Yes, very consistent velocity. It must have been very good quality manufacture to start with. I know how it's been stored for about 1/2 it's life as it's been in an ammo can in my basement for that time. As for the other 1/2 while it was presumably in Spain it must have been in a nice cool warehouse.
It's mighty cold here today, something like -25 with wind that makes it feel closer to -40. We should trade you some cold for some heat and we would all be happier! Thanks for the comment, and take care!
Yeah it has held up quite well, sure fire and quite consistent in velocity. Not sure if the so-so accuracy was the ammo, the rifle or me. Most likely a bit of all three.
Interesting gun, I almost picked one up a few years ago when they were everywhere for a decent price. The only reason I didn't was the strange ammo but I hear there are some in 9x19.
@@314299 I've got a Astra M1921 made in 1936/7, and a Star Modelo A Super from 1950. No Destroyer, unfortunately. Looks like I still have 17 boxes from 1962, Nine from the early '50's, six post war '40's, and another eight war time '40's.
I have always liked the Destroyer. Not sure what is so appealing about it but they sure are neat. I think my RCBS 9mm luger dies can also load 9mm Largo so with the proper brass that would be an extremely cheap rifle to shoot with a 124 grain hand cast bullet.
I have heard of folks using 9mm Luger dies but the Luger round is tapered while the Largo is much more straight sided. I do my Largo reloading using a set of Hornady 38 Super dies and they seem to work just fine. They are indeed a cheap little carbine to shoot - if you can get primers for a reasonable price!
@@314299 Primers remain all but unobtanium here in the states as well as percussion caps in anything smaller than musket size. When found, both products are priced at $130-$150/1000 and THAT, is obscene...
@@314299 ya they are imposable to find.. there are at least 1000 bolts out there that need an extractor. I am looking for an extractor that might just work ..stay tuned 😁
Those are rare as hens teeth in the US. I know it would turn into a comment disaster but I'd like to hear the story about what happened to your semi-autos.
I thought they sold a bunch of Destroyers in the US of A. As for the laws/proposed laws there has been some movement due to grass roots pressures and a lot of the proposed stuff has apparently been withdrawn. Suggest you check out the CCFR (firearmrights.ca) to keep up with what is going on. Discussing such here is just "preaching to the choir".
Yeah, new to me at any rate. The poor old "Shooting Crony" was starting to act up and I could not rely on it so when I had a chance to purchase this new one I figured I ought to.
