In most cases, that’s true. But if you care some amount, you would be able to care less. (Theoretically) If someone says “I could care less.”, you could ask “How much do you care now and how much less can you care?”.

If you think it is weird to learn that Picasso died in 1973, how about: 1974: The Equal Credit Opportunity Act With the passage of this Act, women were able to open a bank account on their own , and apply for credit cards in their own name, regardless of marital status.

When someone mispronounces a word, its likely because they learned it through reading (as opposed to hearing others say it in conversation) That’s never a bad thing! Reading is always a win!

George, vinegar is also a natural fabric softer because it helps prevent minerals in the water from being deposited on your clothes. Regular fabric softener just applies a coating of chemicals to your clothes and towels that cause them to become waterproof over time and lock in stubborn stains.
@Trustbutverify2651
@Trustbutverify2651 2 месяца назад
And it’s a natural disinfectant. Have used vinegar as my fabric softener for years. The slight vinegary smell disappears as the clothes dry. Also use a 1/4 C of Borax in each wash for softening. Does not harm colors but really makes whites shine if used regularly.

First time commenter here. As a thirty year fifth grade math teacher, I love knowing that the division sign is to replicate a fraction. The idea of a fraction as a division problem is something I introduce the first weeks of school and reinforce regularly. Nevertheless, as we have been reviewing the last few weeks, some students still falter on this. I'm hoping that using this idea is going to help reinforce this next year! I wanted to mention have really appreciated in past episodes when Rachel mentions teachers in such a positive way. That positive perspective is becoming rare these days and warms my hear to hear it. I love Smart Money Happy Hour - both George and Rachel - I discovered it a few months ago and think I've watched most of the back video episodes. :) One more thing I just thought of because of the previous commenter. Growing up, we used to say things like, "we need to unthaw some beef for dinner." At some point someone in my family realized that would really mean we were freezing it, and the proper term would be to just thaw it. I'm not sure if that was just my family or a widespread misuse of the word thaw/unthaw.

One that bugs me... "Cut and Run". Cut and run is a GOOD thing. It's a nautical term used when a coming storm is so dangerous it's better to cut your lines and head out to open water ahead of the storm (run), using the storms energy to build speed (when sailboats) and hopefully be able to ride it out rather than being bashed against the dock or beached. It killed me to hear so many Congressmen use it wrong! (Remember the John Kerry thing! )
