A warm personality goes very far, one can hardly believe Ryan to be American in the first place. Had it not been for his looks one might think he was Indonesian.
Ryan, if you plan to go here in the Philippines, it would be easy for you to prepare and learn our language Tagalog/Filipino since Indonesian and Filipino have a lot of words that are similar.
They were playing “ When The Children Cry,” by White Lion, an American hair metal from the ‘80’s, in that restaurant he got the lamb skewers in. That is AWESOME.
Do you still study Spanish any? I just started it as my 2nd language and I really hope to get conversational in it. I love Spanish music and the culture. Hopefully it doesn’t take me years😂
Its amazing for real how did you learn Indonesian so clean and especially javanese 😱 i don't find lot of ressource for javanese ! What is your secret to learn this to language so nicely i get big difficulty

@@martinburch2416there’s other videos where does meet up, he’s been slowly releasing those additional videos and I believe those other individuals have been post a video as well..
@@roye6961 Not only that, but Ryan is a warm, kindhearted person, that is generous and humble, it goes a long way. He'd have it terribly hard making friends in my home nation of Sweden, not due to his personality but due to how cold we are in comparison to literally everyone else on the planet. A drone strike is friendlier than Swedes in general. So whenever I meet someone from another nation, it warms my heart, because finally there's people I can talk to. It's not that Swedes are incapable of being kind and friendly and social, but it is getting rarer and rarer for each ongoing day. I myself ain't very social, but I just love meeting people who are warm and kind in nature. And it's not as if I dislike my Fellow Swedish Citizens, but having grown up in Sweden, I know very well how we are as a people. Australian Comedian Steve Hughes said it best when he compared the Swedes with the Irish, while he was doing a stand-up routine at RAW Comedy Club in Stockholm, Sweden. "Irish people are very open, you can get drunk with a bunch of men you've never met before, by the end of the night they'll be going, so where you fokkin stayin'? Well I got nowhere to stay. Well you'll be fokkin stayin' with us. Try that in Sweden and see how far you get. So where you staying? Nowhere. Oh! Well, good luck finding somewhere to stay. If you're still here after a year, perhaps I'll even tell you my name."
When i visited my wifes village, it was like i was the king of England. Everyone was so nice and a few never seen a Bule before. After taking a lot of pictures they fed me some great chicken. It is always nice to go to Indonesia and i always have fun. I will be going in August going to visit Bandung and Lombok.
Hey, I'm Korean who like to learning languages like you. I've been learning Spanish and Japanese. Your video makes me want to learn Indonesian! Though I dont understand Indonesian the sound of it heara very attractive and interesting 😄😄
Bonjour Ryan, it’s so nice to see outside your recording studio and interact with native people in their country; Bro, I wish you a great adventure in Indonesia!
I never knew Indonesia drives on the left side of the road. It's like the UK. I wonder if my UK license is good in Indonesia? Oh and by the way, you need to tell us what Jamil thought of you. It's probably far too late for a Q&A session with him, but maybe you can tell us what kind of vibes you felt? We all think you're cool as sh*t , as they say, but a foreigner's perspective would be great too!
Jamil seems pretty chill... would you recommend him to any of your subscribers if they visit Indonesia? Also, his village is really cool too. It's relaxed and clean! Oh, by the way... Awesome video, Ryan! You going back soon?
Love your videos Ryan. The people of Southeast Asia are so friendly and it's always great to get away from the 'touristy' areas. I hope to visit Indonesia one day but still have lots more of the Philippines to explore first 😉
Di Bogor ada kebun raya dan biasanya banyak turis juga i hope you can be the one hehehehe
Hahaha so exciting and heartwarming videos Ryan. Maybe some tips for you, when you want to say good bye, i rarely hear someone speak "Selamat tinggal", usually just say "Dadah" or "Dah". Because "Selamat Tinggal" feels like we'll never meet anymore haha. 15:29 But maybe its different in another city though 😂
This is Epic Content Ryan ! You Opened up The Doors to Indonesia and Far-East !! Great narration and natural vlogs out in a very different climate !!! Hope to see this New Yorker Hop all over those regions !!!!
Did go by car to Yogya from the other side of Java, from Surabaya last year. Was a really great holliday. Nice people and great food. Esp Yogya was so beautifull. My wife was an exchange student from Surabaya, who I met here in my country. Stayed with her family first and later after staying in Yogya did go back to her family. Her mom does speak fluent Dutch and most young people did speak English. My Indonesian is not good though and am not good at learning languages, either.

i'm learning indonesian and having trouble making out the words at 7:55 for "i thought you were 30 years old". could someone please transcribe? thank you!
Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but for older women like 40+ better to call them "Bu" and not to use "kamu" with them because it's considered rude (but these ppl are too polite to tell you). Otherwise, bahasa Indonesia kmu sdh bagus Ryan. Cukup natural, luwes. :) Hope you enjoyed your stay in Indonesia
It’s amazing how much other culture appreciate simply making an effort to communicate in their native tongue. I’ve spent the last 20+ years working with Mexican people and I simply made the effort to communicate in Spanish as much as posssible. They have been so warm, kind, and outgoing. All it takes is just a little effort.
Why your driver so quiet? He seems doesn't talk to much, but I know he was a good guy.. Enjoy your trip in my beautiful country.. Greeting from Malang, East Java, Indonesia 🇮🇩 👍🏻😇
