Surprisingly Solid AA Third Person Shooter Soulslike - Scars Above [Demo] 

There is one detail about this game I really like. It is not a spray and pray, every shot is meant to be taken with precision and preparation or you will run out of ammo at the worst moment.

Makes me sad when I hear people struggle to explain science fiction But this game has 100 percent of my attention

I like difficulty options. But also, I love Control, which has none. It depends on the game itself. I hate Souls games because of the restriction on movement, but Control is the same, but has a better dodge and you only have to dodge the ranged enemies because the ones that rush you are easily killed. This game reminds me of Control. Both games don't force you to grind for ability points, in Control you do missions and explore. This game, you explore. I will buy it. Been wanting a game like this. Hopefully its not too long, because we got a lot of those games. Edit: Watched AlphaBetaGamer play this and wondered if the ice stayed. Glad to see it does. Another reason to buy it.

I like how they use so many actual scientific terms rather than technobabble so common in sci-fi. It really helps my immersion.

Watching the beginning of this and listening to Wander's commentary, I envision him listening to Sir Mix-a-Lot in the background.

That atmosphere of this reminds me alot of reamnant of the ashes, it wasnt a soulslike but had the monster killing and fog walls for bosses and even bonfire crystal things as checkpoints, most similar thing is how enemys pop out out of nowhere, wonder if this game has elites that show up as well

Remnant is the only souls shooter I've ever played but it was good

You say you don't like "gap scooch" mechanics to hide load screens... but would you actually prefer a load screen? I'd much prefer the gap scooch, cause it doesn't interrupt the immersion. It's better than what destiny did which was give you a long, basic hallway to run through every few fights. Do you have a preferred load screen alternative?

9:40 sure fiber is probably a crafting component... but it could also be a dietary supplement. I've had military rations many times, fiber is important.

Set global frame rate limit override in Nvidia Control Panel -> Manage 3D settings. Amd likely has something similar.

If you have an Nvidia graphics card then you can use Riva Tuner to hard cap your framerate automatically instead of having to turn on Vsync everytime. Works much better then the Nvidia Control Panel settings because that utilizes throttling to cap framerate.

I liked the story returnal was putting out and graphically the game popped on the ps5 but dying felt really unforgiving even with unlocking shortcuts and idk I really rather have a sci-fi souls than a sci-fi rogue like. I doubt this’ll be coming to consoles but this does seem kind of cool

Difficulty options are no different than configurable controls, frame rate, all the audio and visual doo-dads, etc. It just is. If you hate the idea of someone playing a game differently than you do, well...

Big butts, repeated and janky bosses, awkward dialogue and voice acting. I love the science aspect though. And the elemental interactions and making-every-shot-count are great.

Bullshit explanations of scifi things happening around are nope for me, gameplay looks little boring, generic searching for secrets is tiring to watch and i would hate to look around for these myself. Souls-like shooter is a cool idea tho, just too much jank in this one imho

Actually surprised, tried to play this on steam deck as a new owner gets to the title screen and yes I know it’s not deck verified but nothing shows up no new game nothing just the title screen. Guess the steam deck is a pile of dog shit after all
