fact, I was quite an awful person. I had been for years, and just because I was a child doesn't mean I can excuse my past. Wilbur's music didn't push me straight towards change, but it put me on the path I needed to be on. His music gave me some kind of sad self awareness as to how I treated people. YCGMA opened my eyes to how I was hurting people, and I learned how to change, how to love people healthily, partially because of that. I watched his content before hearing his music, and I felt supported somehow. I felt myself grow past what I used to be like, I felt myself change over the 3 years after YCGMA. As of August 2022, I am in a wonderful and healthy relationship with someone I really care for and can show my love to in a healthy way. As of May 2023, I met my best friend in the whole world, and I may make mistakes sometimes, but these two wonderful people stick with me. My previous friend circle (where I met my boyfriend) was not great, but I've made a new friend group thanks to my best friend and I'm so proud of how far I, personally, have come in these last few years (especially last year, when I truly improved the most I ever have). When MSR released, I had felt the worst I had in a while, but the happiness to see a new release from him made me claim it as a comfort album. I feel immense comfort from the songs, even after learning all these awful things. It felt like it was showing me how far I'd come since 2020. Whenever I felt that way again, I'd revisit the album, and I'd feel understood. I came up with my own interpretations for every song, and I still hold those interpretations close to my heart. I just hope Wilbur can do something similar to what I managed to do, and truly change for the better. I will always love his music for the things it did to push me forward. He saved me from myself, from the abuse I'd been subjected to and, as a result, subjected others to that same abuse. As Dream said, "She had every reason to be afraid to say your name, but you shouldn't have been afraid to say hers."
