Damnit. I was there from the beginning. Cause For Concern was my favorite ever song of theirs. It was what inspired me to go on my music exploration journey. I shouldn’t be going through the stages of grief about it because I’m not even involved, but a lot of my usernames are references to it and I have to change them to finally put it to rest. DSMP “antis” who don’t quite understand what the server was really piss me off because they like to generalize watchers and streamers who took part in it just to hate, but now I can’t even say anything. These people keep on getting wrapped up in these awful situations and now there’s a guilt factor for having supported them before, knowing that most didn’t, like I was just ignorant or something? Tbh, I'm gonna cry, their music helped me thru so much. From Normal People Things calming me down from an anxiety attack To Perfume, Model Buses, One Day, and P.O.A.B.S keeping me up at night. Even though I've only been listening to them for a year, they helped me way more than words can describe. My friends and I were devastated when we learned it was him. I went to their concert, I bought merch, their hoodie was literally smt I would wear for days maybe like weeks on end because they were so much comfort to me. When I heard abt it when it was just allegations, I was denying it. "why would Wilbur ever do that?" I asked myself, I think many people would have. I was supporting shelby, but I just couldn't believe that Wilbur would do something like that. When it was confirmed, I was devistated. A guy that I thought could do no harm, was one of my favourite streamers, someone I would watch and listen to for hours on end was an abuser. I'm disgusted in him. #supportshelby!! Since we’re all kinda venting down here, I’m just gonna say this. I was a huge Wilbur fan since 2020. I memorized the lyrics to every single one of his songs. I attended a majority of his streams, and he helped me feel semi-comforted when times were tough. I started to distance myself from the DSMP, but always kept watching/listening to Wilbur and Tommy. At first, I didn’t believe it, because there are millions of British men besides Wilbur that Shelby could’ve dated. But then when he responded…I didn’t cry. I just sat there, thinking how much of an idiot I was for supporting him, not knowing what to do. I mean, that man is my childhood hero. Was, I guess. Yes, he did something wrong, and his apology was crap. But the things the community is now commenting is just not right. Nobody, despite their mistakes, should be reminded about how their dead freind would react. No one should be telling him to kill himself. Just leave him alone, please. You don’t have to support him, but just don’t comment that stuff. Please… Sorry for the long rant. Go support Shelby, and just leave Wilbur to wallow.

wilbur was one of my comfort creators i cried so much when shelby (love them, support her!!) shared her story because all of the signs added up to wilbur. i was a fan of wilbur for almost two years. he was the only one i stayed a fan of when i lost interest in his previous friends. now i find it funny to shittalk about him in gcs, and its been a way of getting through it lmao good fucking riddance william gold. hope you work at a tesco for the rest of your life ❤

Lovejoy always had relatable music. But thinking about it, the lyrics were always… deep. Deeper than I thought. When I found out, my initial thought was “What’ll happen?” Because I was scared that Tommy, Tubbo, Quackity, Niki… and even Phil would drop him, and I was right. Sometimes I fricken wish people believed him when he said he changed, because maybe I’d be able to listen to his music without having some sort of existential crisis, worrying that I’d be judged for liking his music because of what he did. His music is always gonna be near and dear to my heart, but Wilbur himself will have to stay out of the picture for now. Who knows? Everyone has a… what’s the word… a moment where they redeem themselves for good. I can only hope that happens. That doesn’t mean I support what he did. I’m sure we’re all in this sticky situation or something similar. Just like his lyrics. We’ve been “infatuated with the truth”. I support Shelby, she deserves it, but… I’m bad with change. I’ll just have to pretend nothing happened until I’m ready to accept this happened, but I should keep my mouth shut. This is in no way defending Wilbur’s actions. This is just me expressing my pain. This man is very much human, like us. What he’s done is proof. But this issue is that we can’t escape the truth, that we’re all capable of it. Some people are just dumb enough to do it. This so wierd cause I’ve watched Wilbur before love joy, then they release their first album/video on my birthday…that was 2 years ago, I was in severe depression at that time…2 years felt forever ago. Gunna be honest I haven’t really listen to them since but that one song ‘call me what you like’ as it was on the radio. I stop watching the Mcyt mid 2022. It’s just strange how someone seemed friendly could actually be an abuser. Support Shelby! (Even if I don’t know her well) I support the victims I never support abusers.

I was one of the big fans of Wilbur and have been watching him for about 3-4 years. I talked about him a lot to my cousin, I even bought one of his sweaters and wore it often. it’s such a shame that I don’t think I can wear it anymore. I miss the simpler times. I saw Lovejoy live exactly one year ago today on my birthday and I remember feeling so excited to be able to see them, I knew every lyric to every song, whether it be covers or their original songs and I screamed them so loud but now I've removed them from every single playlist I have, and it hurts to hear their music. And the whole reason I started my band and started playing music at all was because of Lovejoy and Wilbur, and when everything happened, I not only lost my favorite band, but I also lost my passion for music as a whole. And I feel overwhelmingly guilty knowing that I once supported and looked up to an abuser, I hope Wilbur Soot rots for what he did, and I hope Shelby and everyone else he hurt heals from what he's done.

To the man and the music that saved me when I was at my lowest, Fuck you Wilbur. You were a wonderful experience and fun while it lasted but time to leave. Wilbur soot was someone i listend to while i had c-ptsd attacks. While i was living my worst trauma i listendd to his music or vods or streams, they helped ground me. Im so heart broke that someone who grounded me while i relived my trauma was out causing others trauma. Im so emotionally fucked. I have had so so so many mental health crisises to his music. I truely hope he gets the help he deserves i hope you helps his victims heal. But more importantly i hope shubble gets help gets the justice she wants and gets the support she needs because at the end of the day shes the real victim. I hope any other victims he has hurt get the proper care and dont feel pressured to come forward but do so if they want to. I hope everyone in this situation heals. Its a fucked situation and i hope wilbur reflects personally and aims to compensate his victim's to there best ability.

So, I've been listening to this for a good while now- saw the video, clicked, didn't skip any of the songs, just walking in a circle while sighing from time to time, and now I'm reading the comments, and they're just relatable as hell. And now, I'm sighing again, as I can hear the words "I don't miss you.... I miss the thought of what we were" After finishing all of these albums and other songs included in this video, I'll go find some other music. Lovejoy was one of the best things I've known for a while now. People barely know the band, so I thought "mahbe I finally found something that people don't find cringe!" Ong, now if I walked up to someone and said I like this band the reaction would be worse than just cringe. I would straight up get called out for supporting an abuser. And that's a thing I would do too if someone walked up to me like that- Wilbur disgusts me now, some of his lyrics don't sound "poetic" anymore, instead they sound like straight-up abuse and neglect confessions, and it sounds extremely concerning. Ever since I started to listen to Lovejoy, I wanted so much to go on of their concerts, go to one of those festivals, now I’m thinking, I may never be able to. I’m still having a hard time processing this, it hurts so much, and I still love the band so much, it’s just hard to, process everything.

How much the news broke me when it came out was like i lost a friend. This music has helped me through SO MANY life situations its incredible. Sadly cause of the news i couldnt hear his voice anymore, like i was disgusted by the voice. I saw the playlist earlier but i didn't have the right feeling to actually go and listen to it cause i havent figured how and what to do and what to find and how to cope with it. Have i fully moved on? No. I will eventually move on but how long i have not a single idea. I was here before the band started, watching the streams and getting excited over the next day. Now i cant stand to see his face anymore. I know a lot of us had been trying to deal with it and believe me, after 10 minutes of listening, i couldnt stop crying. Hopefully it will all get better for all of us soon, including victims that have experienced something just as horrible or the exact same. i was completely flabbergasted when i found out about Wilbur's misdeeds. i was there since day one, when lovejoy officially went public and released the first album. until now, one day was still one of my favourites from their band. i wish this was all a dream and it was fake, but in the end, it's all real. i wish shelby and the others affected by this the best, and hope they'll all recover in the end

about a week after Shelby spoke out, we performed portrait of a blank slate for my school's battle of the bands and won. I feel so confused now. Grateful that we won, we put a lot of work and effort and tested friendships for this, started learning the song about 6 months ago. But, what wilbur did is horrific. hes a terrible person. man this hurts. wilbur was such a big inspiration for me, ever since i started watching him on smplive, and then on smpearth later. i started basing my editing style and video ideas off of wilbur, and i felt like i saw a lot of myself in him. honestly how hard is it to just not be a shit person? like what is up with these content creators man. its really demotivating for someone like me who wants to be a content creator cause at this point it feels like its a fucking requirement to be a horrible person to become successful. I really hope that eventually wilbur ACTUALLY betters himself and becomes a decent person (unlike what he claimed in his bs apology). In the meantime i have 0 sympathy for him. Support Shelby.

How sad and disappointing. I loved Lovejoy so much, it was one of my favorite bands. I really loved 'The Fall.' It had a lot of relatable and enjoyable songs that I absolutely loved. Too bad someone couldn't be a decent person.

I think the reason that I felt so connected to Wilbur was because of his music. I looked up to him so much, and I was even inspired to learn guitar. When I found out the only thing I could think was that “I’ll never be able to listen to the songs again.” Which… hurt. I had associated his songs with my ocs who are UNDENIABLY one of the most important things of my life, and though it’s so easily to just drop Wilbur, it’s so much harder to drop his songs because it feels like I’m losing apart of my own personal history. I can live with that though, I’ll never support that villain ever again. Shelby deserved so much better, it makes me so sick that he thought he could get away with it. I’m just glad that she could figure out what it was and make sure everyone knows the exact kind of person Wilbur is. The same person in his songs. He is the villain. Support Shelby, give her a follow, and most of all support victims ❤❤

ill listen to this one day, but not today. i was in denial about it all first and it never really hit me until phil unfollowed him. it then became real because phil never stands with people who are definitely in the wrong. im just so disappointed. ive been watching will since before lovejoy was mentioned, since the beginning of the dsmp. i watched him and his fellow creators grow and actually grew up with some of them due to the age similarities. its just so...disorienting, i think is the word. its like my world was tipped over on its axis and pushed too close to the sun. im upset with him, disappointed in him, and ashamed that i never saw what was right in front of me. im not supporting will or his band any longer. im not going to listen to him try and make someone else's pain about him in the form of song. i hope that he actually learns that what he did was wrong and why he deserves to lose people over it. hes human, like us all, so he doesnt deserve death threats and other nasty hate comments, but he deserves the punishment of losing his closest people's trust and respect. i hope he changes, and for the better. all that being said, support she!by and his other victims. theyve been through so much and are just that much stronger for it. they need your love now more than ever. i hope they make recoveries and heal completely from it all

ive been listening to lovejoy since AYA was released, I never really was a fan of Wilburs content but his music was just relatable and becuase of that it became my new favorite. I soon fell inlove with Perfume and its sound, but now I listening back to it one last time for some nostalgic reason and theres this lyric that doesnt sit with me right anymore and the same goes with the song now. "You say your ex-boyfriends a policeman, I say you need better standards"

i gave “the fall” one final listen before i unfollowed them on spotify cuz it was the first song i discovered from them and it had such a big place in my heart. i might sometimes find myself listening to lovejoy or wilbur soot but i just stopped cuz of the bs wilbur did… #SUPPORTFORSHELBY

This sucks dude. Wilbur used to be the one person that could make my day better after it seemed like hell. He made me smile, he comforted me. I trusted him, I watched every single stream and video no matter the time. It kinda makes me wanna ball my eyes out knowing that I trusted such a twat. He was the one helping me cope with everything. And I feel so bad for all of his friends too, if this is how I feel then I can't imagine how bad his mates must feel, or atleast what used to be mates. To think he was doing this WHILST I was supporting him makes me feel so guilty. I feel so fucking bad for shelby and the rest of the women that he gave pain to. What is wrong with this world dude. I’m honestly glad that I never started listening to love joy because of what happened but it makes me sad I’ll never listen to their songs in the future and not think about will’s behavior. I wish the best for Shelby and everyone who has been, will be, and is being abused.
