Glad you got your rail and that it came right back to you. Grinds on a C5 would be a bit crazy. Not impossible with the right pinch, but definitely next level. I have a feeling after you get some sessions in with the standard indys, you will challenge yourself to get a grind or two with the C5. It is just who we are as skaters. It is going to happen, it is just a question of when.
Expensive endeavor but I concluded the same. It’s the fear of not for so long, plus the fact that c5 is sketch AF! The pinch is No pinch. It’s gonna have to be a dead centered grind right down the middle of the kingpin with all my weight on the back truck…probably centered too, cause if I pinch that it will lock in an opposite pinch up front and there is no pinch on the c5, the truck will wash out entirely and it will be something…what exactly I don’t want to imagine. I’ve given it a bit of thought for sure. Played it out in my head some. Gonna go Indy get comfortable again. See if after I get my 50/50s back, and once upon a time I was like a master at rail 50/50s, having done like 100 in a row no mess ups at all across my 12’ flat rail, if I can regain a smith and feeble. I can see a Smith and feeble on the c5 but I am too sketch to try before I get 50s back. I also used to k grind and 5-0 rails really well too. K is out of question with C5’s. 5-0 is possible but in the last two years I have has zero 5-0 practice at all. My 50/50 red curb practice hardly counts as practice. That’s 2 sessions total for ten minutes in 2 years. I wish wish wish I had a knee high ledge to recut my teeth on. But there’s just nothing of the sort in my town. :(
@AdventuresInSkateboarding yeah, I’m likely to take it slow with these two tricks while i think a bit more each day about how I’ll approach it. I need to order some regular indies yet. I’ve got extra decks.
