No kidding. I just beat this recently. Never played the Wii version, but I’d imagine True Magolor Soul didn’t have the Sand and Mecha attacks since they were new in this remake. I had Mecha the first attempt and shredded the first phase, even with the free healing item, died in under a minute of Phase 2 starting. I was not very conservative of my reserved items that run.
@@LinkMountaineerI Survived My Encounter With True Magolor Spul Although There were Some Moments Where he was about to get me Through out the fight but good thing I remember I still had maximum tomatoes on me
The thought of a forever tormented Magolor still trapped in the Crown's possession wandering aimlessly in a deserted, unknown dimension is heartbreaking
Imagine, you’re some guy in space who magically can’t be hurt or sensed, you look at the distance and see a horrifying creature destroying worlds who yells in a language you can’t understand, all you can vaguely understand is a distress “Cahbby”, is he evil, is he doing to willingly, it sure doesn’t sound like it! Probably unanswered questions for some other timeline residents.
I guess they are planned to have this boss make a return in an extra mode from a future game, maybe even taking on Galacta Knight's role as a being of incredible power that is summoned from another dimension. If that happens, it would be interesting (although a bit sad aswell) for this boss in the future to be labeled as "Master Crown" instead of "Magolor Soul" as a way of showing that Magalor doesn't exist anymore and this is just his empty husk being puppeted by the crown.
@@azzkin9401 would be cool, but can’t really think of a reason for it to exist, both lore and gameplay wise (especially the latter after Morpho Knight being added to fresh things up 1st)
I had seen someone put the Mecha cannons on Magolor’s soul and initially thought “hah, that’s a dumb way to clickbait” and then got to this part realized that *it was not clickbait*. That on top of my terror after thinking “hey this death animation’s taking a while… he’s not dead is he”
You can hear a vocal chorus that was added, right when Magolor's calls for help start as well... To me, it gives the impression that as Magolor is trying to call for help, the Master Crown is trying to drown out his voice...and in the boss theme, this is happening literally. I haven't seen anyone really comment on the added chorus, so I'd like to hear what other people think about it! It adds a lot to this track we already heard in Star Allies!
From an audio engineering perspective, it fills a part of the song and the mix that felt empty in the SA ver. I felt that a lot of the modern tracks have gaps in their mixes, mostly likely due to hardware limitations (3ds) and needing to actually hear the gameplay
A lot of people point to Magolor Soul's pause text as a sign that Magolor hasn't really changed: "If you can break this thing on my head, well... Someday, I may get to toy with you again!" I take a different perspective, however. The Crown amplifies the darkness within. Magolor was thoroughly trapped in its thrall. And yet... he expressed that sentiment. To spend more time with Kirby in the future. He expressed it as if it were a desire to harm Kirby, to torment him - but doesn't it say a lot that his thoughts were even that tame, instead of fully malicious wishes to see Kirby destroyed? Through the filter of the crown, Magolor expresses a desire to toy with Kirby, but I think that behind that darkness, his sentiment may be much kinder than we believe. We just can't quite see the full shine of the light in the darkness.
In japanese, the word they use is Tease instead of Toy, so yeah, it really seems Magolor genuinely wanted to hang out with Kirby and genuinely be his friend after the whole thing is done. Magolor Epilogue is where he atones for his sins by fully destroying the crown
In the italian translation instead of "toy with you" it straight up says "to be friends/play with you", so maybe it's different translation teams going about different interpretations of the original JP.
Also, it's not like Magalor was a full goody two-shoes afterwords - capitalist apples jokes aside, the way Star Allies characterises him suggests he's settled into the role of a mischievous but harmless con artist and that the experience with the Master Crown just taught him how far was _too_ far. It's perfectly within what's been established for him post-RTDL for him to word it that way while still meaning relatively well.
@@daemonmoreno9456 It's alright. At least that terrifying what-if scenario isn't canon. So that's all that really matters to me. Nonetheless, I forgive you.
Honestly, this is my favorite rendition of CROWNED. They really took all the best songs from this game and smashed them into a really amazing arrangement in Star Allies, and in this game they turned that really cool arrangement into probably one of the most emotional tracks in the entire Kirby franchise, and all it took was adding a choir and voice clips. Damn, HAL. Only you could pull that off.
If the Arenas are truly "what if" scenarios then that means that in this alternate timeline Magolor never got freed from the Master Crown's control, and instead got sent to an unknown dimension. That’s really sad and terrifying at the same time, as he’s still out there being used as a puppet for the Master Crown
let’s just hope that this dimension is d’ovoïdal of anything and has only one purpose, sealing the master crown forever, magolor would be a little happier than if it wasn’t and for one reason, he and the master crown can’t cause harm anymore
@@rebbecawitt581 Extra mode isn’t canon because HAL themselves said so. Typically, Extra modes (Such as Dededetour! And Meta Knightmare Returns) are not canon unless stated otherwise by HAL. But there are some exceptions to this rule, like Magolor Epilogue and Heroes in Another Dimension, which are direct continuations of the main story. Therefore those are canon. Extra Mode isn’t a direct continuation of the story, but rather a retelling or something of the sort. And besides, do you really think Kirby would let the Master Crown fall into Magolor’s hands again?
Something I don't see people talk about is that this version of Magolor Soul doesn't disintegrate like the others when defeated. The crown doesn't shatter, either. They just get whisked away to some other dimension. If we're going off the Epilogue confirming the existence of multiple universes, that means that this version of Magolor is STILL OUT THERE. And likely, whatever remained of that Magolor's mind was probably erased entirely by the time of the fight. I'm putting on a Tin Foil hat and saying Magolor Soul might become a secret boss in the next mainline game, or the next Clash game if they make another.
I'd like to think of it as if the master crown, having completely erased magolor at this point (the only remaining part of him being his shame you hear in the music and the boss description), was then banished from the galaxy like the magic ancients in order to isolate it
@A Meta Knight with internet access Hopefully we could get some of the mirror's lore put into the game, since we can't use Miiverse to read it anymore. Maybe a battle with the mirror and it reflects apparitions of past Sectonia or Dark Mind or something.
@@gordonramsayfan327 That’s actually a neat idea, I’d imagine a fight against the dimensional mirror would work in a potential Taranza side mode similar to Mago's Epilogue. Or they can simply have it be in Dededetour after you fight DMK. Although I hope it doesn’t turn into a Holo Defence API situation where it’ll be just rehashing bosses for the sake of rehashing them
A Triple Deluxe remake wouldn’t need to give Sectonia another new phase to add a new remix. Soul of Sectonia’s music, aside from the intro, is The World to Win again, so they could remix it into an alternate variation.
I remember being in the True Arena, and noticing that Magolor Soul hadn't transitioned into phase two at one-third health. Then he pulled out a Super Sand and Mecha attack. This was probably the strongest fight or flight response I've ever had, and I'm glad I made it out alive.
I saw some people theorize that the Magolor Soul fight in the True Arena is a what if scenario where Kirby fails to destroy the crown since we don't see it get shattered and Magolor gets sucked by a portal, still in Soul form. It's an interesting interpretation. Edit: Apparently, during the development of the OG Return to Dream Land, there was gonna be a bad ending if you don't collect all of the Energy Spheres. With this in mind, some theorize that the ending of this fight might be a reference to that.
@@cjrecio5702 That might actually be the case for most of the True Arena fights we get so far (minus Soul Melter EX & The Ultimate Cup Z, as those two technical tries to differentiate from the traditional TA naming formula and the ending of both modes holds a different tone, still debatable tho.) Regardless, it would seem that the soul boss fight we saw in True Arena may represent the absolute worst case scenario of every adventure, Marx Soul, Magolor Soul, Soul of Sectonia, and Star Dream Soul OS They each show us the scenario where they're far too gone for Kirby to even save them, as the only result left is to put a permanent end to them. Marx dies by split in half and explode Sectonia exploded into flower petals Haltmann got his very own existence erased completely from reality And then in this revamped Deluxe Magolor Soul's case, absorbed by a portal to who knows where. As OG TA Magolor Soul only dissipate aftet defeat .)
Its so sad hearing magolor call for help after being introduced to this song in star allies as the "heroic" version of CROWNED. Following what other people have said about the "bad ending" theory, it would be cool to have this boss reapear in a kirby clash game, or on the epilogue/prologue of the next remake
Okay I wholeheartedly swear that when you can hear Magolor’s voice here, he’s calling out Kirby’s name. I swear I can hear the letter ‘K’ in there somewhere. Also, man it sounds horrifying and sad that a lot of his voice clips here just sound like screams of pain or something. My god, they really elevated my favorite final boss fight of all time so perfectly…😭 Edit: Okay apparently I’m right, he is saying Kirby’s name, that’s so awesome and sad. The more I listen to it, the more I clearly hear the urgency and desperation in his voice… 😞
It’s not the last time they would do this, remember back in Planet Robobot when Kirby got sucked into Star Dream and had to defeat Star Dream from within. Each time you destroy a pillar, you can hear Haltmann screaming in agony… (Once I heard that, I felt sorta bad for the guy)
I like to think his transition between phases isn't just him becoming fully consumed by the Crown, it's just him finally exploding in rage over being cheesed by thousands of TAS runners.
If what we hypothesize about the Ancients is true, the Master Crown is pretty much the result of their mixing Elfilis' and Void's power. And that's a pretty scary thought.
That is absolutely horrifying, especially knowing what Elfilis/Forgo are capable of, even in soul forms or their incomplete form. So truly, the Forgotten Land is now the only safe haven from catastrophic power such as this...someone please remind Elfilin to close the portals just in case 👀 Still is nice knowing that if worst comes to absolute worst in Dreamland, Kirby, Dedede, Meta Knight, Bandana Waddle Dee, the rest of the Waddle Dees and other inhabitants of Dreamland are able to have that kind of safe haven
The Master Crown is trying to escape its fate, however it has already been sealed. Show the crown why it shouldn't step up to the Pink Demon, and send this Malicious Relic to its doom.
@@broomietunes5655 Just doing this for fun, not necessarily trying to out beat others in these fake boss descriptions. There are a lot that are better, but if you still liked mine then thanks.
The sheer emotion contained within this track… the heroic feeling turning desperate, Magolor’s pleas, the ominous and honestly gorgeous vocals… all of it. This track is a whole experience.
fun fact: if you want to count the first loop and then the second loop where you start to hear magolor in the background as one complete song, this ost lasts around 6 and a half minutes making this version of the song one of the longer final boss themes in the series, with the few that beat it being “two planets approach the the roche limit” and the full void termina suite, but this version is also longer than the final movement of the void suite by a few seconds. anyway can’t wait for the next kirby game to have an even longer final boss theme
Interesting how they completely changed the mixing for the second phase. I thought it was just bad mixing at first, but I actually think it's intentional to make it sound more ethereal.
The original version of this song was already one of the best songs in the franchise. This has just elevated it to levels of good we shouldn't even be seeing. The new choir and the distorted voice just adds so much to it.
This doesn't have to be an Alternative Scenario, but an Alternate UNIVERSE. As you all know, the Lor Starcutter can travel through Dimensions and Time + the reveal that Kirby Clash is canon. Magolor somehow had to get back to Kirby and build the theme park (I'm saying this, because the start of the Magolor Epilogue shows Magolor Soul from the Extra Mode) Maybe this doesn't mean that the Magolor Epilogue Ending is not Canon, maybe it means that the Extra Mode was officially made Canon. It could also be that the same thing happened to normal mode Magolor and we were just shown the Extra Mode variant
The scariest boss in the series if we see the story perspective. Considering this is a "What if..." scenario, it is basically what would've happened if Kirby didn't manage to defeat Magolor in time. So what we face is essentially Magolor corrupted to the point of no return.
Genuinely hearing this songs just hits how powerful and dangerous this fight not against Magolor's Soul. Instead the Master Crown itself. Honestly it makes you think on how powerful it is, the player as Kirby facing beings that were the embodiments of evil itself, those who could creat rifts and clash worlds. A simple Ai with knowledge and power that surpass even those who thought they were In control. Including as well Magolor using its power before this phase. And a queen who lost her way. It's incredible how powerful this crown is and just what it did, from a simple beautiful apple, to a person with the wicked and want for power. It's up to you to stop it, the journey it took to get here wasn't easy but man the might is worth it. Beating it, isn't just ending the crown life, but saving the spirit of that one who broke your trust. Also interesting how in Star Allies, this crown shows itself in a way even if it isn't the same. It's still a note. Now questions lie is how did this crown gain that evil power to consume those who wear it. Expect for a dragon we fought not knowing the truth was able to handle it's control until you fought it. In EX I personally assumed it used some its power yet still no match. Honestly there is so much to the acients, so many enemies to face and much more truth to find. Even if we won the battle and the war with the crown. It's origins are still truly unknown and maybe one day we will truly know. As well when it's the magical tree. It's power is shown to destroy a world, that world bein a neat reference to parts of World 6 but also a reminder of a journey we had in Forgotten Land. Hearing this music just gives those thoughts to me. Genuinely I love this game and I glad we got and we learned a lot more on how dangerous the crown is but it lead to some more questions that we might never get answered or we will but years down the road. I'm just happy to be a part of this journey as Kirby Fan and genuinely this little pink ball is one of my personal favorites franchises.
@@1Up2081 he's literally saying he will probably betray kirby again (though for me the way he will toy with him is by lot's of pranks and extrimly high prices and entry fees for his shops and theme parks)
“Kirby… Ugh! I hate having to rely on you, and your vacant stare when I revealed my grand plan was truly insulting. Well, let’s see if you can break this thing on my head. If you can, then someday… hee hee hee… *I may get to toy with you again!”* - Vs. Magolor Soul’s special page in phase 2.
A remix like this is the reason remakes should exist. Take something people already experienced ages ago, and give back a culmination of their years-long journey with the game. This truly feels like a song that says, "You're back to finish what you started all that time ago. Good luck."
this song has got me all sorts of messed up. the voice clips. the even more frantic and slightly forlorn feeling than even crowned has. the whole FEEL of the song. and i know i mentioned them before but the MUFFLED AND DISTANT VOICE CLIPS MAKING IT SEEM LIKE MAGS IS CRYING OUT FOR HELP. i'm disintegrating over this song tbh
This song in its first half sounds somewhat heroic. Meanwhile in the second half it sound very sad, and Magolors cries in the background make me almost tear up myself.
"K-Kirby.... help.... please.... free me... release me from t-this pain.... p-please... I-I'm... I'm s-sorry..... I'm sorry for b-betraying you a-and your friends... I'm... I'm no f-friend.... I-I'm a monster... d-destroy this c-crown... destroy m-me.... end my p-pain... end my s-suffering... I'm n-not worth it to y-you a-anym-more.... *I... I d-don't... even... deserve t-to be... called a-a friend...."* - Magolor
Ah...12 years later, and now King Dedede is my new main to use in the True Arena. Thank you, Super Dedede Jump, for making this fight astronomically easier.🤣
Magolor Soul: You know what I might just use the 2 New Copy Abilities against you now Me: Wait what? *Gets caught by one of Magolor soul’s sand tornadoes* Me: Please don’t tell me He’s going to use the mecha ability *Magolor Soul starts using the mecha ability* Me: He’s too op
A lot of people theorize that this is a sort of "bad ending" that would've happened, but I think its suppose to be the prelude to Magolor's Epilouge, where he destroys the crown for good. It even showed in the beginning cutscene Magolor EX being destroyed. But maybe I could be wrong.
I don't think this fight in particular is beofre Magolor Epilogue, seeing how the opening scene of Magolor Epilogue shows the regular scene of the crown breaking and he disappearing, while the True Arena version has him, still transformed, disappear. So the "bad ending" theory makes sense
I interpret the choir as the crowns previous victims. Countless rulers reduced to a solemn melody. Along with that, to me magolor's cries and the pause screen feel like echos. His final thoughts and pleads that dance on the wind, only heard after any chance of restoration is gone. **The mage has fallen, another vessel for the true ruler, and only once only his memory remains do his prayers reach you** Good thing these Arena and extra mode "what if" scenarios aren't canon. How did the epilogue start again?
Magolor Soul Deluxe with his double Lasers, four way dragon attack and faster sword swipes. Also he has two health bars That's actually Magolor you are hearing or the Master Crown is imitating him and telling you to go easy on him like a facade.
To be honest, the original magolor soul felt like an EX boss rather than a true finale, but this one feels like a TRUE soul boss, at least in my opinion.
A really cool atmospheric imagining to be sure. I quite like it and welcome the inclusion. But I think those who want to more easily hear the melody and rhythm will stick with the CROWNED Medley from Star Allies.
I actually beat True Magolor Soul first try… of course not first try of the true arena in general but first time fighting True Magolor Soul with Mecha in tow I fired the giant laser as the final blow
This might be obvious or not but I think every final EX boss is supposed to be a sort of true/happier ending. Not much of a what if ending. In Kirby Planet Robobot you free Haltmans soul from rotting inside the Star dream/ super nova same for Kirby triple deluxe you save Sectonias soul from being trapped inside the dream stalk. Magolor wanted the crown but he's now suffering from the consequences of his actions and Kirby saves him from the crown. Then during the opening of the epilogue the crown breaks into bits and fuses with the grand doomer and Magolor has to truly destroy the crown
I would like to do some lyrics for this song because, why not? I LOVE IT. Here Trapped... in Another Dimension Far away Here Trapped... just had a stroke trying to figure out the difference between this and CROWNED because I was under the assumption that this _was_ CROWNED, just renamed like Welcome Your New Overlord ( I had no idea Magolor had a new phase. oops) but as soon as I started playing it I went... this isn't CROWNED- and I was right because it's not even the same song I'm just a little dumb :)
