I used high pressure PVC pipe rated at 330 PSI that was 1.5 inches in diameter. The air pump is from an auto store and is meant to fill car tires. It is 12 volt DC. I usually would only pump up the launcher to 120 PSI to launch. I wanted to stay well within the pressure limits as it is essentially a bomb. Is there something more specific you are looking for? The cannon is built with pressure rated 1.5" PVC that you can get at any hardware store. The compressor I bought from an auto parts store. It is a 12 volt compressor designed to fill car tires. All of this stuff is off the shelf, really easy to find. DO NOT fill a cannon to 300psi! This is essentially a pipe bomb and it WILL blow your face off. I never fill mine above 100 psi so I always have plenty of extra strength. I can't stress this enough, it isn't worth being disfigured.
Hey man I just got my bait launcher finished and I hope to use it at Murrells Inlet next week. Do you know if there are any local beach ordinances against it in that area? Thanks for defending me. Can't make everyone happy. I don't think there are any direct laws against using this but I'm sure there are people who will give you a hard time for no good reason (see comments for examples!). When I use this at the beach I try to go out to an area that has very few people and after I launch it I lay it down and cover it with a towel so it isn't visible. It's just compressed air so I don't think that qualifies as a firearm. But who knows with all these wackos out there these days who think fun is illegal. Stay safe!
