I got the same one for the same reasons - mostly for the fitment. I also wasn't sure when I'd be able to get a new controller and wanted to get right back to riding without any wait. I was back and forth between the 60max and the compact, but most of the time, I don't really ride any more than 20 miles without a charger coming with me, so I figured that I'd be okay. Now that I've ridden around a bit, I would have liked that extra ten miles or so but it's not that much of a big deal. I calculated that I can get about 50 miles of range out of the battery if I take it easy the whole time. If I push it, it's probably more like 40 miles, but I haven't done an official test on it yet to see just how far it'll go.

I think we made a great choice. Feels like the best compromise/power/size for the money. I am very happy with it. I do plan to do a full range test soon. :)

btw did you have to do any mods to the battery tray itself? looks like the battery just slides in no worries?
@clu801
@clu801 Год назад
No tray mods at all. Only adding the extended hinges and latch. One of the reasons I went with 60 compact!

How fast can you go with the stock 60. V ?? And do you know if it gets longer distances then the 70 v ??
@clu801
@clu801 Год назад
with the stock 60v and KO controller I was able to get to 51 on the GPS. I have a video on that. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4-OGsHSH8Vc.html On the Chi 60v I still haven't pushed it past 60mph.. I know it will go faster.. I get nervous :) Distance depends on aH(amp hours) or even more realistic wH(watt hours) these can vary depending on the battery you get.. if you think in terms of 60 vs 72.. and physical size.. if you lower V you can add aH but you also increase amps and heat for same speed. My advice to anybody is to do some research and understand what you want before you buy. I chose 60v because I wasn't going to max out the amps and I wanted to still be able to use the stock battery and charger on the fly. Which you cant do with a 72.

I NEED THAT RISER
@clu801
@clu801 Год назад
which riser? for the back of the lid? the front? handlebars? Just curious
@T-Sav
@T-Sav Год назад
@@clu801 The part closest to where you sit. I believe the others are just 3d printed hinges, of which i already have - if not i need both!!!
@clu801
@clu801 Год назад
@@T-Sav Yeah the hinges are 3D printed. But this front piece is nice.. you maybe could try to get one from Chi. 🤷

@@clu801 I emailed them, they said they are only providing them to existing Chi customers :( hopefully this changes at some point soon! Nice video anyway!

Omg … that looks so hacked with wires sticking out, that would be a deal killer for me.

I did just drop a new battery in and didn’t take time to do any cable management. It’s much better now, however with an aftermarket battery like that, the cables have to come around the outside.
@turbosupra2jzdragracingtob249
@@clu801 Wish there was room to avoid that

@@TheDoodeII I have a SurRon - and not hating - was hoping he find a solution for the wires sticking out. I would try to- or I would be disappointed.

Hahah.. easy fellas. We all love the Sur-ron and I didn't take anything badly. That first initial ride with that big bulky square connector that isn't used anymore dangling around was laughable for sure. I have long since tucked that one way under the ignition.. and the power cable I have a lot lower around the frame, it doesn't come over the top anymore and looks much better. You can kind of see it in my latest KO app Beta video just after the 5 minute mark. But it was dark :( so its not a great view. I am always looking for ways to clean it up because this bike just looks cool to me!
