Nice trailer. I like the attention to detail around the connection. Surly does good work. For those who need to just haul groceries and the like, I have a BOB trailer that I love (I've had it for probably 20 years); it's a single wheel, so it banks with the bike, and isn't any wider than the bike so I don't have to worry when going between cars.
there was a whole thing in Portland and maybe seattle of communities doing house moving by Bikes . I bet there's lots of sturdy big trailers and makers right over the river
also, if you’re looking for something a little smaller, they make a short version of this called the Ted trailer. They are absolutely amazing. I own two surly bikes, both of them electric converted, and all of their stuff is amazing.
I needed a super big trailer so I built myself one it's not light though probably the trailer itself is 150 pounds I tried to keep it light, but needed to make the base stronger. I also looked for months looking for ways to attach it as attaching to the wheel hub to me is not safe. Found a way to get a full regular hitch into the bike seatpost all the way back and a dropper post down. I tested the pull with everything and maybe 200 pounds inside the trailer it can tow it even with a little bit of an incline. I have never tested the one hill though as I don't think it will make it back up. I have a new 5k watt motor on the bike just need to get a proper battery to run it then I'll test it. Once I think its good enough to pull the full 800-1k pounds of stuff I want to Carry all the time for work. Most of the weight I need to carry is a 600 pound brush hog mower.
I've been thinking about a E-Tricycle trailer build. with the trailer a goose neck. moving a sht of plywood as one of the design goals, with the other being able to move a small sub/speaker on a stick PA system that I use for Block Parties.
I didn't even watch the video, I went to go so how much this was because as someone without a car for the pat 3 years and only commuting via e-bike I really need something like this for certain occasions. $1200 is steep though. The thing is average driver spends around $16,000 a year on keeping their vehicle on the road so context is important. And this may be perfect.
No context is not important it's how they get you to justify the outrageous price we pay for every thing we buy now we spent a life time being told technology would make things cheaper yet all they do is charge more for less
More cargo space than the cybertruck, and not nearly as pretentious :) I think that trailer from jupiter bikes is also pretty sweet, don't know if you've featured that one. Not sure how a rear hub motor works with either one, though
That trailer seems like a good solar e-bike touring trailer! Where did you get your shirt? I used to work at a company called Sybase in the 1990's that had that as their logo. I want one. 🙂
No way that's worth 1k I will build a ghetto shopping cart trailer like my current one way before this you get a cheap schwinn trailer for kids lose the fabric and stuff to support it and strap on a shopping cart basket it will hold what you use yours for pretty much for a quarter of the price or less
The annoying thing is that it does not work with shano derailleur, the body of the derailleur is in the way of the hitch ,,if anyone has a sugestion to help me with my built(surly bridge club ) it would be awesome ,as i dont want to buy anoter expensive derailleur kit from another brand ,???
