i ordered mine june 30th....delivered aug. 3....the day AFTER the laws changed here in n.y. state.... as of Aug. 2, 2020.... all scooters and ebikes r now LEGAL 2 ride on most roads!!!!....SCOREEEEE!!!!... but ya... i got all the upgrades.... headbearings....RST forks and a fast ace rear....and i got the gates belt system as well... totally happy with my purchase !!!!
can confirm early model throttles were shit, caused a few crashes for me. switched mine to a thumb throttle (what I grew up with) - so much better. New controller helps too :P still on stock battery but capable of about 3x stock power once i upgrade that.
@@TheSbaragna Just a generic one of ebay... and yea easy as to install. cut the throttle wire (electrical one, not the cable) (remove battery first) and you'll find 3 wires inside... red to red, black to black and the other is the 'singal' wire for the throttle position. hook 'em up and done. Just be careful to have the back wheel suspended off the ground when first turning it back on just in case you got it wrong, as it may go full throttle if so.
Nice ya think it should be the same ive seen some recent ones in the uk and Australia that have same upgrades. Ya the really old handlebars didn't have any markings on them
When you assembled yours was the left fork leg about 1/2" longer than the right leg? We just assembled two of these and the Left fork leg is longer so that to align the axle you must push the left leg up about 1/2" to insert the axle. I've built a lot of Moto and MTB bikes and I have NEVER seen this before. Also, what is the purpose of the 8" extra wiring harness that can be plugged into the battery with the red LED light on it?
Ya i talked about the fork length thing in my review vid :) i think they are just kinda cheap forks, when i saw that, and also could hear the spring crunching inside when i compressed it i was like "ohhhh greeeaaat" but they seem to be holding up really well so far, and ive taken some hefty drops to flat with them.... the harness is a test light, if you have a problem plug it in between the battery and bike, and it will blink a certain amount of times and then you can look up what your code number means, kinda like using an obd scanner on a car
Are you able to get a full 40 miles as advertised? Wondering if this would be a good option for me on days where I don't need to hit the freeway but still don't want to regular bicycle. ;)
Probably closer to 20, but honestly thats pretty far if you think about it ... and i ride at 50mph, if on street, it may be pretty close to 40 if it was in ep mode without the governor removed...
I know 2 ppl who got them a month ago directly at lunas warehouse and one got a fender and the other didn’t. I guess certain batches have them and some don’t
@@cherrypoppins4152 I think it depends on what forks you get with your sur ron. Mine from June 2021 had the rsx killah forks and came with the zip tie type front fender.
You can if you're not in the US, most places, if you are in the US you'll have to put your own custom lights and supporting mods, or custom order one from China directly which can be hard to find sometimes but a lot of places like here in California you can street legal it as is.
Luna will probably start selling them soon, i know i saw a RU-vidr that got one directly from sur ron for his older model and he made it seem like it was plug and play
The headset? I think the stem is just logo difference. Although they do ship them in the US upside down now so maybe it looks different since it goes upwards now?
Sur ron e bike are so tiny. I like the design but the frame is way to small for my body type. I stand 6 foot 3 inches. I think I would look awkward sitting on this. Great video duh.
