It’s definitely a good first attempt at a live action triple changer, even with the issues and the uhh “helicopter.” The shatter looks a lot better, they definitely learned from experience
the helicopter mode doesnt need to look accurate cuz drift's helicopter is in fact a non-real world helicopter and he's just parts-shifting his bugatti and robot parts to resemble the shape of a helicopter
Got the AoE version of this figure when it first came out, still among my favorire figures ever with everything it's able to acomplish. For their first big outing, I think they nailed it and have been nailing each release ever since, their Terrosaur is fantastic from what I've seen/heard, their new legends class BMB movie figures seem to hold themselves very well, and Shatter is looking to be another hit as the early reviews make it seem not that complicated to transform.
I personally liked how he looked in the first movie but the bayverse design is my favorite. It's kind of sad we'll never see this design come back along with some of their other good-looking one's
Mildly frustrating in some ways but still an amazing figure. Like, just the fact that it exists is amazing. And BTW the chopper mode, when properly transformed, is actually pretty awesome, it's just the rotors that are goofy. I got an upgrade sword that turns into a better set of rotors. ALSO, weirdly I don't like the Veyron that much either! I much prefer the Mercedes that he turned into in TLK, as well as the black and red and gold, which looks amazing.
The Bludgeon redec had me conflicted on getting this fig, but I decided that it was waaay too much orange for my tastes. If they do a Banzaitron deco I'll probably grab it tho
Yo I like the vide I don’t get why ppl don’t make more vids about him you made me love his design and I’m going to sell stuff to buy him and I got a good deal so ye ty for making this vide 😊
I actually got my first 3rd party figure thanks to these videos. Grabbed SG Skyfire, KO Dark Signus from TFSafari. Took about 10 day to ship to East Coast US. The figure itself is great.
I want this figure but my ideal repaint? AOE concept art. Instead of having blue accents, he's got orange, like the RID2015 design. Idk if it's too niche but it would be amazing.
Yo lo tengo y también tengo el mismo problema que tú con las piernas flojas. Pero sigue siendo una buena figura. No sé si la versión azúl tenga mas sólides en las piernas. Estoy pensando en adquirir lo. Un saludo 🎉
I have this figure and I do really like it. However, there are some things I want to point out that I found out with mine: BE CAREFUL WHEN PUTTING LEVERAGE ON HIS ARMS!!! I managed to snap the upper part of his arm guards hinge when trying to shift his shoulder joints for transformation, since mine are quite tight. It doesn’t seem to affect anything except that it swivels much more easily now, maybe a little too easily. Second, the red paint on mine seems to chip fairly easily. The head crest has a huge gash through it and there are chips on the front bumper paint. As a side note, I had ZERO idea about the spoiler on the back. That’s a really neat touch.
It's pretty normal not to like the Veryron design. It's bulbous in all the wrong places. Compared to something like the Audi R8. Also the wing is even before DRS was a thing
Loose hips/legs, not sure how they're put together but I had that issue with my old Armada Unicron and my bro 3D printed new pieces for it and they are so much tighter and not broken, wonder if it's like that for him?
I love this color scheme so much for than the AoE colors. I do wish it was the AMG Blackseries GT but I don’t think that form would have been possible considering the engineering
1:36 Must say, I prefer to see the red version of Metagate Drift as a Super Sport version of AOE. [FIY, there is a limited but higher performance Bugatti Veyron called the Super Sport it. Beat a world record for fastest supercar between 2012 and 2014. But this car is expensive af to have. The 2 million dollar price tag, 55k for one set of tires (that don't last so long), and a 20k oil change makes it unaffordable for even some multi millionaires. (Also, 450 genuine exist, and were discontinued in 2015). And you'll probably never want to drive this when you learn that it is a horrible gas guzzler has a less than 10 mpg gas mileage. Still makes me wonder why it became my dream car for a while.] But I actually kind of like a Bugatti Veyron in this color (I have a RC model, which I painted just like that). But regardless, the only reason why I prefer the blue is because movie accuracy, and I'm quite serious about that in collecting. So if I wanted this guy, I'd probably by both (condolences to my credit card), but it's unlikely due to poor MPM scale, which I am also pretty serious in an extent. But overall, a pretty unexpectedly creative figure.
I wanna add to this with an interesting fact: From what I've heard, Drift was originally supposed to be Orange instead of Blue (basically would have been like Hot Rod's colors) but when Bay went looking for one, they were out of stock given they weren't made that often. Due to this Bay wound up choosing to go with a Blue one instead because he felt it "mached his personality a bit more." So honestly I think that this Red version is pretty nice since it more closely resembles his original intended colors.
the blue Drift is my first quality transformer figure and, im not sure if its due to my lack of experience, but is it supposed to hurt so much trying to transform this mold? he's really tight almost everywhere and having to press a bit harder on the sharp surfaces of his armor really made my thumbs hurt like hell. he was in fact so tight in one foot when trying to unfold the "spikes" i broke one of them. how the hell are you supposed to pull those out with just the strength of your fingertips?
I have the blue drift and it's a good figure, just it's kinda cancerous to transform. However looking at a video of shatter, she looks so much simpler to transform.
