I have the new turbo to the 640 df pro and 340 pro along with now 2 turbos the full size 18650 and have had ZERO issues that supposedly everyone else “claims” I on the other hand had a modlight fail me big time. I trust my Surefires and will continue to run them. Thanks for the video….. again Ive caught people I know talking crap and they don’t even own a Surefire! They just put their olight problems off on Surefire because they are the best. Battle PROVEN.
Interesting. The only lights I've ever had fail were Surefires. One overseas in the sandbox which was a A2 Aviator. It was incandescent which kinda dates me and I have had issues with 2 640dfs. Modlite, Cloud Defensive, Arisaka/Malkoff I've never had issues with. I own 5 Modlites, 5 CDs, 4 Arisakas and yes... even a few Olights and the only lights to ever fail on me were Surefire which has been 3 times now.
I'm opposite. My 640 DF pro is back at surefire being repaired because it has the dimming flickering issues everyone else has. My modlite does not have the same problem.
I discovered something interesting with my M340C regarding battery brands. With a Panasonic CR123, the light would immediately be super bright upon clicking the tailcap, then dim quite noticeably , and there was a very faint buzzing/hissing sound. Then with a Surefire® CR123, it stayed the same brightness and had no buzzing. The original 640DFs were terrible though. I actually sold one full disclosure after RMAing it for dimming after recoil, and the guy I sold it to managed to fix it but he had to basically screw the tailcap on with an impact wrench.
@@pescad0 Sounds like that Panasonic was extra spicy and tricked it into thinking there was an 18350 in there until voltage sag hit. Maybe not cool if you're running that in more sensitive equipment.
I had the first 600 DF they came out with amd it throttled down the lumens within a couple seconds of turning it on. Not too "dim" but it was not as bright.
Can you run another test with a UE tailcap? It’s my understanding the UE tailcap might be the cause of flickering problems, especially amongst the original DF lights.
I think the UE tailcap does flicker even with modlite (from what I hear), it could do something with the plug tolerance itself, I heard that the plug isn't as snug as the DS00 tailcap. Granted I dont have a UE tailcap I have a DS00 tailcap and i can tell you I don't have flickering with that tailcap and the plug is tight within there.
